Also known as Hunts Cedar River Campground . We have been camping here for over 17 years. The new owners that bought the campground in 2022 are not nice people (swearing all the time!). They are hot heads and liars. They have gotten rid of over 40 plus seasonal families in the 12 months it has been in operation in their care. All for different reasons and made up stories that Melissa makes out of one small truth. They keep your money and re-rent the seasonal site in some cases. In many cases deposits are never given back either. Quiet hour is not followed with loud music and karaoke on the river all hours of the night. Labor Day Weekend they played until 2 - 2:30 in the morning waking my grandkids up 3 different times. The newest rule they made is nobody can access the Cedar River from their banks UNLESS you use their son's float business. Because as the owner said "We have to make money some how!" The weekend after Labor Day they had a sock hop which people were doing shots of Fire Ball. One man who had to much to drink loaded his golf cart with kids and that golf cart ended up in the Cedar River with kids being taken out by ambulance to the hospital. We knew then we were pulling our camper out for sure. Nothing but drama BUT the owners will tell you that those 40 plus families were the drama! Before you camp here look Al & Melissa Zweerink up. Look at all the reviews on the different camping sites from the past 2 summers. Its so sad to see such a beautiful place run into the ground.

Map on website is not 100% accurate. We booked spots by the pavilion. Per the map, the pavilion was further away, compared to right next door. They did move an event since we were right there. Which was nice. We were just expecting way more grassy area. The tube rental/float the River they offer seems overly priced. $30 per person/float includes a tube, life vest, and a “shuttle” (old school bus) to the input spot. The pool was nice! The kids had fun. The water was really cold for being mid August though!

When we called to reserve a site we asked for two things, full hook up and be able to get satellite (Direct TV). The person was very nice on the phone stating she had a site for us. We backed into site which was tight but do-able. My husband plugged in our power surge protector and it showed issues. The owners weren't there but she did call back, gave us a few choices of other sites which we didn't fit. She even had someone (I assume CG Host) drive my husband around looking at other possible sites. None would work for our rig. We were disappointed but had no choice to look else where. We asked for refund and were told according to the cancellation policy nothing would be due. She did say she'd tell them it was an emergency and would see if they (who "they" are I don't know, possibly management company) would do anything but it's been 2 days and have heard nothing. It wasn't like we said "changed our minds, we don't want to stay here". We had no choice!

If you have ever had to pull over on the side of the interstate and thought it was a great time, then you would love this place! Being close to the interstate is an understatement you are literally in the ditch of I-80. You do not need to worry about outdoor lighting because they’ve got 2 massive billboards that shine bright all night long. This was probably the worst place we have ever stayed. The sites are extremely tight and in poor shape. Campground is extremely dirty and neglected.

I've been here for 5 years. Its my summer home and i stay 24/7. Our new owners have made such a difference. They have worked so hard cleaning up this campground and it's going to continue to get even better. It's like a small community, you can partake in all the activities or just enjoy your site and peacefulness. There is not a place I would rather be!

Got there Friday night Aug 18 and Interstate 80 noise was so bad we couldn’t hear each other by the fire. Had to wear earplugs to sleep. Also we were right under a huge lighted billboard. Had to put towels over windows to block the light out. Saturday was the tanking float. They said it would take just over 5 hours. They were wrong, it took 8 hours and we hardly stopped the whole way. Was the worst camping experience ever.

I just went to hang out with my niece there but the pool is very nice they look like they were having horseshoe tournaments so that looked fun but other than right inside there I didn't go much further so I don't have too much to offer as in what they have the amenities and such. But from what I did see I'll definitely be backNearby activities: Pool & daily activities

Nice campground with very attentive hosts. Great place to stop for the night in your camper if traveling I-80. The campground is big and has plenty of full-hook up sites and things to do, but the campsites are small and very close to your neighbors. Not enough fire pits and picnic tables. There was one table and one fire pit between us and the neighbors. There is a decent pool and a old mini golf course. The shower house is at the top of the hill quit aways from the camper sites. The campground is situated right on the cedar river. Overall the campground is decent, but very outdated. It is under new management and I think they are trying to make it nicer. Overall the place is okay and we had fun, but don't expect shiny and new it ain't that.

We LOVE it here!New owners Rock, are Very accomadating. They are always around and easy to find when or if you have ANY questions. They have really made this place so much better and family friendly then last year. So many things for kids to do now.The campground is clean and has a pool. We spend most of our days at the pool. We have a permanent spot out here. We are so so thankful for all the hard work the new owners put in for us to truly have a home away from home.Got to camp here.

We were seasonal campers and decided not to renew for several reason for the 2023 season. Glad we didn’t now. Went back this week to grab items from our site and when I got there it looked like WW2. Debris everywhere from them tearing down old trailers, sheds and other buildings. Their equipment flying up and down the lanes carrying debris. I was told to watch out for their kids and animals when in fact they should have been the way they were driving around. When I got home I noticed a 4” nail in one of my tires causing me to buy two new ones since the other two were in decent shape still. Message Melissa about this and she refuses to respond or help with the cost of one tire. Place was always having issues, pool green, mini golf ran down, etc.

This place is great if you need to pull off the highway for a night's sleep. It is VERY loud. Not real well kept. My electricity kept tripping at the pole. I have never had issues before at any other campgrounds. I could run my air and my hot water heater. If I turned my fridge to electric it would trip. I would not recommend this place for a weekend stay.

