I'm not sure if the senior citizen running the register was drunk or high, or maybe just having an episode of dementia, but she was acting very distracted and odd. And then when we were able to get her attention to ask her something she was very snippy and rude and at the same time wildly Incompetent with little to no knowledge about what we asked. It would be comical if it wasn't so irritating.

I used to like shopping here, but the shelves arent very well stocked anymore. Getting more disappointing when so many products are missing. Still the cheapest place in town to buy milk tho!

Usually understaffed and the aisles are very narrow it makes shopping more of a hassle during busier times of the day. The younger staff are not exactly appropriate with their elders I was asked if I was going to be eating the Tide Pods that I was purchasing! The elderly woman behind me was just as confused as I was except bc of my 3 teenagers I knew what the girl was talking about. Either way if she was being sarcastic, humorous or serious it was unnecessary considering she didn't ask me if I found everything I was needing or something in the lines of customer service which I know is asking a lot for out of today's youth but it should start in the workforce! The more seasoned staff usually act like they can't or shouldn't be bothered by customers even while checking out I feel like I'm in the wrong if I ask where something is or if I'm ready to check out and that's after they follow me around like I'm a common shoplifter when I feel it's unjustified and harassing. I had a very busy but very upbeat employee the other day though, her name was Sandy and from the moment I walked in she was smiling and friendly towards everyone and very helpful to a couple of customers telling them where they could find what they were looking for all while running the only register bc her Co worker had been there all day with no one to relieve her so she had sent her outside for a smoke break and her name was Patsy and she's always great even when she's swamped with work & customers she's also always happy to help! Those 2 employees would be about the only reason that I would shop there again instead of Family Dollar down the road!

Not the only star we have left in Red Oak but fantastic manager really nice handle problems if you have a problem with something they try to carry as much stock as we need is possible very inexpensive friendly environment everyone can enter even wear the coveted they just asked everyone to follow the six foot rule very good place to shop save and have specials usually every Saturday where if you spend $20 you get $5 off in the store

The store in Red Oak, Iowa is clean and organized. Products are easy to find and Dollar General offers very competitive pricing. There is no need to drive the extra distance to get to a super center if Dollar General has what you need.This store offers a grocery section and consumers need to be aware of that fact. Though they only carry "the basics" their grocery prices are extremely competitive.I find myself shopping more and more at Dollar General. Keep up the good work.

Usually once I get to the line, even sometimes when I walk in too, there's way more than the 8 person limit they say they have for called g another cashier. Personally, seeing as how there's not a lot of room to get in and get thru anyway, I think they should cut that number in half. If there's that many people, they should have a second cashier automatically. They do have relatively friendly staff, for the most part though, so that's a plus.

Love coming here but with everything happening they had both registers on then the manager came up took one lady off the register and then walked off with a line of people. She was very rude to another women in line saying the casher has been here since 9:30am but walked away leaving one lady to do it all

nice size parking lot. There is always someone shopping. Lots of items to buy. Pretty big store for a Dollar General. Wish they sold more Dog stuff tho. But that's my only complaint.

Great place! Has a nice food section and household areas, as well as a surprising amount of craft items and they always have great holiday decorations etc. Very happy to have them in town!

Dollar General Store will usually carry products that any of the other stores in Red Oak don't. The store is always clean when I go there and they have good customer service.

Friendly staff and decent prices. Grocery section is very well stocked and I have found snacks there that I cannot find elsewhere

Staff is very rude and accusatory. Kathy Linfor is a rude staff member that screams in customers face and makes accusations and spreads rumors of the customers. I will not be back because that is not the first time she has done this.

Everyone always helpfull, sometimes have to wait for a clerk several minutes before you can check out. Is very clean, and pretty organized.

I have witnessed the manager treating customers terribly rude & down right mean. And the check out lines are ridiculous- there is never more than one register running even when they're s 10 people in line. I come back for the prices.

The district manager is a horrible lady. She made a comment about me just feet from me to one of their delivery men who was chatting with her. I guess she figured if she hide herself around the shelf from me it made hear unheard. WRONG! I have NEVER talked to this woman.

The people who work here are rude. No matter who is in the store they talk very rudely about people that work there. When you ask for help they like you are imposing on them.

Nice store for Red Oak, Iowa. There is no other store in town to buy toys and other things because everything is closed went out of busines!
