Great place. Even though we were there on a super busy Saturday, there was plenty of staff available to help. All were very knowledgeable and super friendly! All the plants I purchased are thriving. Highly recommend.

We have purchased our plants for several years from CRGC. This year we purchased several plants from the “sale” trailer. To our surprise and disappointment 7 of the 8 plants purchased did not sprout or grow. I returned the plants to CRGC, knowing I would not get a refund, however, to show them the lack of quality plants they were selling. They apologized and were unable to refund or replace any of the plants. Beware of what you are buying here.

They have a great staff, and a great selection of plants. There’s shredded topsoil and compost can’t be beat for making a garden bed. But you need to be careful if you buy a tree that has been overwintered. We got those river birch at half price and paid to have them planted since the pot was so bad. We are disappointed that they sold a tree that only had leaves on one trunk. I would wait until the trees have leaves on them before buying next time. They do not warranty over winter trees. I just wish they would make sure they had leaves before the winter begin.

My wife is addicted to this place and loves going there for all of her yard plants and trees. Great gift shop. Employees are all happy and very helpful. As a surprise for her birthday I took them a picture of her and bought her a gift certificate to surprise her. As I was leaving she pulled in but didn't see me. They surprised her with the gift certificate and everybody had a nice laugh. Thank you Cedar River Garden Center!

Lupine I bought at Cedar River Garden Center last year. Had to dig down about 24 inches, because Lupine have a 20 inch tap root, then added sand and peat moss. This is the result a year later! Thanks CRGC!

Excellent selection and the people are great. My mother in-law has an oxygen tank and they helped her get plants so she didn't have to maneuver around as much. Definitely our go to for our planting.

I contacted Cedar River Garden Center about delivering enough river rock for 100 sq ft of landscaping. They were super quick with a quote, and exceptionally well-priced. Delivery was fast and easy. Would absolutely, definitely recommend them!

This place has an amazing atmosphere! I never felt looked down upon like I have at other greenhouses for being far more interested in veggies/fruits than other landscaping plants. The variety was spectacular- they even had Aunt Molly's ground cherry starts! I couldn't believe it. The people working were friendly not only toward me, but also my young boys, who like to run and yell about pretty plants. Will definitely be retuning, and soon.

Was looking for slate chip rock at a reasonable price. There were a few places around the CR area but they were really, really high on their prices. Found exactly what I wanted and the bags were right where they needed to be on price. Huge selection of trees, great stuff inside too! Recommended!

Good selection of flowers and trees. At this time of year it seemed as though they didn't have alot in stock. But its also super early in the planting season so im guessing that, along with them having the rebuild a few of the green houses from the storms we had last year, had alot to do with the selection. Good prices and they are a locally owned shop I believe, so I would rather go to them than the big box stores to buy flowers. Friendly and helpful staff everywhere.

Be sure you understand their Plant Guarantee Policy. The “guarantee” only cover 50% of the original cost (not really much of a guarantee if we’re being honest) of their “robust quality plant material” that then dies after planting by their staff. Fine to not have the labor refunded (or guaranteed), but your guarantee will only be in the form of store credit, not a refund. One would think they would value their customers more than that. I’ll take my business to Earle May.

Not best customer service online. I wrote this place off for that. But my sister made me check them out and due to their massive inventory of unique items. Clearly labeled plants with prices and amazing yard decorations I will get past that incident. Prices are decent enough. More impressed by cedar river than Culvers.

I was hesitant to go to a garden center with the pandemic. I was pleased to say I felt safer at Cedar River than I do at the grocery store. From limiting people in the greenhouses, disinfecting carts between uses, all guests being respectful of space, most things outdoors, and essentially hands free checkout/payment option, Cedar River did an amazing job of making me feel safe. I was so impressed with the variety of affordable plants and vegetables available. I'm definately expanding variety in my vegetable garden this year!

I felt like an adult in my own Disney World! This place is magical for anyone who enjoys gardening, boulders, soil, mulch, and hand-crafted, one of a kind art, esp. sculptures by local artists! And the staff are incredibly knowledgeable! You WON'T regret this visit!! 💜💜💜💜

This is by far the best nursery in the Cedar Rapids area. I was looking for many specific perennials; the other garden centers did not have them nor could they order them because it's so late in the season. Cedar River Garden Center had most in stock and ordered the rest AND their prices were MUCH better. And their perennial buyer, Loretta, is super knowledgeable and you can tell she wants to help you. I'll never go anywhere else!
