Clean, easy to find things in store. Fresh produce. Meat counter always stocked and they're all happy to grab what you need. Friendly staff wondering isles always ready to help as well. They always walk with you to your car and help you unload when your done too.

Be careful when ordering from online. I was over charged and called and spoke to someone who said they would fix the error. Nope, didn't do it. Check your receipts!! Edit- they did send me a virtual coupon for the difference

Never have a problem other than it's very difficult finding an employee for a question or for help while shopping... No matter what time my visits. I've had to leave without an item or help finding it several times in the last few months for sure... But everyone is usually friendly and helpful otherwise.

The staff here was so pleasant I went to the kitchen to order breakfast and they were just amazing. Not that they were fast but the food was really good. And the kids enjoyed all of the food. The kids usually does not Eggs but he ate these eggs and pancakes and bacon great place to have breakfast.

Nice people working, clean store and restroom was nice size and clean for handicapped accessibility. Stockers could be given a way to get their jobs done and leave room for the shoppers. This seems to be a problem everywhere.

Store is clean. Good selection. Good produce section. Not overly impressed with meat counter. Their prepackaged meat is fine. They have riding cart which is a must for disabled. Very friendly. Some younger employees need class on what foods to pack and not to pack together ie... veggies and raw meat, bread and milk.

every time I've shopped here, I've found spoiled or expired food on the shelves. I find this completely unacceptable for a grocery store. Its nice that the store is clean and the employees are helpful and friendly but I stopped shopping here because nothing seems fresh, its frustrating! There's also not much of a selection when it comes to finding vegan items, they only carry tofu and only in one texture, silken 😖!

I got my Covid booster and my annual flu shot today. The pharmacy nurse was very thorough and detail- oriented to insure accuracy and safety before administering the two shots And, definitely a helpful smile in every aisle! Thank you.

It's a small town grocery store. has expanded over the years to include a very large wine and spirits section - this is the only place within 40 miles we can get our Marsala wine. The bakery is great - love their cakes, donuts, and rolls. The meat counter is also good, the employees are friendly and polite. Not much of a vegetarian or sugar free selection, however.

People that work in the store are great. However over the past 3 or so years the produce department has lost it's quality. The store director must not look at what is selling well and is losing business to Fareway quickly. Store has an extremely high employee turnover rate.

Prices are good on some items and way over priced on others. They don't have pita bread which I use often. They discontinued it. Fareway in town has better meat and fresher and less expensive.

We ordered a cake for my daughter's baby shower held on Sunday Jan. 18th and could not have been more thrilled with it! I don't know who decorated it but they did an absolutely fantastic job!! Thank you! Wish I could post a photo!

Great employees and staff. Everyone I spoke with was very helpful and knowledgable of the store and items there. Very good customer service overall, along with very good Covid-19 preventative measures & safety practices. Everything was clearly marked/labeled in regards to social distancing practices Hy-Vee currently has in place.

You can always find what you are looking for. Friendly staff will go out of their way to accommodate. Even the manager will stop what he is doing and lend a helping hand. The store is always clean and never anything to complain about

Have you ever been in a place that felt comfortable,? I mean really to wear your heart just sank into a bed of warmth and this while walking through a grocery store?? Yes, absolutely this Hy-Vee in Shenandoah Iowa is one of the cleanest precious smelling well stocked organized, and the staff are so not only well-mannered but talk to you, I mean they really look at you in your eyes and smile and have a down-to-earth conversation, imagine that! Something happened this afternoon as I was going through the store, something that happened that brought me straight back to my childhood. I'm in aisle 7 getting some cereal and the speaker above me sounded like it was a radio announcement from back in the mid-70s and the voice said " spend $25 today and Hy-Vee gallon of milk is now only a $1.19, a special going on right now get yours today" . I thought to myself thank you God that there are still supermarkets and small grocery stores that we can actually go into and shop from. It made me feel like this is actually one of the last pieces of Americana that we still hold on to. So, if you're traveling down highway 59 or through Shenandoah by the way of highway 2 come and sit at the deli of the Hy-Vee grocery store here and feel the warmth of the friendliest staff in the world and enjoy the aviance of a great well-kept store. Never have one you need. Go to the Dollar Store. They carry no plus size women's clothes. Men's jeans are very limited in the size we need. We are supporting 2 communities or more since Red Oak lost 2 of their big retail stores and Clarinda lost their retail store. Shenandoah Walmart should be filled to the brim!

For most grocery related items in our area Hy Vee is as good as it gets. They stay in the middle lane, not too much in the way of ingredients that are often used in fine cooking but not used by SW Iowa cooks. The store knows it's clientele and keeps it there.

Only thing that I am going to be disappointed with is the can return policy and how it is done... I've been to many other Hy-Vee stores and I have never had any problems like at this one.... Other wise... Awesome environment and the people who do love their job make the visit always delightful.... I will have to do my can return elsewhere....
