I, LOVE, ice cream. So when I heard about this small, little, hole in the wall, ice cream joint, I had to go see what all the rave was. HOLY proportion! They don’t skimp at all! Prepare to wait a few minutes, as this is the place to go, but they can make up items quickly! It’s worth the wait! Great service; and would definitely stop again.

Oh my gosh! So to begin with there will be a line. I believe there were 20-25 people waiting to order and just as many waiting to pick up their order. This will be worth the wait. Everyone is friendly so waiting is kinda fun.The portions are ginormous. Ordered a banana split and chocolate shake. They don't skimp on anything. The shake tasted...well chocolately. It was thick to boot. The banana split was epic. I will just post a photo. It is big enough for two people.First time we drove by we saw the crowd waiting and decided not to stop. Second time we thought we would hang out and try it.This is our official ice cream place ♥️♥️♥️

My cousin and I followed the line of customers to this wonderful ice cream shop near the pier in Ventura. The large tornadoes shown here are vanilla with Twix mix-ins and black raspberry with Kit-Kat mix-ins. The blend of the soft serve ice cream with the chunks of candy was a good blend to keep my taste buds activated. I saw many different customers all walk away with different treats and none of them seemed dissappointed. It is a nice stop when taking a ride around Clear Lake and I praise the staff for doing their best to keep up with high demands. Fantastic!!

Nostalgia comes with a price and a hefty one at that. This was my first visit and it will be the last. Cheeseburger and a small shake for $15. I don't mind paying a high price for a good meal. Basic frozen burger patty and ice cream that's mediocre at best after waiting 17 minutes? I can understand waiting that long if they weren't busy but there was 6 other people there 2 orders including the people behind me. I'm just going to pass like I always have.

I got the small cookies and cream shake. When it came out, the whipped cream was all over the sides, and about to fall off completely. The shake tasted like straight milk, and the whipped cream had no flavor. Also, the prices are so expensive and the ice cream took a long time too come out.

I love this place every time I go I get the black raspberry malt if you’re just driving through I highly recommend that you stop by if you live close you should go at least three times a summer the best time is after a long day at the beach

Need an ice cream fix? This is your place. The portions are huge. You may need to wait a few more extra moments but it's worth the wait. I always come here when I'm out this way.

As everyone points out, the serving sizes are HUGE! A small could easily be split between 2 adults. You will get a lot of ice cream for your money. I used to go here 20+ years ago when I was kid and don't remember getting so much ice cream! :DMy only complaint is since it has been so long since going here, I had no idea it was cash only and I feel they REALLY need a card machine. It would make everything so much smoother and easier. We were one of the people that had to go to the Ventura Mart looking for an ATM but it was out of order and Ventura Mart won't let you do cash back on purchases for the sole reason that people come from the Viking looking for cash and would wipe them out. Totally understandable. We were able to get cash but everyone may not be lucky when trying to do this.

Black raspberry yogurt is amazing and the only reason for a 3 star... the service on the other hand was not. Disappointed on our last visit. After realizing they take cash or check only and last time I paid cash, I had to go to my vehicle which was parked on a busy street, get back in line, which it is what it is, and reorder. HOWEVER, the girl taking my order failed to pass along what we ordered so 6 ppl behind us got served before she even realized she didn't say anything about our order. Then it took another 10 minutes to get 4 small dishes of frozen yogurt, with nothing on them. I almost asked for my check back and left but for the sake of my children and husband, I waited.

The ice cream (vanilla) was delicious and the size of a medium cone was unbelievable. I could of shared it and still had my share. Will definitely go back again. Anxious to try there Black raspberry 😋

I gave a huge rave On rant and rave how much I love the Viking restaurant in Ventura and how I try to go there at least once a week and how I love the Viking restaurant but every sense the owner has stepped away from it the kids that work there when you call they get smart with you on the phone to place an order or they giggle and laugh at you! But today I got a medium twist in a cup today and it was so milky runny that it was dripping all over my hand before I even got it to my new car and I wind up throwing it out because it was dripping everywhere it was like it was just straight milk or mix! And this is what happens when no one‘s regulating what they’re doing I get this all over my brand new 2022 Silverado thanks Viking! Hey before one of you come up with some comment you might it’s not even a hot day!

