Very nice RV park, great for big rigs. Many pull in sites with FHU’s. Very nice facilities too. Nice huge dog park, beautiful lake. Easy on and off the freeway. There is a well stocked store. There are several small cabins to rent. They are putting in a pool but it will be awhile before it is finished. There is a play area and arcade for kids. It does look like you could stay here long term also. If you’re a passport America member you can get a good discount off the nightly fee

I arrived in late October for my first experience at the Rv lifestyle to camp at Sleepy Hollow for six months for contract work in the area. I was able to secure a full winterized hookup for the season. The park is impressive, well laid out and organized, the staff are knowledgeable, friendly and are working tirelessly making improvements getting ready for the spring season. I have access to every service one could ever need, the park even allows for deliveries form UPS, FedEx, and Amazon to a central location for convenience. The location is very close to the city but far enough in the country for fantastic rolling hills and views I have only seen in a painting. Highly recommend reserving your spot now before Sleepy Hollow gets booked up for the spring and summer seasons.

We needed a place to stop on our way home to MN. We arrived at 4pm, the hours on the office said they were open until 5pm, but no one was there. They did answer the phone, we made our reservation. After we set up, during dinner time, someone was driving a tractor back and forth carrying dirt and it was blowing dust everywhere while we were cooking outside. The water that came out of the spigot was dirty and muddy; we had to run it for a LONG time to clear up. The bathrooms are in need of an update. For some reason, the bathrooms got locked overnight. No where in the confirmation emails or communications on the phone did anyone provide a bathroom code. I called the emergency maintence number, but no one answered. Maintenance eventually showed up. I guess if all you need is a place to sleep and plug in the camper then it's fine, just don't count on having bathroom access.

We stayed the winter and Iowa winters were not enjoyable at all. Will not stay again during the winter. As far as the campground goes really didn’t enjoy our stay. Could wait for the other campgrouds to open up to have a cement slab with space, paved roads, and not be in a wind tunnel. This campground has gravel roads and so everything gets muddy. The parking lot severely needs repaving. The bathroom and showers are old along with the laundry room. Everything is just so run down that I would have fixed those issues before putting in a new pool. The water is so hard that it ruined our hot water heater. Who knows how long it will take me to get the build up off of everything from the hard water. We even put in a water softener and still the water remained hard. You would have to do a professional system to do anything about how hard this water is. We were on the last row closest to the interstate which is loud 24 hours a day. Was in a wind tunnel all winter, we were crammed together so close that in order to get to our tanks and do flushes we were inon the next guys site, of which had dogs he didn’t clean up after so we constantly stepped in dog poop just to get to that side of our 5th wheel. The runoff sewer pond was so close to us we had to run air purifiers due to the smell. Even on nice days couldn’t even open up the door and enjoy with weather due to the smell, wind and interstate noise. When it rained, and due to us being on a hill, the runoff came right down to our site and we had a little river coming right through our site. All of our stuff is so covered in mud. It is going to take me all summer to clean everything up. To top the end of our stay off once it got nicer the birds all came in. Happy they have trees but the amount of birds is crazy. Our vehicles and rig just got covered with bird droppings. Had to get a car wash membership just so I could keep my car clean. Washing the rig was worthless to even attempt. One due to the hard water but you would just create and even more muddy mess trying to clean it.The place has potential but needs to understand that us baby boomers and gen zs have a lot of money and a nice pool is not what is going to keep us coming back for any length of time.

We booked a reservation (online) the night before our stay. When we arrived at 2:45PM, there was no one in the office even though the office hours stated that they were open until 4PM. There was not any kind of welcome packet waiting for us, so we just went ahead to the campsite that we reserved without registering. The site we went to had a slope of about 10 inches side to side, so we had to shore up the low side of the trailer. Overall, we had zero communication from the office. I would not recommend this campground.

This is a great RV park. Easy to get in and out with a big rig. Sites are gravel and level.tthere is a lot of dust when dry from the roads, but the pond is sooo pretty. The dog park is big. Close to Iowa City.Nearby activities: Close to Iowa City for all kinds of shopping amd restaurants.

Had a good experience here. We tent camped for a night. We had a nice grassy spot to set up in. I did think it was a little odd our tent site was directly in the backyard of someone’s house. Regardless we had a peaceful night. The bathrooms and store could use a little updating, but they’re not bad!! Tonya was very pleasant.Super convenient that it’s right off of the highway. There are a good bit of bugs because of the pond.Safety: Many other campers around and felt safeWalkability: Gravel roads to walk to the bathrooms

Super nice staff! We stayed just one night while traveling east. Our site was set up backwards for a back in, so they let us use it as a pull through by parking or truck on the grass. Made it very easy to leave early the next morning. We were next to the street so just pulled forward and out.Food & drinks: There was a limited selection of alcohol available.

