As a truck driver I appreciate these stores. Real food, groceries, healthy food, many coffee choices including actual espresso. Clean bathrooms. $8 showers. Easy backup into spots. Especially nice wide spots on the blindside back side. Will definitely be visiting again and make Kwik Star a regular stop when I see them over the road

We love Kwik Trip stores but won’t stop at the one in Story City again. Dirty. Reallllly dirty. Like unsafe food dirty. And employees just standing around. Pick up a rag!

The whole place is 5 stars. As someone who is NEVER impressed, this Kwik Star deserves its 5 stars. I will never go to the Loves unless I have to. This will be my stop from now on. Kwik Star definitely got this one right. Whatever you do, Kwik Star, keep doing whatever you're doing here and don't change.

Truckers, this is great. So many food choices and DELICIOUS! About 30 parking spots for trucks. Homemade food.diesel. clean. Def coming back!

Wow!! My hours were running out, I saw the sign from the freeway and decided to try it out... CAT scale, truck parking, TONS of food choices in here!!! They have a small grocery store inside as well so you can stock up your mini fridge... Really clean restroom, super employees, the best 'truck stop's around!!! Showers & 1 washer / 1 dryer..

So I have the unfortunate burden of not liking cheese therefore I have to have everything custom-made if I want to eat anywhere Kwiktrip and Kwik star has always been super great at this accommodation. But this trip in this location was not good the lady that helped me was very rude didn’t say anything even when I asked if they could do it for me she just looked at me and said I’ll check took them 25 minutes to make one breakfast sandwich and I asked for two when she came out she had a plate full of other food walked right past me to put away the other food in the cabinet and a few minutes later turned around and said here’s your sandwich and they only made one I was infuriated worst customer service ever I will not be coming back to this location ever again

Kwik Star is my go to. The best convenience store chain anywhere bar none. Staff are always helpful. They have the best rewards program in the industry. They are family owned, and they really take care of their employees. Customer service is always top notch. I'm glad they're expanding/growing.

This will likely be a regular stopping point for our family trips.The facility was clean and the staff were very friendly. Their baked goods, hot food items, and coffee bar were great and of great value. I almost gave it a 4/5 because I wished they had a nitro brew coffee machine like some other locations do, but honestly the staff there were so great that anything less than a 5/5 wouldn't have been fair.In the end, the staff and welcoming feel win the day.

It is very clean and inviting. The staff went out of their way to help me. Plenty of premade food to warm up and be ready to eat. For truckers they have showers and many parking places. Easy in easy out 🤠

Decent truck stop, nice parking wider spots than what you’ll find elsewhere. The chicken is great and plenty of other options for food. Shower was somewhat dirty though, and three out of four employees were talking about a customer, but at least one of the employees seemed to actually care about doing her job.

I adore this place. Its not far from Ames where I go all the time or the town where I live. The food is so so good! It's almost the same quality as a lot of my favorite fast food places and cheap prices. Great condiment selection. I love the cold food selection too. Very clean bathrooms and store in general. Usually the staff is nice. I would definitely recommend

If you want good, hot food these guys have the best of all the Kwik Stars I've been to. There chicken strips are so good! I've stopped here several times while traveling to and from Des Moines. I even pass up regular restaurants because their food has always been hot and fresh. The other night I tried their breadsticks, just saying, don't pass them up!! Thank you Story City Kwik Star for the good, friendly service!!

Located right off I-35, and in the mold of other Quick Trips and Stars. Lots of food options, hot, cold, and room temperature, with coffee and other caffeine available. Other important thing: the bathrooms are pleasant and clean.

Awesome service, awesome store, and awesome people. This is the best truck stop in the area. They have a wide variety of services and food and the people are always great and respectful. I accidentally ended up not paying for fuel one day through a transaction error and instead of sending a LEO they sent a letter and allowed me to pay it. A simple mistake due to the card machine that i was allowed to correct without any trouble.

Hidden gems at Kwik star include fried chicken, ice cream, coffee creamer, rotisserie chickens, glazers, chicken tenders! Oh yeah they also have an awesome car wash!

Parking for about 30 trucks. More like a small grocery store than a travel center. You can find a greater variety here than at typical truck stops. So if you need to stock up on supplies for your car or big rig, it's a lot easier to get to than a Walmart.

This is a great place to stop. Spend the night. They have 3 showers. A small sitting area with a tv if you are into that. Nice selection in the store. Some hot food to choose from. Very clean inside and out. Let's help keep it that way. Do your part and clean up after yourself. I will definitely be stopping here again when I get back to the area

Kwik Star is, absolutely, my favorite convenience store. It pains me to have to give it two stars, but I noticed that the one in Story City has really been going downhill, and I didn't know why. I found out that there is a new manager there, and I don't think he follows Kwik Star's policies, unless their policies have changed. For example, I went in to buy two Karuba Gold coffees. Well, the machine was broken. He offered me two regular coffees for free. Any time I have EVER had a problem getting the Karuba Gold, their policy was ALWAYS to give me a free Karuba Gold. There are also other problems I have encountered at this store. It's a shame, because this is a brand new store. 😞😞😞

This place on average is always a five star but today they have eight coffee pots and every one of them was empty and the cappuccino machine was in cleaning mode. Let's step it up just a bit. And get back to a five-star..