Recently moved to the area and was excited to try The Viking icecream shop that Ive heard about. Unfortunately I dont think I will be back. The ice cream (once we got it) was wonderful and you get MORE then enough with a small BUT the 5 highschoolers running it last night were obnoxious, rude and seemed like it was just a hangout for them rather then focusing on customers orders. I watched them call out cones and dishes that were made and gone again and again while we waited for 2 shakes and 1 tornado. Needless to say, it really ruined our ice cream outing.

The small is the size of a large almost anywhere else you go for ice cream. A large cone is basically a quart stacked in a cone. The ice cream is smooth & they're extremely quick with service! If you go near Ventura & want ice cream, The Viking is a MUST!

When we asked how big a small was we were told it was a "good size" that's an understatement. Not one of the 5 who got a small bowl or cone could finish it! Pictures would be helpful. Two of us got twists but it was a swirl of one flavor topped by the other repeated. Odd. When we asked if we could sit inside the response was not positive so we sat at the middle school but saw a customer sitting inside as we walked back to our cars.

This ice cream shop is high on my list of all time ice cream shops I've been to.The ice cream is very creamy and the toppings are amazing. Cookie dough is probably my favorite.Side note: the serving sizes are very generous (which is another reason I like it there) so keep that in mind when ordering. In usually get a small and it's about the size of a large compared to most other shops.

The food is decent for a little quaint ice cream shop. However the children working there need supervision or to learn attention to detail. Our order was wrong and missing items. Also what should have taken 5 min to make, took 20 min without anyone's order in front of us. Lake life is relaxing and at a slower pace yes however, for a seasonal shop, I'd be disappointed in my staff.

Unfortunately, we didn't know it was cash or check only so only 2 of our family members got ice cream this round . The portions were big and it was delicious! I was a little surprised by the prices. $5 for a cone was a little shocking. It does seem that teens run the place. While they weren't inappropriate, they could use a little guidance in interacting with people. Overall we enjoyed our stop here and probably will be back on our next trip to Ventura....with cash!

I absolutely love this place. It has the best creamy ice cream I have ever had. I asked for a small and it came out like a large. The ice cream comes are huge. The flavor I get is black raspberry I recommend this place. I live not to far away from it so I go there very often. I give it a 5 star of how it looks and how the line move very quickly.

Prolly just short staffed. But super long wait (13 min) for only 3 families (9 people) ahead of us in line. Ordered Strawberry SMOOTHIE....Got SHAKE OR Malt thickness. No adults I could see, working with the younger crew. That's why I ranked 4 stars instead of 3. I give them a "pass" for them maybe not knowing what a smoothie is. Lol ...oh well... Great environment. Friendly staff! Glad they there

This is one the best places for Ice Cream hands down! You may have to wait for a bit in line but it is worth the wait. They have a large selection of choices followed by even larger cones shakes and assortments of Ice cream. If it's a hot summer day and your by lake it's a must

Its one of those little gems you find in a small town near a lake. They make good malts and there's always soft serve ice cream. They have grilled food as well. Stop in, buy whatever crave, and drive down the road to the parking area by the lake and enjoy the view.

Staff are very Courteous and the service is fast the icecream is so delicious and plentiful ! I've been there before when there was a line that looked like a line for a concert so all in all its definitely a 5 star place to take friends or family Great job guys I live in Garner and I take my wife there pretty much every day for there delicious raspberry cone huge one at that ! ! !

Great ice cream- and huge portions. There’s not a bad ice cream treat on the menu (sans the Tornado). Don’t bother with the other fare, as it’s pretty standard. You can get just as good at Culver’s. Definitely recommend the peanut butter and jelly shake or any flavor of cone.Cash only can be a bit irritating, though there is an ATM within a 10 minute walk.
