A friend told me about this place and i decided to try it out . It was very clean & cozy inside. Service was great and very fast for only one person at the counter. I was not impressed by the coffee though. I could tell by the color that it was going to be watered down . I ordered the vanilla cream. My bf got a cold brew . Our coffee tastes very watered down . You can tell by the photo. Does not taste like there coffee in here at all. This was right after our first sips in the car.

great coffee shop! coffee is great and ambient too. it is a little loud if you are trying to telework and need to jump on a call, but nothing major I suppose it’s the big ceilings! either way, i love this coffee shop for a slower day at work or just to hangout. Their milk alternatives are great and espresso isn’t too bold. totally recommend

First time here and perhaps my last time. I arrived about 7:40am and there were 2 people in front of me. I ordered house coffee—black—and a maple bacon ranch crossaint (AMAZING). From the get-go, the other patrons were staring at me like they were seeing a Martian...let's just say I didn't feel entirely welcome as a person of color in this Waukee coffee shop. The positive thing about the experience was that someone complimented my rainbow Iowa coffee mug (from home) and that I beat the rush, because from 7:57am til I left at 9am, there were at least 7 people in line at any point in time. The coffee isn't good black, it's quite bitter and might taste good with a bunch of milk and sugar. Cute farmhouse/industrial theme, but overall, not my cup of tea, unfortunately.Dietary restrictions: You can substitute dairy for oatmilk in most drinks.

The Coffeesmith is by far my favorite place to get coffee in Waukee. Currently, I have been loving their brown sugar shaken espresso with oat milk. Not only is their coffee wonderful, their food is quite tasty as well (especially their breakfast croissant sandwich and the caprese panini with added chicken). I’m not sure what sauce goes on that breakfast sandwich but wow it makes the whole sandwich 10x tastier. And as a cherry on top, their service never disappoints. The Coffeesmith is a wonderful establishment in totality.

Really good coffee as you would expect from a coffee shop but what was even more amazing was their brown sugar bacon croissant.. One of the best breakfast sandwiches I have had. The ambiance is typical coffee shop and service is prompt.

First time trying this place and it is excellent. I had the Pablo Honey latte and it was the best coffee drink I have had in a while! I asked for it to be a little less sweet and it was perfect. Very subtly sweet with a delicious espresso flavor shining through. I only wish it was closer to Ankeny. Not the most convenient location for me but I'll make a point to go back!

The Coffesmith is a solid cafe with free wifi and industrial design. There's free wifi - which makes it a good spot for studying and socializing.Their ice lattes are good and decently priced but their specialty drinks run pretty expensive. Their French Toast muffin was decent as well.I recommend Coffeesmith but there are some other interesting options in the Des Moines metro.

This is a great little coffee shop! The employees are friendly, the prices are reasonable, the environment is cozy, and the drinks are great! Oh, and it's a local place compared to a big chain! Just about everything you could be looking for. I recommend stopping in for the first time or the tenth!

Love! This coffee shop has amazing espresso - it’s not too bitter or too sweet. They have many seasonal drinks and flavors, but can make all the basics too. Baristas are friendly. The space is calm and inviting. Chairs are great, for an hour or so. Then you’ll want more comfort 😋

I love this place so much and am so sad I live far enough away that this isn’t my daily haunt, because I know it would be. Anytime I have the opportunity to go, I take it. I love their americano but the dark roast black coffee is also a delicious treat. I get my sugar intake from the Almond Patties. If you like Dutch letters, these will be your new go-to pastry.

Best coffee!!! Love the Ron Swanson with extra cheese sauce!!! Just wish you were open on Sunday! There are no good local coffee shops open on Sundays and would love it if you guys were!!!! Recommend this place to everyone!!! Also got the cutest handmade keychain from here!!
