The food was really good! But we sat at a table for about a half an hour with none of the waitresses acknowledging us. So we went to the bar and ordered drinks. Sat there for another half an hour. Still no one. So we walked back up to the bar and ordered food. Waited another hour and a half for three apps and a pizza which were all very good. To pay, we had to go back up to the bar and stand there for about 10 minutes before we cashed out.Overall, the food was really, really good but the service was not. The restaurant was about half full when we were there so I was surprised that everything was sooo slow.

The outside didn't give me a clue as to what to expect inside. I was very surprised at the amount of space, the beautiful decor and the staff! The chef came out to check on his patrons not knowing I post on Google maps 😉 I highly recommend this place if you want some very yummy food perfect onion rings, cheese curds! The hometown feel with an uptown visual pleasure while filling your belly with an abundance of plated food.The one thing I'd add is local talent to dance to. There's virtually no place to dance anywhere in a 50 mile radius.

In the area for a wedding, but I'd definitely make the drive back to eat here again! Fast and friendly service, solid selection of beers on tap, and the jackwagon burger and sweet potato fries were both some of the best I've had in a while! Make sure to not miss stopping here!

The girl with dark hair, forgot fries, was rude, and seemed cold to me and my group. Also we had a reservation for the back room and it was taken when the day came to the reservation. Horrible service, very slow.

On the the last motorcycle ride of the season and have been wanting to try The Place. What a nice, clean place! Food was great! Good service and friendly! Wife and I decided that we'll be making a road trip this winter for lunch.

We ordered the pork tenderloin and a fish sandwich on a Saturday. The food came out fast, everything was perfect, and the staff always made sure to check on us when they came by. The pork tenderloin was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and a large portion like a. Iowa tenderloin should be. The fish was cooked perfectly, flaky, and the portion was generous. Couldn't have had a better experience and look forward to going back again.

I've been three times now, hoping that the terrible service was just a glitch the first couple of times, but you just cannot get served in this bar, for food or drinks. The first time, I was with a large group of people and the bar was fairly busy. We stood at the bar to order drinks but couldn't get the bartender to greet us for quite awhile. I figured it was just because it was a new place and busy and probably an inexperienced bartender.The second time, I went with 2 friends for dinner and it took 45 minutes to get our first drink. The bar was not busy and a table of about 8 people behind us complained to us that they hadn't been served either. Another small table next to us who had ordered before us had to go find the waitress to get their drinks. Our food took another 45 minutes and was brought out cold. After our third drink, we were delivered the bill, without having ask for it. We were planning on staying for a couple more drinks, but we're so disgusted with the service that we left.Saturday night was the third time and I was with a large group of people. We only stayed for two drinks because the waitress continually walked by without acknowledging us - it was not very busy. Again, we had planned on staying for several drinks, but left early since they obviously don't care about serving the patrons. It's a shame because it's a clean, well set up bar that could be fun to hang out in if you could actually get a drink.

I had never been to the town of Protivin until the other night so imagine my surprise to find out that there a great little restaurant/bar there that I've been missing out on. I had the Shrimp Po'boy and it was excellent! Will be making the trip again!
