Definitely a diner. But it's good! The salad bar is good, and they did a good job on keeping items stocked. The hot bar is basic food... Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, peas, fried chicken, shrimp, fried cod bites... it was all basic but decent. The food on the menu was good! It was busy, went on a Friday night, and they take reservations. Plenty of seating. I had the grilled 1/4 lb pork chop. Delicious! They have a bar for cocktails. I hear the pies are amazing, but I was too full to try. Next time!

Wow, if you leave hungry it is your fault. The pork tenderloin is huge and tasty. Ordered with onions and pickles. The cherry pie and ice cream is complemented with buffalo trace. The owner Sally and waitress Brittany are super nice and attentive. A must go if you are close.

Great staff, very helpful and pleasant. We came for the buffet. The salad bar was my favorite of my friday nite Dinner meal almost went back for seconds .The baked or fried chicken, fish, and shrimp was a little dry for my tasting...But that won't deter me from visiting again because maybe it was only an oversight.All in all, it was a very pleasant dinner night💯

This is one of our local favorite places to eat. Sally has some really good foods and specials. Our favorite is the All You Can Eat Butterfly Shrimp 12$ with mashed potatoes, gravy and salad bar! The salad bar has 2 made from scratch hot soups, salads, fruits, puddings and some of the best Blue Cheese Dressing you will ever eat! Wednesdays she has a taco bar with all kinds of goodies on it. Her menu has just about every kind of food you can think of on it. Her home made pies ARE AMAZING!Kid-friendliness: They have a nice kids menu and she has soft serve ice cream!!!

This is the small tenderloin. I think my understanding of the word small is being expanded, but I'm not arguing about it. The food was fresh and delicious and the service was wonderful. This place is clearly a part of the community and even though we were just passing through, we were welcomed in warmly. The food was just so good 😊Kid-friendliness: Check out the superhero room!

Wow! Another Diamond in the rough! Great service, great food! What more can u ask for at Sally's!!? This place was just pulling me in to try it. I must say, I was not disappointed. I met a local name Matt as I settled in at a table provided. Matt advised me that he has been coming here for years and is close with the owner. Matt also recommended food on the menu and told me I would not be disappointed. He was right! I loved what I ordered as well as my friend who joined me. We had a Patty Melt and Fish n Chips platter. The food was very comforting and tasted great. The warm and friendly atmosphere made it that much more special. Our waitress Kim was on point and food was out fast. I will be coming back for more. Thank u Sally's!!

if you are looking for a small town restaurant and you live near Springville this is the place for you. They have a great selection of food and drinks. I would recommend calling first because tonight there was a hour and a half wait and the waitress did not inform us until after we had seated as we got there at 6:15 tonight and left at 8:00 for the two of us. We made the trip over there from cedar rapids and if we were told when we got there we would have came a different night has this was our anniversary and we wanted to try something different. The food was good but an hour and a half wait good. Sorry for this type of review but it's the truth.

This place rocks! We came for veterans day and eventhough they were swamped, the food was great. The lady maintaining the salad bar is a rock star. She was wiping it down and keeping it clean. Much more hygienic than salad bars at other restaurants. She also kept things stocked and was just doing a lovely job.The food was great. We had a kids burger and it was so good my toddler finished the whole thing. And the pie was home made and delicious.Overall, an excellent experience. Can't wait to come here again when it is less chaotic.Parking: Lots of street parking within 1 block. I didn't mind at all.Kid-friendliness: Lots of kid friendly food on their kids menu. Burgers, grilled cheese, pizza, macaroni & cheese, and a kids buffet option. Lots of choices for the picky eaters out there.

Advertised as a made from scratch kitchen. I don't think so. Altough there may be ia few items actually cooked here, i dont know how much is actually concocted here. Noticed alot of pre-made foods and frozen fried foods. I wouldnt say this is a "scratch kitchen".Second, it's advertised as the "best restaurant in Cedar Rapids!" Wait....you are not in Cedar Rapids. In fact, Marion is between you and CR. Lastly, you are really putting yourself in front of ALL the restaurants in Cedar Rapids? This may be a "tongue in cheek" slogan but it comes off as kind of sad.I dont mind coming here but let's call it what it is. It's a small town grill.Best of luck.

One of the largest and most delicious breakfast buffets to dine from. Served only on Sundays 9-1. Also includes fresh baked cinnamon rolls, soup, and salad bar. Kudos to the chefs. Went here again and got the tenderloin. It was the biggest tenderloin I have ever seen! The pic is not edited. The big one is 1/4 pound. I barely ate it all. It wasn’t as meaty or flavorful as others but it was good for the price.

We enjoyed the appetizer assortment of cheese sticks, onion rings, fried mushrooms, cauliflower, & corn nuggets. We also ordered a cheeseburger, country fried steak & baked potato. The pies have homemade, flaky crust! (I had strawberry rhubarb that was just like my Mom used to make!) This is our new "go to" place- it's great. Everything is yummy.

The day we were there, they were super busy and short staff, but with our experience, you'd never know. They got us seated quickly and were very attentive the entire time we were there. The food was fantastic as always and you have to have pie every time! You won't find better pie anywhere else! We will definitely be returning very soon!Kid-friendliness: There are a couple of games and trinket machines in front and a great kids menu with several options.
