I'm here weekly for feeder mice for our snake. All the animals always seem well cared for, and everything is as clean as a pet store can be. We also love that you'll often find "rescues" at Randy's. And he's not interested in supporting puppy mills. He's very careful about the pets he takes in to sell. That goes a long way!

The owner is very knowledgeable on animals and their needs. He's always welcome to any questions you may have, and he'll order anything you need for your pet. Ive placed an order for some aquarium shrimp and some guppies.

I am posting this review to point out the fact that the Larry Smith guy who wrote the very negative review is clearly the owner/employee from the competing pet store (No longer in business by the way) in Ottumwa, IA. The person posted a review about his own business defending himself and his store. Very doubtful what he wrote is true here.Randy's pet shop is very nice. And a nice guy. Good selection of fish and other pets, doesn't smell like a total dump like the other pet store I visited.

It's a nice and help store (being the only game in town). It is small and thus their options are limited. They get the job done for the animals that they can cover. For a small town we couldn't ask for much more.*edit* - I found another pet shop! It's smaller than Randy's but at least it's another option. Earl May's Nursery & Garden Center has a small pet shop in the back.

The people there are rude and would rather smoke than help customers. I found their prices to be very high, I only went there because of all the negative things I have been hearing, it was all true. A friend of mine bought a puppy and he was told it had been wormed and when he got it home it was full of worms. He tried to call Randy and all Randy did was hang up on him. Another person I know bought a bearded dragon from them it died within 3 days and he called Randy and the same thing happened Nothing like standing behind the animals you sell. Doesnt sound like this place will be around for long.

Great place! Had no idea what I needed or wanted ended up walking out of the store feeling confident and much more knowledgeable with the information they provided me. They really spend time and effort with the customer.

I just stopped in to look around during the bad snow storm but they didnt have much. The man behind the counter was cery nice explaining because of the super cold weather they hadnt got their fish delivered yet but should the following friday (i was thinking about getting a few fish) the guy was super nice and i stood talking to him for a while.

I will definitly not be returning to this “establishment” I am really glad that i have home training to not catch a case the way i was treated by this man who i presumme to be the owner. An elderly woman and man walked in with puppies that they brought to be sold. I asked the man how much was he going to sell the puppies for to which he yelled at me I DONT KNOW YET ITS TOO EARLY! So i offered him $50 to try and start a negotion considering the fact that he did not invest any money into them other than what he paid the people and the fact that they are living creatures who deserve a home and not to grow up in a cage. He yelled stating they havent had their shots yet no! Well its ok i cant take her to the vet.... uh duh. Anywho i slowly got what i needed hoping this man Would gain some perspective but no luck.

Randy is very helpful and most knowledgeable about all pets he sells. He goes out of his way to help take care of your sick pets at home.

About the only place to get stuff for lizard. Great staff, sometimes you have to wait a bit as there is only two of them. But decent prices for what you are getting.

I was able to get a great tank at a great price for my son's turtle. And also learn some stuff that I did not know about the up keep of a pet turtle.

Maybe not as fancy as a Petco but the folks are super friendly. Great selection of supplies and open all the time.
