Stopped by this place when looking to add to our family, after hearing they were a no kill shelter I wanted to go through them if I found the right fit.Spoke with Natalie a lot on my first visit she gave me a tour, let me spend time in the rooms which were not over crowded, organized efficiently and CLEAN. Did not smell like one would think a shelter usually smells like 😂The toys and cat towers were all in good condition, animal info easy to find & understand - she had answers to all my questions on the different pets there.We did find our new family member there and we will be going back for our next addition. I plan to bring my daughter there with me for some volunteer experience as well!

10/10 experience adopting this lil guy. The cat area is set up perfectly for the kitties and the staff was phenomenal.

I went to volunteer here a couple days ago and the staff was amazing. Cleaning up the place felt very fulfilling and we got to hang out with the cats afterwards. The animals looked well cared for and loved. I recommend coming here to adopt a new friend or volunteer.

Do NOT get a kitten from here, as they may already have FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) and there is no cure...you will have to get them put down. My 'Sweet Pea' (This shelter named him and I kept it) had to be put down 9/2 weeks after I got him...the first 6 weeks were heaven, played, then total lap kittie...after that he went down hill, lost his appetite and didn't care to play with his "mousies" anymore. Even the ARL vet warned us never to adopt from small town shelters such as this. I would give them a big fat zero if I could.

Great place to adopt a pet! We found a new member of our family and brought her home. The staff is so kind and helpful. I recommend visiting and looking at the rescue pets.

My daughter and went to go look at Bubba the cat. He wasn't very interested in us. Then we found a car called Blackberry. He's so sweet. He was very drawn to my daughter. The shelter manager was very helpful and nice. We might go back again in the future. It was our first time adopting.

Wonderful staff! Facilities are clean and animals seem well cared for.Adopted a kitten, and all the cats clearly came from excellent foster homes. All were very tolerant and affectionate.Great atmosphere, great shelter!

I was in town visiting my grandkids. I took them to RRP to see the 10 kittens they had. The needed to be familiarized w/people. They put us in the hallway, shut the doors & turned the kittens loose. My grandkids sat in the floor and played w/kittens for an hour. I, too, found a rescue named Raymond that I wanted to take home. I was going out of state & wouldn't be back for a month so I did not take him. When I got back, I see Raymond had been adopted by a nice man. I was delighted. He was an older cat & they were afraid he would not find a home.

Wanted to give a dog named aspen a good home with lots of love and devotion but not allowed because we do not have a fence. When did that have to be a requirement for owning and loving animal. Also because our other dog isn't neutered do to a heart issue. If she is fixed where is the issue?