We really enjoyed staying at sleepy hallow for the weekend. The staff is amazing and all of the facilities seemed really nice. The lake is nice and we enjoyed kayaking. I will say that I’m a little upset both the pool and paddle board rentals were offered and unfortunately the pool is not open and it seems there is only one paddle board that is tied to the floating playground on the lake.

Campground is convenient and scenic. However, much updating is needed. Roads are rutted. Store was not fully stocked. Sewage lagoon smell was strong. Pool not open. The worst was we had made reservations by phone. Never got a confirmation. We were called last day we intended to be there and were told we hadn't reserved that night, someone was waiting for our spot and if we didn't move within an hour, our camper would be towed off site. When we arrived back at campground, no one seemed to know what problem was. There was no proof we had reserved that night on our part as they had wrong email address and we had never received confirmation. Sadly, I would never recommend staying.

We needed a place to stay for one night over Labor Day weekend and Dillion was very friendly and helpful able to fit us in. Full hookups with 50 amp. Huge dog park with lots of room to run. Roads are dusty but easily accessible with class a motor home. When we pulled in there were many people enjoying the swimming beach with a jumping trampoline. Looks like they are getting a new pool.

No one in the office at 3:00 in the afternoon. The instructions for registration are written in marker on the door, and it is almost completely worn off. Lots of junk and debris around the permanent sites. There are mobile homes in the back with a lot of trash. No one answers the phone. This may be a nice place for summer people but as campers passing through it is very disappointing. The grass was too long and when I walked my dogs they kept finding garbage in the grass. Well, we chose a site and set up. My husband found an employee who said our site was reserved and we would have to move. I can’t figure out how they made a reservation because the online system was not working, no one answers the phone, and the office was closed. And when you try the website, there is no place to put in a site number. We were told the reason the office is closed is because the owner is too cheap to pay anyone. Oh, and the flies! All over the door. When you opened the door, there was a mad rush for them to get in. They probably felt safer inside. I honestly hate leaving a bad review. But this place deserves it. Update - no one took the “reserved” spot so there was absolutely no reason that we had to move.

Folks are nice, but... many things are not working: pool, foosball, air hockey, bell on top of climbing wall, and more. Pretty strong sewer-like smell...I think it was coming from the "lagoon" (which seemed to be some sort of wastewater aeration pond). The swimming pond was about like a dirty irrigation pond...we were skeptical so we didn't let the kids swim. Part of what we liked about the description was the gaga ball pit, but it was pretty overgrown so our boys didn't use it. We did play basketball, but we luckily had our own ball. The tent sites have nice grass, but aren't level. My 5 yr old recommended 3 stars, my 8 yr old recommended zero stars. My sound level app measured 70-80 dB (which is quite noisy) consistently based on freeway noise and cicadas. I won't be going back, even though the bats were cool.

All was well until the familiar smell of sewage wafting over from the not too distant lagoon blessed the experience. Service was awesome. Location is right off or next too I80. And NOTE WHEN MAKING RESERVATIONS: if you decide to cancel a cabin or leave a day early, NO PRICE ADJUSTMENTS or REFUND from the full amount paid. I’m sure it’s in the find print somewhere in the agreement but we we’re pretty surprised by that practice. Might be common…and the swimming pool is not working. Would we go there again? ONLY if it was the last full service campground in 100 miles.

New ownership. Two years in a row now we have had water and electrical issues for the majority of the first day, this weekend was until 11pm. Fishing is not as good as it used to be which it's supposed to be catch and release but we see people taking fish back to their sites. The swimming pool hasn't been open for two years now but the lake is very nice to swim in with a water feature for the kids. Staff seems attentive to needs when they are brought up. Overall it's a decent place to camp.

Alisha was an excellent manager. She did a great job addressing my concerns at check in. We were traveling back to NH from the Grand Canyon and saw this as a decent stopover. Our kids loved the pond and we loved the atmosphere. Chilled by the fire listening to the Grateful Dead. I highly recommend this place if you want to have a great time at a reasonable price.

We needed to move our stay up one day. I tried email and phone messages with no reply. We showed up and planned to go to our site that we we’re scheduled for the next day. We have a 40 foot motor home towing a car. The site was on a hill, too small and not level. The instructions on the closed office door was to call and press one. That voice mail was not set up. We went elsewhere. Terrible customer service when you don’t even answer the phone or respond to messages.

We didn't end up staying here, so I can't speak to most of the campsite experience or amenities. The site is 99% RVs with all three tent sites all within feet of each other in someone's backyard. We went looking for something a little more peaceful and private, but this seemed like a great place to spend summers with kids!

