Pizza was phenomenal! I had the deep-dish crust Supreme type pizza and cheese sticks, it was delicious! The waitress was a little hard of hearing and didn't ask if she could seat us at a booth when we told her we were here to order dinner. ( we sat at the bar as the other 3 or 4 tables were full) I had never been here before, so I was unaware of their being a whole other dining room. I noticed that as I was leaving the resturant and used the restrooms.. I would have preferred to sit at a table or booth. And even though we were so close to bar tender/ server, she seemed like she had a hard time hearing as I asked for a to-go box 3 times before she heard me. All in all though I would recommend this as a great local pizza place.

Stopped today for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Very cute place. We started with the antler app combo. All was delish. I ordered a flatbread with pepperoni, sauerkraut, and pineapple. It came with FRESH cut pineapple and it was very good. The only thing that would have made it better was some mikes hot honey! It was a big flatbread so i got to take some home and put the hot honey on it...perfection! Everyone loved their meals and it was incredibly affordable. Our server was nice but we waited a long time for her to come back so we could get some boxes and our check. We went to the back and grabbed her attention that way. May have been shift change time, not sure. All n all we will be back!

It's been almost 5 years since I have eaten here at the Crooked Antler. I came through and remembered the last time I stopped the food was awesome. The food was just as great as the previous trip. The staff were super friendly and the atmosphere was good also as the local patrons were talkative and seemed like very kind people. The only unpleasant part of my experience was the rain, sleet and snow I ran into on the way home. They have food and drinks and it is a stop you will surely like as well. Enjoy!

Place is a great little gem for a small town. New owners has done a fantastic job with improving the quality and selection of the food. The wait staff is always happy and friendly. It is a very busy place at times so patience is a key but remember it is busy for a reason.

The server was great and I love supporting a small business but I am super disappointed in the quality of the food. I ordered a chicken taco wrap and took a bite and thought I had a piece of a bone from the chicken or something. I pulled it out and the chicken was so dried up and hard as a rock I couldn’t even take a bite out of it. Then they gave me a beef one and it was cold and the meat was once again dry. Super disappointed and probably won’t be back as I lost my appetite with how bad the meat was. I am pretty sure this meat was old and wouldn’t have passed an inspection it was that bad.

Our waitress was great. The food arrived in a reasonable time. However my boneless wings arrived and were half the size of the other person at our table. The portion sizes were not consistent. Nice surroundings but need to work on the portion sizes or consistency.

Food was a amazing. Unfortunately, the service sucked. Felt bad for waitress she was trying her best to help multiple tables avg. About 20 people total but couldn't keep up with refilling drinks, placing food orders and couldn't remember the order tables were seated. Took about 25 minutes to get our check.

Since moving to Van Horne in Feb. 2015 we have tried most of the menu and had fantastic food every time. Great food, great drinks and a fun rustic atmosphere that we enjoy bringing friends and family to. We dine there at least once a week!

If you happen by a little sleepy town called Van Horne Iowa, I thoroughly recommend you stop in to the Crooked Antler restaurant.A fantastic experience for a small-town atmosphere. This place is filled with fantastic local folks who are very polite only looking to live life and to share with Neighbors and Friends, I recommend you to peruse the entire menu, but my favorite light meal was the 818 wrap with alvocado with a glass of Pinot wine fantastic! If you do not want alcohol there's other beverages that, I would recommend for this particular meal, perhaps lemonade! The service staff was more than excellent, courteous and very efficient. I had a great experience dining in and enjoyed the atmosphere, and cuisine! Very nice! Very clean!

Good food. Good service. Only reason for the 4 stars is the interior is very nice and well kept but everything is a hard surface so the sound bounces around and it can be rather loud when crowded. Also, if there is an event at Benton Community, get there early as seating is limited.

The Crooked Antler just catered a wedding at our house and the did a FANTASTIC JOB! The food was excellent! We had pulled pork with red roasted potatoes and other sides. Would highly recommend them and can't wait to go and try out the restaurant!

used to get pizza there occasionally but it appears they changed the way it's made. Now its paper thin biscuit tasting crust with the cheapest cheese and sausage. I have been more satisfied with a frozen tombstone pizza. definitely not worth the $30 price tag for two pizza's.

This is a great small town gem to stop and eat at while out on the road if in the area. The food is great and reasonably priced and the employees are very nice.
