They do a really good job. Most of the employees are very friendly and helpful. Lines are reasonable and ao are the prices. Way better than walmart for me.

Always good. New self check outs work well and save a lot of time plus i get to carry out my 8 bags without having to the bother the bag boys helping the guests who really need the assistance. Nice upgrade!

I wish I could remember the name of the meat dept clerk who helped fulfill my order on Saturday Apr 2! I had made a list of approx $400 worth of meat based on online prices that I gave to him. He went above and beyond to make sure my order contained "no surprises"; checked what was available, told me some prices would be lower due to online service fees that would not apply, and bent over backwards to offer me options. We are SOOO pleased with what we got! I compared prices from several meat lockers in the area, and Fareway won hands down for the most reasonable prices and best customer service. We have never placed such a large order from Fareway, but have always trusted the quality of meat we get there! Thank you Fareway!

Pretty clean...I was handed a freshly sanitized cart by a gloved masked employee and greeted. Customer service was good all around. The meat department workers r nice and very helpful. There r also new meats available such as ground bison, trout, salmon, etc. Check that out. And they always help u take and load your groceries. Also all employees masked or face shields, meat department too alone with new gloves when getting meat. Very sanitary. And yes masks r required .

Store is set up well, everything is easy to find. Always good produce. Excellent service at the meat department. Really good cuts of choice meats. Helpful employees that show you an items at if you can't locate it. Quick & efficient check out & carry out employees.

This is the worst Fareway in this part of Iowa. They are frequently out of store ad items. They are frequently rude, especially at the meat counter.Yes, they will take your groceries out to the car for you and you don't have to worry about self-checkout, but being friendly, helpful, and having stock on hand would help a lot. Their meat counter is pretty-much worthless.I contrast this with the Fareway stores in Waukon, Decorah, Evansdale, Waterloo (south side), Cedar Falls store on Greenhill Rd which does have self-checkout, Independence, Manchester, and Hiawatha stores, which always seem to have ad-items in stock, and very friendly attitudes. For some reason, the Oelwein store just cannot get it together.I'm thankful for Hy-Vee coming to Oelwein. Maybe having some competition will help straighten this store out. If they closed their doors at this location, I wouldn't shed a tear. I already drive to the Manchester or Independence store instead.

It's a nice family operated store chain. Not what you get in NJ or Florida, but nice. The customer service is exceptionally good. They train their "young" help to be customer friendly!

Good deals on food items however a few years back I tried looking for a job and was declined the position because I have a tattoo on my hand. These people that opperate this store are not an equal opportunity type of employers instead they are judgemental and I hope they run out of business no need to act in childish like behavior of denying employment shame on you people shame on you all...

Great employees, good quality fresh veggies and meats and love the service. They bag and carry out your groceries to your car, puts them into it as well.Now if they only had call, order & deliver survive like way back when.😆

Been trying to get smaller pizza for 3 weeks now. They were on sale last week. Only had 2 different kinds but not the kind that we like. Asked all three weeks and still no cheese or supreme. Marie Calenders Pot pies are the same story. Had 3 to 4 rows of two kinds but no parmesan chicken for a month or longer. Maybe not available any longer? The excuse is always Covid. Can rarely get Northern TP either. Lots of Charmin and off brand. Just have to go to other stores. Just getting frustrated. The employees are really nice, but younger ones will stand in the aisles talking and blocking customers or will walk in front of customers. Just to the point of being rude. Sorry for being so critical but as I said, just getting frustrated. Thank you for listening.

Always treated well at Fareway. When my brother from St. Louis visits he is ALWAYS impressed by the service.Do not ever lose the meat counter, it is the core of the store . The meat dept. clearly separates Gateway from everyone else. Happy about the changes I am seeing.

FAREWAY has always been and will always be my favorite grocery store. They always have the best meat, most competitive prices, I love the take out courtesy service and the stores are ALWAYS ALWAYS clean. But my biggest reason for staying a loyal customer, is because around the major holidays, especially Thanksgiving, they put almost everything you need to have your complete meal, ON SALE!!!!! Most stores hike up the prices so that they can make more of a profit. FAREWAY stores show that they care about the community, because they seem to put their bottom line aside, so that we, the customer have savings.Thank you, FAREWAY!!! (OELWEIN).

There is a nice variety of grocery items to choose from and they are reasonably priced. The meat counter was impressive. Coming from a bigger city, it was nice to see the friendly, personal service.