For many years this has been a great campground. New owners have ruined it now. Evicted all the long term campers that have permanent mobile homes. My whole family has been there for years. They have ruined many peoples lives with no disregard for the time and money we have invested. I wouldn't recommend this place to any we have always kept a beautiful landscaped lot investing hundred of dollars every summer. Don't waste your time or money at this campground.

The last couple years this place has has issues. We understood because the previous owners were past ready to retire. That being said It has been sold!!! Unfortunately the loyal permanent site renters and owners of their cabins have been targeted and evicted for no broken rules . Let alone the weekenders who have been harassed and also kicked out four outdoor fun. Maybe a Band B or a hotel would have been a better fit for these current owners. If you want a good safe time. 0 out of ten recommend!!!!!!

Wonderful experience, wonderful staff! Lots of weekend activities they have many Putt-Putt swimming pool pool yard games like bags and ladder ball. Plenty of fun for kids of all ages. The only reason I wouldn't give it a five star is it's right along the i-80 and if you're in Rose a through c you do hear the highway noise all night long.

I love the family atmosphere, I haven't been back here since I was a teenager and they've expanded so much and added so much for the kids. Definitely a go to if you're into camping and family time! 😊 We went down to visit family for the 4th of July and enjoyed some fireworks. Which were pretty great! We had front row seating.

The worst part of the experience was the noise from the interstate. You are so close that at night when you lay there trying to sleep, it feels as if you're in the middle of the interstate, and it never quiets down. The spots are VERY small and if you have slideouts, you'll practically be touching your neighbors. There seemed to be a lot of long term campers there and many of those spots were not well groomed. The pool was fine, except there was no posting regarding the hours near the pool or mini golf. We tried going there around 6-7 p.m. on Friday night and everything was closed. It stayed open much later on Saturday night, but on Sunday when we pulled out at 11 a.m., everything was still closed up. There seemed to be no pattern and no signage around the area. The riverfront was nice and we enjoyed some time down there, but overall, we do not plan to return to this campground.

Worst campground I have ever stayed at. First the site we were told to go to was occupied. I called the number at the bottom of the paper I was given and explained that my site was occupied. The girl on the phone seemed to be more interested in something other than me and hurriedly gave me another site. I have a 24 foot RV and it barely cleared the road in front of my site. The site was on a hillside and was easily 2 foot uneven from back to front in just a 24 foot span. The entire area near the hookups smelled so strong of sewer and flies were everywhere. Our site was no more than 150 yards from Interstate 80. There is a bridge there with expansion joints. Every vehicle that went over them made a thud-thud. I counted the hours until we could leave. Originally I was going to give it a 2 star rating but after reading my own review I lowered it to a 1 star review. I will never stay there again.

Staff and owner are extremely friendly. Great price. This is right next to interstate 80 and you can hear everything that drives by. It’s very loud. Shower house was clean. There isn’t a handicap shower at all. The other bathrooms were a hot mess. One stall was out of service and there were dead bugs everywhere and I mean everywhere. Washer and dryer were pretty expensive for how small they were. Pool was nice but again not handicapped accessible.

This is the worst camp ground we've stayed at over the past weeks. We have traveled from Ohio to Montana and back to Ohio and this place was the worst. The web site doesn't tell you if the sites are or are not gravel or black top. This would be nice for the campers to know. Also we drive a dodge ram rebel and pull a travel camper only 21 ft long and we had a little trouble getting out. It was a little ran down in my opinion and could use some tlc. We will never stay again and would not recommend.

Nice place well taken care of. The caretakers are extremely nice and accommodating. I travel all over the U.S. for work and this is the first time ever a caretaker helped me set up my camper. Pretty cool! It's about a 2 minute walk to the river they have many amenities and its a pretty cool community.

Numerous activities for all ages, from relaxing by the inground pool, to enjoying mini golf, a tournament of bags, horse shoes, and even a game of volleyball. There is a basketball court, a game room, and a small snack shack if you get the munchies or just need something to drink. You can end your day with a quiet walk along the river front at sunset. Make sure to bring your fur babies so they can run and play in the large fenced-in doggie park. We had a great time can't wait to go again.

Kind of noisy from the interstate. But friendly hosts and A nice campsite. Lots for the kids to do. And the cedar river right next to you for fishing, tubing or boating.Playground: Yes friendly campgroundRestrooms: Clean and showers were nice and hot..Dog-friendliness: Dog friendly just can't have pitbulls.Picnic area: A lot of unlevel ground, make sure you have plenty of blocks and a good level.

Definitely not a fan. This camp ground is right off the freeway and has a lot of highway noise. The staff is incredibly disrespectful. My sons were having trouble in the shower house and my wife went in to see what was going on with my boys. An older park manager comes in and gets confrontational with my wife. He got in her face about being in the men's room with my boys. All this while she was dealing with four boys who were fighting and tired after a long day.The lady called us at the Jamboree in Walcott and wanted us to come back to move from the spot they put us. We declined and she was pretty irritated with us.Camp sites are very very close.Pool and mini golf were not open during normal hours. No way in hell will we be back.

The expressway noise was unbelievable and the bathrooms were grungy. There were a lot of campers there, so it must have appeal for many because of the activities, but for two people who need a night of sleep and a shower it was awful. No usable plugs in the bathroom, I had to dry my hair outside the office.
