Went there the other night and encountered the worst service and food yet! I'm assuming the young kid must be the owner's son otherwise he would have been fired by now. He's never been friendly or competent but this time he was just flat out unfriendly and incompetent. Their special was wings (most possibly the worst wings we've ever had) Yet when he was asked what kind of sauce they came in, he had no clue and had to go look it up. It's your special honey, you should know! Also how do you not have buffalo sauce if you're serving wings? I don't usually write reviews here in town, but how this place stays open I do not know. We keep giving it a chance but this was our last.

Great service, and the menu is refreshing! I’ve tried the jalapeño popper grilled chicken and a bacon chicken wrap—both very delicious! I could tell both were made with fresh ingredients. They were very tasty dishes! We like the haystack onions, and the kids love the homemade macaroni and cheese. The decor is clean, rustic and cozy! It’s a family favorite in town. I haven’t tried the lunch salad bar, but I’ve heard great things.

Their grilled chicken sandwich is delicious! I chose the one with mushrooms, Swiss & onion straws. Juicy, rich from mushrooms & crisp/salty onions. I love that they offer several designed options for sandwiches, then you choose hamburger or grilled chicken. If you haven't been, it's a must stop!Vegetarian options: Fabulous salad bar!

Rotating beer, along with a domestic draw selection. Good kitchen, great staff! Specials through out the week, steaks on the weekends. 4 point pitch tourney on Sunday! And, the best popcorn in town - which is free!!!

Traveling thru Sigourney on the way back to Des Moines looking for a place to have lunch. Had the nachos with pita chips, hand breaded tenderloin with the works, the haystack onions and the pickle pasta. Exceeded expectations and everything was great and the servier did an excellent job. He only negative was the Hawkeyes lost that diary. Highly recommend it.

This is a nice little needle in a haystack place to stop on a road trip. Regular food specials and a decent selection of adult beverages considering it's limited surroundings.
