To say I was nervous walking in would be an understatement. However Dr. Tom and his lovely wife Amy did an extraordinary job making sure I was comfortable and calm and in zero pain and I mean zero pain and my tooth was very hard to extract, came out in six different pieces, took way longer than a normal extraction should. I highly recommend if you need a tooth removed or anything else that Dr. Tom covers call them or stop by they normally fit you in that day they take all kinds of different payment super laid-back probably the best dental experience I’ve ever had. Surprisingly he’s been there almost 30 years!! I wish more dental offices knew about him and referred him. I was in pain for a year when I didn’t have to be. Amy you were great today!! Thanks so much you two!!!

Dr. Tom is truly exceptional! He is an expert in extractions, earning him the title of the extraction king. Although this review may be lengthy, I must share my experience. As a cancer survivor, my teeth were negatively affected by chemotherapy. Due to my health history, some dentists refused to treat me. However, I found one dentist who successfully extracted two teeth without any issues. Unfortunately, when it came to my left bottom wisdom tooth, it proved to be a challenging task. The tooth broke off, leaving the root exposed. The pain I experienced was excruciating, the worst I had ever felt. I reached out to oral surgeons and dentists, but the earliest appointment I could secure was in March, and the cost was over $1,000. I felt utterly hopeless and considered ending my misery. That's when I discovered Dr. Tom. I called his office, and they accommodated me on the same day. During my initial visit, Dr. Tom examined my x-rays and identified that the tooth was in three pieces. He acknowledged the curve and expressed the need for his assistant's presence during the procedure. He immediately administered a numbing agent to alleviate my pain and scheduled me for the extraction on Monday. I deeply appreciated his honesty and commitment to ensuring the best possible outcome. On Monday, I arrived at his office, and right from the start, Dr. Tom displayed a great sense of humor. As someone who struggles with severe anxiety, commonly known as white coat syndrome, his ability to break the ice was immensely helpful. Not only did he possess a sense of humor, but he also took my anxiety into consideration and guided me through the entire process. I admired his communication style while I was in his chair. Remarkably, I experienced no pain throughout the procedure. When he informed me that he had successfully removed the tooth, tears of relief filled my eyes. I finally felt like I could regain control of my life. Dr. Tom's wife was present to assist him, and she did an outstanding job. Together, they formed an incredible team. It is evident that Dr. Tom is genuinely passionate about helping people, rather than solely focusing on financial gain like so many assume about doctors. He defies the stereotype that doctors don't care. This man truly cares. Thank you Dr. Tom and your wife! -Kathleen Booker

I had been suffering for two weeks, trying to get an appointment anywhere to get a tooth out, I made two appointments but one was two weeks out and the other three weeks out. Talking to people about my situation I had two of the dental offices recommend interstate dental, one was the actual dentist, and two people from work. Dr. Romer and his dental assistant Amy were nothing short of amazing, very understand answered all my questions, Amy was very knowledgeable and kind, and Dr Romer made me feel comfortable and relaxed, he truly is the extraction king 😆, highly recommend to anyone, thanks again!!

I have been in pain for the last few days so today I started my day off at Intersate Dental. Dr Tom took time making sure I was comfortable as possible and making sure I was not feeling pain that I really felt at ease. He spends more time making sure your experience is pain free than the time it takes to extract the tooth. I just wish he was full service. If I ever need his services again, or any of my friends do, I am sending them to see him.

I have an irrational fear of the dentist and this was an easy experience. I needed a tooth pulled and the doc made sure I barely felt a thing and without judgement at that! Highly recommend.

My wife Tonya had a tooth removal scheduled for 10:30 today 8/24/23. We were a little skeptical about coming here, never been and came on a referral. Was a little late getting started due to a couple people getting worked on ahead of her. Went back at 10:45 to get numbed up, then went back a little after 11. When my wife came out she was very happy about the work done. She said it was the best tooth removal experience of her life. Had no pain or discomfort during process. So far minimal soreness at home. She said she wished he had a full practice, said she would come to him full time. Very personable dentist & receptionist. Highly recommended. Thank you very much.

In response to Kayla Scruggs one star review, she was not even calling for herself but for a friend of hers. We DO IN FACT have an oxygen tank on site. However her friend she was calling for was a little apprehensive about coming in as they have a history of getting light headed. We suggested they would be more comfortable at an oral surgeon. So again, a NON patient leaving a bad review. 🙄I find it interesting that Dr. Roemer‘s one star reviews deal with individuals who are NOT actually patients; but individuals who feel the need to complain. In reference to Brandon E and his “partially” honest review. Brandon, when making your appointment I believe you were told that this office accepts Iowa State aid for “most simple extractions.” in addition, you were also told that you would need to wait while they would work you in between their regular scheduled patients; they would get you in at the soonest available appointment. It is not uncommon for people to wait two to three hours with state aid simply because he has already scheduled appointments ahead of you. You are correct in that the Doctor doesn’t accept state aid for difficult extractions. It is true that you could either pay the regular fee or choose to go to a different office that will accept your state aid for a difficult extraction. The reason his office even takes state aid is because he wants to help those less fortunate that don’t have regular insurance. “Ugh” is correct because it is one star posts like yours that makes them not want to take state aid at all. Obviously, Others will see through your 1 star post and read what actual patients….. say not just people who have a history of writing 1 star reviews.

