Owner Claudia was extremely rude I asked for 2 roses to put on extra for my daughter's cake and she told me no we are down a baker. How is that my problem? she just didn't want to help me it was a power move. I would have to wait a week for 2 roses to be decorated and kept saying sorry. How about the 10 minutes it took to ask your decorators you could have made me 2 roses ?Which would have took 1 minute I have spent thousands of dollars on cakes and cookies over the years! This is what's wrong with people this day and age no passion for their art 😔 complete money hungry rude people. I hope millions of ppl read this review and take their business elsewhere she lost a customer for life.

VERY RUDE customer service. The second I walked in the lady was extremely RUDE! AND the owner just lets her talk to the customers that way.. That woman should not work w/ the public. I ordered a cookie platter to ONLY have received 5 decorated cookies and the rest regular cookies and it cost $85. Word of mouth goes a long ways, and I will be sure to let people know my experience! I will NEVER order from here again! Waaaaay overly priced. SHAME ON YOU Sugar Shack. I have ordered decorated cookies in the past from Sugar Shack, received an ENTIRE tray, different sizes, all decorated and ONLY paid $65.. After reading the reviews, I should have read these before purchasing. I will NOT be back! There are a lot of independent bakers out here, I will gladly give my money to!! Your loss Sugar Shack, all because ONE employee! OH she also admitted that she is the one that took my order.. I said, why didn't you tell me I would ONLY be receiving 5 decorated cookies, she said, OH YOU WANT THE ENTIRE PLATTER DECORATED, THAT WOULD COST $400. I said, wooooow. Shame on you!! Place is a joke, save your money and shop with the independent bakers..

Sometimes it’s not about what we can spend. Sometimes it’s about the experience we have.I don’t know if it was because of what time I stopped in? But it was my first time ever coming to this place.I came in to order a cake for a birthday approx a week out. I was hastened at best. And I kept being told “we are short-staffed” and “seeing how much time it would take” and “seeing how much it would be”. But very rudely and very rushed.I’d rather have been told this a week ago when I called to ask how soon I would need to place my order. There was no mention of being short staffed. And then the price for a half sheet marble cake with whipped topping and a screen print was $75?!?I don’t think they wanted my business so $20 in cookies is all they got and will ever be getting.

They did a fabulous job on our wedding cake! I told them dominion and terraforming mars and make them look like board game boxes and they knocked it out of the park. 10/10.

The cake was more than I expected! The reference photo I sent that I asked for it to look like didn't even look as good as this! I'm not sure but I think they went the extra mile and looked up what I wanted because they made it gold unlike the photo. The cake itself was delicious and my son devoured it!

I needed to send a friend a congratulatory gift and The Sugar Shack delivered. Claudia was really accommodating and easy to work with. You can set your price point and they'll take care of the rest. They offer delivery services as well which is a great plus. Highly recommended!

I love their cookies and I always love having them on hand. So I don’t take writing this review lightly. Unfortunately I do not live in Sioux City, many times I have to depend on someone picking up the cookies and bringing them to me. Today I called and wanted to place an order, pay in advance and have someone pick them up for me. I was told it would cost .25 more per cookie. I said maybe you don’t understand I just want to pay and have someone pick up the cookies. No special order as a matter of fact you can just give him the cookies that you already have boxed up, the same ones you sell to me when I am able to come in. You see if I am in town and I go in to pick up cookies they ask me, can we give you the cookies we already have boxed, I always say absolutely. Today I was told, we are a cash and carry business that’s the reason for the .25 extra per cookie, if you order in advance we can set aside your cookies, I said but I am paying for the cookies before you even set them aside, and most retail businesses are cash and carry, I am not asking you to deliver the cookies. I don’t want anything special just the cookies you already have boxed and I will pay you in advance! It was a perplexing conversation to say the least. At the end she offered to waive the fee, I responded, no thanks it is the principle. I will have to find somewhere else to get my cookies. Sad to say the least.

I finally tried something other than the sugar cookies. The tiramisu cake was divine. I highly recommend. My mother in law loved the cookies. I took them to share at a party and she hid them away for herself 😄

This place was amazing. The women here really take pride in making art out of their deserts. Wonderful frosting decorating. Huge variety. Delicious.This bakery helped us with my friends wedding. Food was delicious!!!! Staff was very friendly and helpful.

For a first impression, the staff knocked it out of the park! I was met with happy faces and warm greetings. They took the time to explain various items for me, which was very helpful as I was picking out treats for my family. And for someone who doesn't eat sweets this was very helpful. I picked up a variety of items and all were delicious (from what I was told). I am sure I will need to buy a lot more my next stop. Well done Sugar Shack team.

These people are amazing. We stopped to order a bouquet for a funeral. They were so busy they weren't taking anymore orders. They saw how much it meant to us and fit us in. I will go back in a heart beat. It was beautiful. Thank you so much. Pat's family loved it.

Loved the Steelers grooms cake they made for our wedding. We also ordered several dozen cookies, and they were half gone before we even cut into the cake! So moist, go good. All my friends and family were happy we got our desserts from them. Thanks again guys!

BEST LEMON COOKIE I have ever had in my life. The texture was soft and the lemon was perfectly portioned. We got a half dozen of cookies and I enjoyed everyone of them. Also bought a mini cake and the contrast of flavors were excellently handled. I believe I could buy everything that in store and wouldn't be disappointed. Prices are reasonable and staff is very kind.

Let me start by saying I really love their decorated cookies. I wanted to get some for the corrections officers. In an effort to cut down on the congestion in the store and my time in the store I called and asked if I could pick up 50 cookies, whatever they had in the case was fine. They said yes. I told them I was available any time to pick them up. When I Arrived and paid I realized I was charged 1.25/ cookie instead of the normal $1.00. I inquired why and was told when you order they are $1.25. I said I didn't special order, I was just helping by phoning early to help with social distancing. I was still charged $1.25 a cookie...$12.50 more than if I would have come in and stood there while they took the exact same cookies out of the case.I get it's minimal in today's world, but still annoyed that my trying to make things easier and safer cost more money.

I had ordered a cake for a rehearsal dinner, trying to do this from Richmond, Va. I called and they where very help full asking all kinds questions, colors and shape and kind of cake. I absolutely LOVE this place! Best place for cookies or cake in the siouxland area! Little expensive but totally worth it! Amazing attention to detail and always get my order perfect! Also they have the friendliest staff around, I'm always greeted right when I walk in! Very helpful!

First time going to sugar shack and most likely will be my last. While they had a variety of products, customer service was horrible. Staff was impatient and rude. Rolling their eyes and making comments under their breath. Not a big deal to correct a mistake and fix the customers request. If you're looking for great customer service I would stray away from this location.

It's always exciting to go to the store and see what they've made for the holidays. I must admit I've never been disappointed:) I am not somebody who gives 5 star reviews very often, but Sugar Shack you guys do a Great Job! Hats off to you!
