I love Volunteering here! I know for the day I am here and spend time with the dogs I am making a difference In their lives! I may walk a few of them, clean kennels. And I absolutely give lots of treats. And right now I give extra love to Kirby he has a skin condition so I give him massages with raw shea butter. And plenty of hugs and kisses. If yall have free time and want to help with cats/ dogs or both Fill out an application on there website 💞

My cat got out a couple days ago, when I called to get her back they wanted to charge me OVER $100 to even get her back, all they’re concerned with is the money of it and not the actual animals, they go on and on about how they don’t want anymore animals in there making sure they get spayed or neutered and but want to charge someone for getting their cat that already has a home and was just out exploring on her own free will. I adopted another cat from there and she’s great, but getting MY cat back and having to pay that much is absolutely ridiculous

Be sure to ask questions. In hindsight we realized some information was missing/incorrectPerhaps they were waiting for us to ask more, that's on us.they want to home animals. Not bad goals. No worries though, we found a good little pup. Maybe the happiest dog I've ever met.

We found the perfect kitty, nothing seemed to be wrong until we took him to the vet and they told us he had FIP. We contacted the humane society and let them know, because FIP itself isn’t contagious but the feline coronavirus is. If they were educated enough they would’ve realized how serious the situation was, but the girl I talk to over the phone claimed it wasn’t contagious at all. FIP is a mutation of the feline coronavirus just like the other cat virus listed, FIV and feline leukemia. When it mutates it becomes these viruses that are not treatable. FIV, feline leukemia, and FIP cats are not contagious, but they spread the feline coronavirus which then can mutate into these viruses. Since they didn’t take it seriously, the worry is they’re going to have some sort of outbreak. These cats share litter boxes, food, water, so this is very possible. I was extremely disappointed that they weren’t taking it seriously. Sadly our cat, has passed away due to his illness. Once we got him his symptoms worsened and he hit the wall. His stomach was extended, he had a high thirst, terrible diarrhea, and trouble breathing. We only had him for almost two weeks when our vet said his quality of life is no longer good and recommend we put him down. It was the hardest thing we’ve ever had to go through and I hope my review is seen so something is done about this. Take it seriously please, the kitty’s that you have in your care depend on you guys, so u have to protect them. It’s not fair to them to ignore something as serious as this and let those kitties get sick. All our animals know is us and us only, so we must provide and protect. We will not be adopting from the humane society after our experience. I’m scared to go through another lose and I don’t want a sick cat.

The employees and volunteers at CBHS really care about the animals. The health and safety of the animals is always top of mind. The adoptable animals become the best pets you could ever have as they appreciate what you have done for them by adopting. Adopt---Don't Shop.

My boyfriend had adopted two cats from this place, and both of them were documented incorrectly. The first cat was advertised as being friendly with other cats, yet upon bringing her home she started hissing and attacking the other cat. The aggression had lasted over two weeks, and we tried everything we could to keep both cats, but we had to return one to the shelter for the safety of both cats. After a heartbreaking decision to return the cat, my boyfriend was met with curt workers and was told he had to sign a form which explained that if the cat wasn't adopted again in a certain amount of time that the cat would have to be put down. All because the shelter didn't take the time to properly document the nature of the cat. The remining cat from the shelter that my boyfriend still owns was reported to be neutered, but the cat clearly isn't. Now we have to find a place to neuter this two-year-old cat. I can see making a mistake with one cat, but with two separate cats with incorrect documentation, and reading other reviews, this shelter clearly does not care about the health and safety of its animals.

I usually don't get involved with other reviewers but I belive that her review isn't completely accurate I'm not a staff person. UT I've adopted from this shelter I have no other ties then that my reveiw is as follows in response to a fellow reviewers with the cat ,I belive that the cats do need more room ,however it is extremely expensive to do so ,as far as the report that it smells bad I strongly disagree, while I have adopted two dogs duke and Dakota, at my visit they wear extremely well mannerd staff answered every ? We had we walked through the shelter and found that it was clean healthy and sanitary the staff treat them exceptionally well while staying their, they wear very patient with everyone and every ? I belive that the staff maintain the facility in an excellent manner the two dogs we adopted have been amazing everything they said about their personality behaviors wear spot on I have never had such an amazing dogs before and i credit that to the care they received while staying ,we wear given medications to take home for them being spayed and neutered they have been happy and healthy since the adoptions I don't belive that the staff would allow childern to upset the animals their and if it did occur I'm certain that would be taken care of.when viewing the cats the boxes wear cleaned cages wear cleaned and cats well grommed ,I think that the reviewer should put some money wear her mouth is and maybe help with a fund raiser if she wants to see more room and that would be more help to the cats kittins ,we were provided with a decent time frame to visit the dogs they weren't pushy with the adoptions they have been exceptional answering our ?s after the adoptions . I think it's a great place and staff thanks for allowing us to visit and adopt two amazing dogs 🐕 I hope this review helps those looking for their next friend that they go hear .thanks for reading .