Had trouble getting into in to see a dentist, then I called the dentist at the truckstop that came highly recommended and I was in within the hr, had 2 teeth pulled, the dentist is wonderful very helpful. I will begin to continue seeing them when ever I need help the the teethTHANK YOU SO MUCH

All I can say is Thank You God for this place. Pain for 6 day with only 3 of those days able to sleep, pain at 100. Dr Tom an amazing, funny Denist, can I say no pain with my extraction. I saved the best for last ..JACKIE, the receptionist.! From the beginning to the end she was just wow, amazing personality, personable and sweet. 5 STARS EASY. THANK YOU.!!!

I just had my 1st wisdom tooth pulled from Dr Thomas and he was AMAZING! Coming from a young adult, I felt he was super comforting and encouraging. I will definitely be coming back for the rest! The front desk lady was very nice and helpful as well.All around GREAT experience.

Just went on today. Called this morning with a VERY bad toothache and they got me on same day! I didn't even know this place was here but I will DEFINITELY be back! Did not feel any pain including the numbing shots which has never been the case. Him and his wife were very laid back which kept me at ease. The dentist was super nice and caring! Highly recommend!

I needed a cracked molar pulled. I had broken it in Dec and had zero discomforts until January (other than my tongue getting cut). Once the pain started, I called around to the dentist that my insurance accepted... found one, and sadly, after $ talk and saying all paid in full, they said April. I was in tears with this pain!! A dear friend told me about Interstate Dental. I was hesitant about going to a truck stop. But.. honestly, I'm so glad I called! They are a very respectful office!! Very caring! Quick! And inexpensive!!!! I paid with care credit. I called and was in and out within an hr and 15 mins! X-rays- Numbing- educational info & extraction!!!!!Thank you so much for helping me and getting me in ASAP!!!THANK YOU JESSICA FOR RECOMMENDING THEM!!!

I was told I needed to go to an oral surgeon. None of them took my insurance and wanted thousands for 1 tooth!! Someone told me to go to I-80 truck stop. I was hesitant.. a dentist in a truck stop 🤔 with nothing to lose I went and it was the BEST decision!! Dr. Tom and his wife are awesome 👌 When people say 'I felt no pain' their not lying!! Matter of fact, I fell asleep in the chair! Dr. Tom saved me thousands and he has the best bedside manner. He's so funny! Couldn't ask for a better experience and I have been telling everyone if you need a tooth pulled go to Dr. Tom at I-80 truck stop!!

i’ve been suffering in utter agony for months, unable to be seen by any dentists for an extraction do to bookings.. I called Dr. Roemer an he was able to get me in for an xray and removal with ZERO pain the exact same day i called! When i tell you i will NEVER take my business anywhere else other than Interstate Dental! Very friendly, helpful, and fast!

Called Saturday afternoon and they were out of town, met me at the office that same afternoon and pulled my broken tooth. In and out in 30 minutes and completely pain free 5 minutes after I got there. Highly recommend, great staff and awesome doctor!!!!

This is the best dentist I have ever been to. Dr. Tom is great. He pulled a problem tooth very easy and professionally. He also fixed a chipped tooth I had to make my smile beautiful. I highly recommend him,and his assistant Slim was pretty good too. If you're uneasy about going to the dentist, this is the place to go, he made it all so easy and very comfortable. 10 stars. Absolutely the BEST.

I highly recommend Interstate Dental. I got in extremely fast, and the staff is great. My grandfather, Dr. Fred Glade, was a dentist, and I know what exceptional care is! They made me feel comfortable, and went over what needs to be done very thoroughly. They are for sure the best place around for emergency dental care.

Dr Tom was the Bomb! I was so nervous to get my wisdom tooth out and him and his staff did a awesome job at making me feel comfortable. He is hilarious and very friendly. Best part yet some of the numbing part I didn't even feel. You can tell He loves what he does and he loves to help others. I will definitely be back! not to mention I called and they got me in next day! Everywhere else was 4 to 6 weeks out. Pretty amazing! Thanks again! I can finally sleep 😴

I was in his office today and he could not pull my tooth, I was devastated and he could tell. My pain level all weekend was at a 10 and when I walked out of there I felt so confident I was treated well and he did everything he could for me. After finally getting to sleep and eat I feel like a whole new person highly recommend

Literally the least traumatic experience I have ever had getting a tooth pulled. The dentist and the front desk woman (Slim) are personable and amazing. If anyone needs emergency care, this is the ONLY place I would recommend. They are beyond what could be expected out of a dental office!!!
