I've had pretty good experiences whenever I have gone there. There is one cashier that isn't extremely friendly but there's another one who is just the opposite. I don't usually let that bother me as long as they know what they are doing and I get what I went in there for.

This dollar general continues to be such a sad experience. I walked in the store the other night at about 10 minutes to close. Both employees are sitting outside the door on chairs. The girl with the purple hair proceeds to tell me I only have 8 minutes to shop! I said no problem I’ll be about 20 seconds! I grabbed my batteries right up at the register and rang the bell. I wait. And wait. And wait. She comes in from outside and says sorry I would just rather be outside right now. She then proceeded to ask me what my favorite color was. What an odd experience.The next week I come in and that same girl is standing at the register complaining loudly that no one gets anything done unless she’s working… customers standing there listening to her being very unprofessional. I also seem to remember her not working or giving good service the previous time I had been in there.Today I run in to grab a gift but of course there is no cashier to be found. I call back to a girl at the back of the store to see if she’s the one but she says no there should be someone up there. OBVIOUSLY NOT. I wait. Call out to said cashier. No one. I yell back to the girl again. She of course blames it on the cashier WHO I GUESS IS A MANAGER. What a joke. I left the purchase on the counter and drove across town for said gift. I can understand possibly being understaffed but this store has no standards for their employees or service. I wish I could say this is new but it’s been like this for years. May as well cut your losses and shut it down.

For the most part I have a very enjoyable time despite the understaffed and ability to put truck away you know in a timely manner they are always understaffed and overworked at the Sheldon store the Orange City store the Paulina store all of them seem to be understaffed... However the Orange City store has a male employee that no matter what I do, no matter who's there, I have witnessed him treat every female would disrespect and condescendence in his attitude I don't know his name but whenever he's around I take my own time my sweet time and find a female to check me out... I am one of those people who has no filter and say whatever crosses my mind... I don't like his energy, his skills as a customer service person or as a checker! I think he's rude unkept and I just would rather spit on him than look at him! But other than that specific person all of the Dollar generals Sheldon primgar Orange City, Iowa. They are doing the best they can with what they have to work with!

Was in this store for the first time on Saturday. The clerk was polite, knowledgeable, and helpful. Normally I avoid other Dollar General stores, but will return to this one. I hope that all of the clerks are as awesome as the guy was on Saturday. I can't give it 5 stars because it was the normal, cluttered Dollar store and 2 managers (?) were stocking the freezers and blocked that aisle for the entire hour that I was there, and didn't move out of the way even though I needed to get something from that area.

I waited in the car with Bunny, while my SO went in. All the way home I have to listen to how poorly she was treated. How items listed as on sale, were full price at register. The check out guy at the counter was angry. How she should have just left the cart and walked out. After we get home, I went inside after 2 hours. And again she's yet mad. Stating she will never go back there. I hope not. I enjoy a happy home.

I feel this store is crowded and NOT ADA accessible because of the layout. There are a hodgepodge of items there which can be nice. I will not that the balloon I bought from there (with helium) has lasted at least 2 weeks. I'm surprised seeing as it was only $1.50.Low stars due to inaccessibility.

Just visited this store in orange city Iowa, at 1040am the man working was very unfriendly and not just to me, the old Lady in front of me as well and who knows who else that stops in when he's working His name was Robert. Went out of my way to be nice and still nothing won't shop here again if he's around.

I bought a frame combo of 4 photos from this store and they sold it to me with no glass. I went to return the frame and they wouldn't take it even though they were the ones that sold it to me with no glass. Even blaming me for loosing the glass. Saying that the women at the counter checked it at time of purchase when I know that she did not. Why would I return a frame of 4 pictures with 3 things of glass and not 4? Why would I keep one thing of glass. I will not be returning to this store, not just for the fact that they sell shady products but for the poor customer service I received while I was there.

I love this new store and i met the manager who is also the owner. He takes alot of pride in the experience you have while your there. I was very pleased with the cleanliness and organization or the store

Not my first choice. The turnover of staff should be a fairly good indication of the store operations. This place is always a mess. The staff appear to be overworked and underpaid. I really try to avoid shopping here if I can help it.

Store is a hot freaking mess and male staff was RUDE. He started rushing me 30 mins before store closing, then proceeded to rudely & bluntly tell me they were closing at 9pm THREE MORE TIMES AFTER. I snapped on him the 4th time. I don't shop here unless I have to.

They came through for me again. Everywhere else they were out of Christmas lights. Dollar General had lots, and different kind/styles that I hadn't seen anywhere else.
