This DG and it's employees are worthless. Went there tonight just after 9PM. Online says they close at 10PM. When I pulled up, I watched one employee look at me and yell "WHAT?!.. All lights are still on inside and 3 employees standing around cash register yapping. I walked up to door to find it locked. Lady comes walking toward door, then stops, threw her hand up & said "ope sorry we're closed" as she turned around & walked away. I counted 6 vehicles pull up after me and all were turned away.

This Dollar General location has plummeted downhill in the past few years. Aside from poorly stocked shelves, you'll have to weave your way through the maze of boxes and merchandise scattered all over the floors and blocked aisles. Many of their items are over-priced given their cheap and poor quality; half the time the price or discount advertised on the shelf is not what rings up at the register and staff won't honor it. Finding a cashier or employee to help you is a rare exception. As many others have commented, they are often so short-staffed that the store will be randomly closed during days/times they are supposed to be open. Save your time and go to another store that you can trust to be open and stocked with the items you need.

Didn’t want to break my $50 bill because I was only the 2nd customer of the day. I only needed $20 back so I guess they don’t carry any cash in any of their drawers. So don't pay in cash in the mornings I guess

Very dirty, rude staff, can’t get down isles well. Never know when they are open or not. They sell expired food and it’s disgusting. Trying to figure out how to report them They need more staff. I drive to Hull to the dollar general there. That one is amazing

I’m very displeased with how this place went downhill within a year. Dollar general is ALWAYS closed. If they are open the workers are ALWAYS snobby or crabby. Don’t get me wrong, there are a few good workers, not many though. I was driving in the parking lot today at 9pm, all the lights are on and they are open until 10pm, as I was driving up a worker came out of the door, locked it, went to her car, and drove away. Very displeased!

Can't walk down half of the aisles and the other half you have to move boxes etc to get threw or find something. No help from employees. After waiting 5 plus mins for a checker and no one coming I about left but called the store. After 3 or 4 mins on phone ringing a very rude lady come to up dragging her feet.Earlier went for a propane tank exchange. The checker told me to wait one moment while she checks out the people behind me. Which was fine with me but after waiting for 20 mins and seeing new customers come and leave i went back in very displeased. I asked for a refund and said im going to co-op. She said ok just a moment while ill check these people out. Those people actually said no and said to the cashier looks like this man was here first just help him with his propane.This is ridiculously close the doors until you can find some help.

Customer service is lacking, they never put you first. I always see candy and other boxes of food laying in the aisles. The whole experience is pretty bad. It's unfortunately the only dollar store in Rock Valley, so I end up going in 2-3 a week... I rarely leave satisfied.

Last time in this store I purchased a small item in order to get some cash back. The two workers did not know how to complete a cash back transaction. When I asked to just return the time I purchased, they didn’t know how to complete a return. Staff seem to need more in-depth training.

Absolutely disgusting store. Never have anything in stock. Stock carts all over. To much product not enough room. Every time I'm there I have to wait 5-15 minutes for someone to come up to the register. I should not have to ring a bell for service. I do NOT recommend buying from this store. Save yourself the frustration and drive to Sioux Center. I've had an employee tell me I'm pathetic because my wife wanted to pay for things that day. Everything is over priced. Just go to Walmart.Final statement: AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

4 isles were completely blocked with racks of merchandise. ICould not get half the things I needed. There was a line of people and 2 cashiers but one was just sitting there not helping. After 3 customers went trhough finally the other cashier told her to help. Was also dirty.

I recently visited family in Rock Valley and needed to pick up some things for our dinner. I am appalled on how filthy and disgusting this store is. I could not get up or down ANY isle myself much less if I would have taken a cart and actually was able to do some shopping. We are from northeast Nebraska, and our Dollar General is nothing like this. I truely think the state needs to be called on this business, and am positive a state fire marshall would have it closed down in no time. A strong suggestion that something be done about this. If there would have been a NO STAR option,I would have used it, but I will give one star for the convenience of being open on Sundays.

The Rock Valley, IA store is gross dirty and very unorganized. They don't have enough help. You can't even get down the aisle and shop because of so many stock carts in the way.

Many different products to choose from. Friendly employees with good customer service skills. Relaxing atmosphere. Easy to find products as well. Usually has a sell on clothes.

one of your employees is really rude and grumpy, not all people have to use a credit or debit card, therefore you always have to have change and you still get upset if I don't have 20 to 1 dollar bills, maybe for the next time I'll take my pot of coins 💁🏻‍♀️
