Gary is an AMAZING assest to this store! He is the most kind, knowledgeble, caring individual I've ever met. On numerous occasions I have visited Ace in a frustrated panick trying to find the part/piece I need, and when I arrive I find Gary! He has the whole store memorized and knows the inventory perfectly. It's a relaxed shopping experience and he always saves the day. Thank-you Gary! We can't wait to see you the next time:)

They always have around 10 workers just standing around staring at you when you walk through the store. It's a little unnerving. Haven't figured out how they stay in business with so many employees standing around telling each other stories. Quality of products is good, variety of products is good.

Coming from the construction industry, I have been to many Ace Store's and many more competitors. This store in my opinion is extremely Clean and organized! I feel prices are pretty good when comparing to what I have seen throughout the mid-west. The staff is very helpful and friendly, even when I come in, the minute they open! Bright, Cheery, and friendly, exactly what I hope to see in a small town!

Friendly and helpful staff! There is quite a variety of bird houses, feeders and bird feed. Lots of neat things to look at and easy to find items in this store. The only reason for not giving a 5 star rating --the prices are higher than other retail stores in the area for a similar product.

Has most of what you need and a lot of what you don't, - which you'll end up buying more often than not. Got this 15-in-1 tactical pocket minor for just over retail price and found out it's on the 10 ten list of gadgets you must have. Friendly staff and cashiers.

Everyone who works at this store can actually answer your questions! They are nice, know their products, where they are and how to use them. OMG a store with customer service!! What a nice change from the big box stores!!! Small store but usually has what I need to fix, paint, grill and/or do projects. I stop here often.

Someone is at the door to greet you and ask you what your looking for, this is very nice but I'm not really use to it, might be just me. My wife needed to use the bathroom and the worker at the door said you will need the key, so she had to go to checkout to get it, one person on checkout, she had to wait for another customer before she got the key. After getting to the bathroom the door was open anyway, maybe for cleaning? I wonder how many people have accidents?

Clean, organized and well stocked and staffed. Would like to see them add tool and equipment rental services like they have in the Estherville store. Retail sales numbers in Dickinson County are four times those in Emmet County. If those services work in Estherville they should be very successful in the Spirit Lake store.

I went in to get advice on paint/stain. I told the salesman I didn't know anything about this. After we talked I decided to postpone my project. I picked up a couple other purchases and as I was checking out I overheard him saying he had "another customer who didn't know what she was doing and what she wanted". I don't need to be mocked. I can take my business elsewhere.

Ace is always a good place to shop. It's unusual if there is not an associate to meet you on arrival to see what help you might need. Efficient but not overbearing. Good levels of inventory, also.

I got a guy that was very rude, will never go back to Ace Hardware in Spirit Lake. I have bought a lot of paint from them, but no more. I think if they make a mistake just take care of problem and move on and they might keep the customer.

The main advantage this place has over Bomgaars and Menards is that their employees actually know what they're talking about and they know where everything is. You might pay a bit higher of a price, but you save time in the long run.
