For her last big meal yesterday before having eye surgery this morning Pam was craving a hot beef sandwich from the Coffee Cup Cafe in Sully, we jumped in the jeep and off we went.I've eaten the hot beef once or twice in the past but sadly can no longer eat beef due to having gout. Pam's hot beef sandwich was off the charts in deliciousness as per usual, she's remarked more than once it's the very best she's ever eaten. I picked the tenderloin, as pork has no effect on me and I totally love it. Both meals were exceptional, which is no surprise at the Coffee Cup Cafe. I will be ordering another tenderloin just as soon as I'm hungry again. The meat was a beautiful golden brown and very tender, a nice cut of pork, properly prepared, the tomato was actually quite good and tasted fresh like it was vine ripened. I love the buns used on their sandwiches and the bread for the hot beef sandwiches, it's my understanding they're made fresh daily at a bakery in Pella, a Dutch town close by. I ask the kitchen if they could make my tenderloin angry by adding a handful of sauteed jalapenos which they did.I give this little off the beaten path cafe, located in a small Iowa town my very highest recommendation along with my coveted cleaned plate award. We've eaten here a number of times and have never once been disappointed. The Coffee Cup Cafe also offers a nice variety of fresh pies made daily, that are out of this world. Doesn't matter where you live, this restaurant is well worth the drive.* The Hot Beef Sandwich shown is a half order.

Quiet little cafe situated in the heart of Sully, IA. Welcoming comfortable atmosphere. Server was very pleasant and announced their special. She checked on us regularly and was very polite. Ordered the reuben and fries. All was delicious and cooked just right. Coffee was also good. Pie is offered at the end of the meal. Wife had the chicken-bacon-melt with a pasta salad and said it was great tasting as well. We are coming back for breakfast since we heard they have phenomenal huge fluffy pancakes. Overall a good experience and well priced.

I thought this was a pretty good place to eat. A simple menu with simple foods but prepared well. My wife got a hot beef which she liked & I got a chicken bacon melt which was very good. Their hours of business are kind of varied with them mostly being open early morning through lunch time but the food & service were both good.

Oh hell yes. The real real. In an American flyover town full of the best kind of people there are. Get off the interstate and come on down.

Truly phenomenal. Coffer Cup Cafe serves up food made with pristine care under a name made with brilliant alliteration. The tasteful, rustic atmosphere combined with extremely low prices will make a customer feel as though they've been transported back to simpler times, in the era before the tyrannical takeover of terrible chain restaurants.During my visit, I ordered the cowboy burger with a side of cheese balls, and neither dish disappointed me in any manner conceivable. The burger was grilled to juicy perfection and the toppings were proportioned in meticulous equilibrium. The cheese balls were beyond scrumptious, and there is no doubt in my mind that I will return for more. More balls. I want more balls.Get there instantaneously!!!!!!!!

My wife and I just had all you can eat broasted chicken there and it was amazing. The pie was the best part. Homemade cream pies to die for.

Nice small town place to grab a bite. Great food and portions, pancakes are huge! Prices are good, and the service is prompt and friendly. This trip was breakfast, but we have been for lunch/dinner, and the same is true!Kid-friendliness: Not too much going on to overwhelm or excite kids, small and quiet but kids are welcomeWheelchair accessibility: Doors are not automatic, but doors are ground level, and no doubt a local will hold the door for you with or without asking

Very good! I had a patty melt and it was way more than I could eat! I brought home over half of it. My husband ate the rest of it and really enjoyed it as well. The pie looked great, but unfortunately I didn't save room. The slices were pretty good size as well.

Great place to take Grandma for lunch! Lunch portions and tasty food with great Midwest vibes! A home cooked meal away from home! Must try!

Your basic small town diner. Good food, good atmosphere. That would get three stars, but I judge on a place's b&g. Excellent. Add a star. :)

We took our family here for the Saturday all you can eat special and everything was amazing. Could not have been more pleased. Service was fast and friendly, and the BlackBerry pie was the best I've ever had. And to make it even better 8 kids, my wife I had all we wanted for less than $60

We visited this cafe this summer on the recommendation of a friend. We were so surprised at the fantastic meal we received! It was fried chicken- all you can eat - served family style. Everything was great! Yummy cole slaw and biscuits, and chicken, mashed potatoes and all the fixings! And all for a great price, too! It was well worth the drive!

... This was my second visit to this great Cafe.... Great service, and the food is ALWAYS delicious, and the Coconut Cream Pie is the best since the kind my grandmother made ! Most of the coconut creams are way too sweet and way too" something"..... this one is perfection! And the hot Pot Roast Sandwich.... I ordered a half order and ate it all !! So that's a testament in itself, I do say ! You won't be disappointed with the food, the service , and the " down home " feel of this little gem .

I was told to try this spot, and it didn't disappoint! I just wish I had more room in my belly for recreational eating!! Pancakes--amazing. Cinnamon rolls are maple flavored. Eggs, wonderful. I wanted to try the pie! But alas, it's breakfast.

Good place to eat lunch. We were disappointed that the daily special ran out and it did take a bit to get our food. Busy place so still deserves 5 stars.

Decent small cafe, good breakfasts with OK portions. But only 1 waitress, so timely service is not in their priorities and as usual coffee is rationed as well because of the lack of staff. Post covid hours of operation???? you never know if they're open until driving there. They charge customers 4 % to use bank cards, that's not right in modern times. My visits are very limited - even if it's local & close for me.

Absolutely the perfect place to go. Tasty homemade breakfast! If you're looking for a lunch like grandma makes this is the place. Great service, great people. I travel alot and this is by far the best cafe I've been to in 2 years. Highly recommend

I've reviewed The Coffee Cup Cafe before and that still stands .... it's one of the best places to eat that I've ever been to, in Iowa. It's really a shame that every small town doesn't have a Cafe` like this to get really good food and I'll gladly drive from where I live to go to Sully to get it, lol.And the staff is great, and the food is consistent, which speaks a lot about whoever is in the back cooking because consistency that is good as what you are looking for when you go to eat! 👏👏✨✨

Went in for a bowl of soup... Walked out after a large piece of pie and ice cream too! Wonderful little place "in the middle of Americana" and fantastic pies! This is my home town, but I moved away when i was 4 years old, Coffee Cup Cafe makes me wish we lived closer... Take the trip off I-80 and enjoy a meal - then walk across the street and see the Veteran's Memorial Rock - beautiful!