This camp ground is need of major repairs. The roads are full of pot holes which you can figure out the depth until they fill during a heavy rain then it’s anyone’s guess. The lot we were in 98, was nearly impossible to level between being narrow and on a slope with large mature trees in each side. We registered as 42’ class A with a toad. The interstate was within full view and very noisy. The “water feature” between us & the highway was actually a green semi stagnant retention pond that if the wind was going in the wrong direction gave off a strong sewer odor the minute you opened your door. When these concerns were addressed with management they were greeted with yes we know and they are on the 2024 calendar to be looked at.The people were nice but it is not a place we can recommend or would return.

Came back to sleepy hollow to register for the entire summer as last year it was amazing, especially July 4 best event of the year but when I arrived yesterday the office was closed and no one was answering the phones so that was a wasted trip in its self and come to find out the staff including the general manager Alesha Ennor were treated so poorly and with such disrespect from and employer is a severe disappointment to me they did a wonderful job treating us like family and it truly was a summer to remember and I'm disappointed I won't be able to have another one here at Sleepy hollow.....good luck beyonder you gave up some really great people and you can't manufacture what Alesha and staff did for us last summerFood & drinks: Store was closed and no was answering phoneNoteworthy details: No staff

First time out there this weekend. I was a little skeptical about the location of my sight after reading reviews, but upon arrival I was greeted with kind and personable service from the staff even though we could tell they had a lot going on with the events they were hosting for the children outside. Our site was on a hill, but was clean and ready for our arrival and was pleased to find it recently leveled compared to the photos I viewed. Pool wasn't open yet since it was being repaired all weekend but it was too windy to be in a pool anyways. Events planned throughout the weekend were fun and kept my children entertained all day. The beach looked fun but again too windy for swimming. They loved the hay rack rides. The young maintenance man Cody was a hoot keeping kids laughing while riding around the park. He also visited our site later in the evening making sure we were enjoying our stay, I was pleased but suggested they have more gravel along the sides so I can exit my camper, and to my surprise he returned several minutes later with a ranger load of gravel and had my site fixed before I knew it. He also filled my fire pit with spare wood for the "inconvenience." Exceptional customer service.Shower facilities we cleaned regularly and not too far of a walk away, but I do suggest flip flops because the shower mats are a little uncomfortable to walk on.Was a truly great weekend. We definitely plan on returning. Thanks Beyonder Crew! -Mike

We actually stayed here after waiting too long to rent a hotel room for a Hawkeye game- luckily we have an RV! The camp store was really nice, very nice staff. Bathrooms are older, but not terrible. Looks like a great time for kids with a nice little pond. But the whole area smelled like sewer for the 24 hours we were there and the store was locked up while we were leaving at 8:30 in the morning.

In short, find someplace else.We arrived at 5:30 p.m. to find that the office and registration close at 3 p.m., which is awfully early compared to other campgrounds and is not mentioned on the email reservation materials. Other campsites provide accessible registration envelopes containing a map of the sites, codes for locked bathroom/shower/laundry facilities, and wifi password for after-hours arrivals, but not this one. We called the after-hours phone number that is provided online and on reservation email materials. No one answered our two calls. So.....We found our site using an online map; as others have mentioned, do not expect level pull through sites. The wifi password provided in the email reservation materials is inaccurate. Luckily, we found a poor staffer weed whacking around the pond. He gave us the correct wifi password and codes for locked facilities. But for catching him doing maintenance, we would have been out of luck.Clearly, this operation is not a priority for its ownership. Staffing is woefully inadequate and the sites and facilities are not worth the prices being charged (I suspect the online photographs were taken a decade or more ago). You have been warned.

So let me start by saying Alicia and Steph were amazing. We brought my son here for his first camping trip ever, he has some special needs and they went above and beyond to make sure his trip was great! He had a great time and has asked when we could go back. The pond was great for fishing and we felt absolutely safe letting him run and play and just enjoy being out camping. Everything was clean, pet friendly and well taken care of. The pool was closed for maintenance but not a big deal. Will absolutely be going back.

Good time! Cabin small but comfortable. Weather was windy and cold, not allowing us to be outside much. Was unable to reach anyone at the phone# left on park rules sheet to pick up keys. Registration is located in the General Store and the days and hours of operation are limited. Answering machine was full so couldn't leave message. After 3 hours, had to get a hotel room for the night. The staffer ate friendly and helpful. Very clean bathrooms and laundry facilities.

Our rig was too long for the park. We should have been advised that the spaces, besides not being very level, would be too short. Roads were in poor condition, hook-ups not spaced for a motor home and grounds were generally unkept. Location and access from highway as well as setting with lovely pond were very nice. Great place for relaxing family getaway.
