I had never been to a Hobby Lobby. Once maybe. This place is incredible. So many great deals, sales, items. Very helpful staff and so nice and respectful. I was able to get everything I needed for all my different projects at a ridiculously low price. The biggest most amazing yarn selection I've ever seen and it's all 30% off.

Strange culture there. Some very easy going pleasant folks and some more prickly characters. I've shopped there for the last several years and had a variety of low key aggressive encounters. I get the sense from a handful of employees (certainly not all!) that im not welcome due to my gender. Today the assistant manager was running a second line to help speed checkout. I still had a pretty big order ahead of me. So i walked over- Amanda, the assistant manager said, "I'm sorry but I'm going to be closed.". Not, "I am closed." Ok no big. I went back to my line thinking "She's gotta get going, i can understand that.". But, she didn't hurry along, she was visiting with the last customer. While i stood there waiting i noticed that her final customer was a fellow hobby lobby employee. With the transaction long finished, they stood visiting at the same register for several minutes. One employee off the clock, the other on and in uniform. But, why provide service when there's friends to chat with? Lol. I make a point of telling this because, unfortunately, it's a recurring theme with some there. Then other employees will go the extra mile every time and are great! I suppose it's like that most places. Mixed bag. Most are pretty cool. Just a few bad attitudes can really sour an experience unfortunately.

I went here about 2 weeks ago in search for some weddings items. I was with my mother in law my fiance and our child. An older lady named Sherri helped us cut a string of jewels and during that encounter she was extremely rude to not only me but my mother in law and my child. My mother in law asked if the string could be used as straps for a wedding dress and she said “I don’t make wedding dresses so I don’t know” in a rude tone. She then continued to say that with every question and was so unhelpful. I’m not sure why she works in that department if she’s not equipped to be kind to people when giving customer service. My child stood near her behind the counter and just attempted to watch her cut the string, she didn’t touch or even really say anything and this woman yelled at her “this is my area you need to not be in here” in an awful tone. Any thing we asked or said around her was followed up with some type of nasty remark. She made us extremely uncomfortable to the point that I’d rather just go elsewhere than deal with someone so rude for no reason. I spent a lot of money here and next time I will definitely take my business to a store with a better environment for my family. I do want to add that there was a young girl working that night, I can’t remember her name but she was helpful and nice and saved us from putting our stuff down and walking out.

Great place to meet all or crafting or home decor needs. Customer service has never disappointed. Greatly recommend shopping here is you have a craft, are looking for something cute to go in your home, work, or living space, or if you are looking for a place to shop around for fun and find something nice.

Manager needs some training... My wife and our family went to shop here today. We have a big family. To avoid causing a road block at checkout with so many people they waited out in the hall. The manager had the sudden urge to ask the cashier if my our family "paid" for all ($250) of BAGGED items. They were out in the entrance hallway waiting for the rest of the family to pay for their items. They spent around $450 as a family. Sad to see a "CHRISTIAN" store act like this during the holidays. You can guarantee this store won't recieve a single dollar more from us.

Super helpful staff. Great deals on fall and Christmas items. Helped make our forest in our cabin come alive! Furnature and decorations to fit every style of home decor. Go check them out, you never know what you will find!P.s. No animals were harmed by us.

Place is crowded with hardly enough room for one costumer per isle. Price not bad. High and low prices but not handy cap friendly at all. No wheel chairs and if your in a wheel chair you won't fit down the isle

My wife loves Hobby Lobby, so while in Ottumwa, we had to stop in. This store is huge, bigger than some of the others I've been to, with an interesting inventory, as you'd expect from this chain. The staff were helpful & very nice. This was probably one of the best (and cleanest) Hobby Lobby stores I've ever been to. And she found what she was looking for & a few things she wasn't!

Nauseating smell as I walked in the door, then the sensory barrage of Christmas propaganda. Poorly organized; I could not find any supplies for jewelry making and nothing for Sukkot or Hannukah decor. I figured that with their well known religious orientation they might acknowledge old testament holidays, but no. Purely Christian imperialism.

I just came out of the store, after trying to return some stuff that was unopened and not damaged. I called ahead to make sure that I could return them in the person on the phone was very pleasant and assured me that I could bring them back in but feel to mention that if I did return them without a receipt that I would have to get a gift card. Otherwise I would not have wasted my time. Anyway when I went in the co-manager was very snotty and had a bad attitude. She stood around the entire time and basically made me feel like I was doing something wrong when all I was trying to do was return some stuff from my wedding that I did not need. When I told her that I no longer wanted to return my stuff because I did not realize I would not be getting cash back, she threw all my stuff in a bag and basically flung it at me towards the exit.Quite frankly I will not be returning to this hobby lobby.

Great place for finding whatever you're looking for regarding hobbies, holiday stuff and stuff for family as gifts. Everytime I go, place is well cleaned, well stocked, employees nice & polite and pretty knowledgeable of what you're looking for. When coming here, make sure you have your budget of spending set. Because like me, you might find more stuff you wanna buy than intended.
