I like this goodwill because the staff is nice but the prices are way too high for a lot of items. Definitely don’t even bother on the shoes here as most of them are marked up over $10 for used shoes. They aren’t open on Sunday either right now which really sucks since goodwill deals club only runs like every other weekend.

Horrible customer service!! Went here at 7:19 on a Tuesday night. All the lights were on, the sign still said open OPEN and door was unlocked. Proceeded to enter the store and walked around for about 3-5 minutes. Employee comes out and says “you know we’re closed right?” and continued to say “if you could leave now that would be nice” after we acknowledged that we needed to leave and started to head towards the door he said “we’re gonna turn the lights off”. Whoever this guys was could have approached the situation differently. We had stuff in our hands and would have purchased about $60 worth of merchandise. They should have turned their lights off and locked the door. It was clear past closing time and store was openly available to the public. I will not be returning to this store.

I understand that proceeds go towards helping others but prices seem a bit high to me. I have a limited budget and was unable to buy anything here.

I shop at three Goodwill stores in Des Moines area, usually once a week, Waukee mostly.I am disappointed with high prices on some name brand items .Items that were donated, no cost to Goodwill. The sign for shoes reads 6.99 but a pair of Nike shoes are marked 19.99. And a Jewel purse marked 19.99 where the signs states purses are 5.99.Most people shopping at Goodwill are lower income and it is exciting to find something for a lower price that they would never be able to afford otherwise. Now Goodwill seems to be more concerned about making lots of money rather than helping people. Big business get richer and the poor people stay poor. I buy shoes because I like them and the price but if they’re a name brand given to Goodwill and they gouge the price I can’t afford them . I’ve noticed most of your prices have increased, like every business has in this country.. The difference is your items are given to you. My shopping there will decrease because of this. Shame on Goodwill!

Terrible management / "manager"!! Rude! Talks behind her employees backs in front of costumers. She walks around doing nothing. Skinny gal with her hair pulled back is awful. She sits on thr floor looking at her phone & super unfriendly.

Workers always nice at the store with the big exception of today. Older gentleman with white hair was as rude as I have ever encountered.Three new racks were rolled out on to the floor and all had already been tagged for sale. He verbally insulted me multiple times stating I had no business going through those and to get away from them.If they are out on the floor, these are for sale. In no way was I impeding his progress. He wasn’t even at the rack when I was looking and still was over the top rude. Someone needs to address this with this cranky old man. There were multiple other customers who witnessed this and all gave me a shocked look as well and couldn’t believe what they were hearing.The topper is when I was looking at one of the racks, he came back and pulled it away from me into the back room.I hope this doesn’t go unnoticed and this issue is addressed. If workers or store managers don’t want customers to look through the new clothing racks, They need to keep them in the back room. All I was doing was trying to support your business and buy stuff. To have a rack physically pulled away from me was like a five-year-old taking his basketball and going home when he gets upset.

I’ve since changed my ratings from. 3 to 4 because the cashier below seems to be I;better moods these days. Loren is always helpful. And she absolutely goes the extra mile .My original testimony is below.I have been a literal life long customer. What turned into a necessity as a child turned into a hobby and my favorite way to find things I need.On 5/26/21 at 4:10 pm on register 2 with Melissa ended my very pleasant shopping experience on a bad note. Melissa was literally the worst associate I’ve ever ran into at your stores, and I’ve been to them Across the country. She first didn’t speak loud enough to me when I was asking standard customer inquiries. I’m fact she tried not to respond using words at all and instead made “ mhm”, “ mm mmm” responses.Then she told me my card failed when in fact it was YOUR machine that failed causing me to be embarrassed in front of a long line and full store. she didn’t even feel the apologize for HER error and obvious inability to use your cash register. Training suggested.She also didn’t even hand me my receipt but instead made sure to hand it to the next customer in line. I assume just because we knew one another. Epic fail regarding my expectations. I will lastly like to end with this suggestion; organization may be helpful in the home section, which would make sense next to the furniture. But also pricing is very… inconsistent and incomplete.Because your store does not sell items without price tags, it may help to put price tags on more of the items so that disappointment doesn’t happen consistently.

Very disappointed. I lost a lot of weight and needed some cheap clothes. My husband, who was paying for my clothes, was asked to leave because he refused to wear a mask. How do you know he didn't have medical problems. I suppose you don't let people with medical issues shop in your store. We ended up going home and spending more money on Amazon to get the clothes we needed. I don't think we are ever going to go back to a Good will.

You cannot judge a store from just one unpleasant visit. You have to realize what Goodwill is trying to accomplish. Sure, there may be moments that this store is not the greatest, but that does not mean that this store is bad in general. I have found the employees to be very friendly and always try to do everything they can in order to make the customer's experience very nice.This is a great Goodwill store that is very worth checking out.

Overall this is a good stop for thrifting. The staff is always friendly and their stock seems to turnover quickly. Sometimes it can be a bit of a mess though. So if you don't mind shopping through the clutter, you can make some great finds.

Decent place, rude customer service from one of the employees. Not only was she (possibly team leader) rude to me, but also to her fellow employees. She made a huge scene about custmers not being able to take home hangers, it was not as big of a deal as she made it out to be. She went on about it and completely embarrassed me and her co-worker. Very inappropriate and definitely NOT "bringing out the best in people." I will not be going again if she is working there.

Fair clothing selection, housewares, cookwear, pictures. It would be easier to shop if all clothing were sorted by size and not color. Small furniture selection. My pet peve is that the nicer items are "priced up".

This'd is my local Goodwill locations. Not only do I shop here frequently but I donate to the store as well. Over the last two years that the store has been here I have had multiple occasions where I left the store either frustrated confused or mad. I purchased a small sofa for my son's college apartment one weekend last fall. When I came to pick it up they were unable to locate it in the back room. Finally I was told that it must have went home with somebody else. The manager, I believe her name was Tina, approached me and quite abrasively began laying blame for my missing sofa on me. Their policy is that paid for items must be picked up within 2 business days.

Very disappointed, took half truck load stuff to donate, rang bell at back of store for service as the sign says, waited over 10 min, went around front of store to talk to someone and it was 6:01. They said sorry we're closed!