As other 1 star reviews will put it, if I had the choice of doing no stars I would. Warning-this review is lengthy. So the first thing I noticed was the smell. It was horrid. It smelled like straight up cat urine. There was no clean place to sit.The staff members were quite rude and didn't seem to want to answer questions about the cats. Just threw us in a meeting room room no information about the cats what so ever.Secondly, the cats have absolutely no supervision. Two cats were fighting each other. Like in a screaming match and tufts of fur flying. They cram so many cats into one enclosure, it's sad really. There were also children banging on the cats enclosures. No one there to stop them from harassing the cats.I tried to look past all this, and eventually found a cat I liked. On the exit exam, they told me she had pink eye and sent me home with some medication. But on the ride home, I noticed the cat was sneezing and sounded like she couldn't breathe. I thought maybe it was the cardboard container she was put in until I got home and the sneezing didn't stop. She had a runny nose, pink eye, was sneezing and wheezing. So I tried MULTIPLE times to contact the shelter. No replies. So the next morning I had to drive an hour BACK to the shelter to see a vet. They confirmed what I had thought. They cat was diagnosed with a upper respiratory infection. I tried to tell them the cat I had got had also been with other kittens but I was brushed off. So I headed back home. While the prices for the animals are nice, this shelter has MUCH to work on. Communication, staff manners, and keeping a cleaner environment. Until these are fixed I highly advise you to look for a different shelter that isn't over run, and a shelter that doesn't give you sick animals right off the bat.

My partner and I were not planning to adopt any time soon, but that completely changed when we met our sweet Nymeria. We are beyond overjoyed to give this angel her fur-ever home with all the snuggles, treats, and belly scratches she could ever want! Our hearts are so full and it’s all thanks to the amazing and compassionate staff at Cedar Bend!Thank you for taking exceptional care of her and all animals that come to you! 🐾❤️Like the staff at Cedar Bend say… it’s not spoiled, it’s well-loved

So far Zena is eating good, resting well, cuddling lots and getting use to her new surroundings and fur family. She is well mannered. Has not so much as barked once. She is such a sweetie! We really believe she is the best fit for our home and family and we Thank the wonderful staff for recommending her and the loving care she received while in the short time she was there. Much appreciation, Janet R. Olson and Gary A. McClain.

We adopted a wonderful Labradoodle here. He was extremely shy but he has done a complete 180 since coming to his furever home. He loves everyone as long as they come in quietly.

We adopted our cat, Finley, from here last October and she has been the best addition to our family. I'd adopt all of the animals if I could! The staff and volunteers are helpful and friendly! They run specials pretty often for discounts on the animals which is nice. I go here frequently just to visit the animals.

We adopted a 12 yr old handsome boy named Elvis, as soon as he got here, he walked the fenced in area without a leash, then found the dog bed, and has been sleeping since.

Shared all of their dogs and kitties with me. They have soooo many sweet kittens who need homes! Very knowledgeable and informative. Anything useful you could donate, WILL be used. I had a bag of ferret food and not having any ferrets or the intention of adopting one, Cedar Bend now has it. Please donate!!!

We had a very good experience here to adopt two kittens. Lots of time was spent allowing us to get to know the kitties and make sure the kitties would get along. The adoption process was thorough and the kitties were vet checked before being released. Plan on spending some time there when you are ready to adopt but it is worth it. Wish we could have brought home 10 more! :)

The staff and volunteers at the humane society and adoption center, are extraordinarily nice and helpful and seem to always be going above and beyond. They are short-staffed and overwhelmed at times, but they stay friendly and productive and get through people as fast as they can. My daughter adopted her first kitten today, and it was such a pleasant experience even though they were super busy. If you can't adopt, you should definitely consider donating to this wonderful establishment.

My boyfriend and I adopted a cat back in May through this particular facility. The adoption process was quick and simple, though they didn’t give us an opportunity to rename our cat which whatever no big deal. The workers were friendly. What is frustrating is we had tried scheduling an appointment for our cat to be neutered through them, and we had called at least 5 times and left voicemails each time. Only one call was returned but we both work 8-5 so we missed the call. So we then got our cat neutered at another vet clinic in September. We then tried contacting them (Cedar Bend) an additional 5 times to give them the information. Again no calls answered or returned. Then we get a letter saying if they don’t have the info our cat will be seized! We called more times and even left a voicemail with the information requested. AGAIN, no call back. AGAIN, another letter was received saying if they don’t have the information our cat will be seized. We have now emailed and called and even had the other vet clinic call. At this point we’ll have to go in and physically give them a copy of the information, which I made an additional copy of because at this point who knows if it’ll be lost. I understand this is primarily volunteer based but I think it’s a bit ridiculous to threaten you’re going to seize an animal when you have the information already and don’t return any calls. If you plan to adopt here I suggest just going in person right away to give the info for neuter/spay because none of your calls will be answered nor returned.

I took my cat here the day she died. The lady that was at the desk was so very kind and understanding. Very empathetic and professional. Since that day I've rescued/adopted another cat. I like that they are very cautious and follow a strict guidelines to be able to rescue/adopt an animal. They really care that they get a good home.
