We have been more than happy with the care my mother has received at Birkwood Village of Tama/Toledo. Her apartment is spacious and comfortable, and the staff has been caring and responsive to her needs. I would highly recommend Birkwood to someone who is looking for an assisted living apartment for either themselves or a loved one. We are so thankful to have this option in our community!

Birkwood is a great facility to have in our community. The staff is always very polite and welcoming. Birkwood offers many events to the community such as Easter egg hunts, blood drives, soup suppers, trick-or-treat, coffee on Kaleigh, facials, and many more. The facility is very clean, spacious, and inviting.

Birkwood is an exceptional facility with compassionate and caring staff. Birkwood provides multiple inclusive opportunities for the tenants within the facility as well as within the community. Providing various levels of care from Independent, assisted, and memory care options allows families and tenants to select and receive the appropriate care needed to optimize their quality of life. I felt very comfortable with my grandpa receiving care at Birkwood.

I provide an exercise program two Wednesdays out of a month. The village is always clean and everyone is ready to help you when you arrive, with a smile. The tenants are great and seem to be happy as there is always something to do during the day.

Very friendly and accommodating residence. Staff is attentive from the front line staff to the director. Excellent activities director who interacts with community and residents to ensure connection with the local resources and businesses.

They don't check on residents my friend had a medical event and it took me to tell them I was going to call an ambulance for someone there to see if he was ok.. they also don't have a nurse there 24 hrs a day so if there is a urgent medical situation they have to call in nurse in and no telling how long that would take.
