I love the convenience of the store, they had groceries, a pharmacy, and gas, but I've had issues with friendliness of staff (already brought to the attention of management and it's been corrected) however I am very disappointed in the produce selection.... I'm not from this area so it could be the winter months but so far I haven't found any produce worth purchasing from their store

The fresh produce is something to be desired. The green peppers, cucumbers and tomatoes were way too soft and smelled bad.

New to the area and have discovered the Hy-vee app where I attempted placing a custom cake order. Not realizing that the Oelwein location doesn’t have a bakery. Matt reached out to me after I tried getting help with ordering, broke the news to me of no bakery, pointed me in the closest direction to order AND is making sure the cake is picked up and ready for me to purchase locally. So far everyone (cashier today, Matt and the lady on the line from the other location have went above and beyond. Love it! Thank you for a great experience!

Honestly, at first working here was good. Friendly professional store manager, and staff. Hard work was rewarded with loss of hours. Was kind, and friendly to all my coworkers, helped them out when I could at work. When I got sick from work didn't feel much care, and concern from company. Some fellow employees were divisive, and talked behind other coworkers backs just to make themselves look better. One female boss was very rude, and mean spirited didn't appreciate her. Some people were good to work with. After, I got sick and stopped showing up for work, because honestly I didn't feel the comradery anymore. Learned that I didn't mean much to any of my ex coworkers because once I left the company I never heard from them again as to how I was doing. Waste of time job. Grateful for the work....but when they fired me on workday didn't even leave me a good review for the service I did provide for their company. Taught me that a job is just a job. And, not to expect to make real friends at work.

Over the counter shelves by the pharmacy were in disarray. Nice and plentiful array of alcohol. Good selection of pre-cooked meals. No carrot chips for my dog, otherwise has a good selection of fresh fruits and vegetables.

I like having a pharmacy in our small town. I would give them a 5 star. but. they always make me wait 15 minutes. my guess it is to get me to shop while I wait. They told me my last order would take 45 minutes and I could shop or wait. I came back in 90 minutes and they told me they couldn't start until I was there waiting again

Good deals, store is being well kept so far. This is similar to Aldi's and a great resource to our local community. Keep in mind this is the type of store that you come in search of a good deal, and not a extremely specific item.

Great grocery store very fair prices on vegetables and meat. Hamburger was $1.75lb when we visited. Fast ready meals if your in a hurry. Very clean and helpful associates.

The self-checkout comment is a valid one, but so are the ones about how friendly they are here compared to Fareway. The Oelwein Fareway has got to be one of the worst Fareways around. It's so refreshing to have another store to shop in Oelwein. They should have went with a full-fledged Hy-Vee, but if Oelwein supports the store, hopefully Hy-Vee will upgrade it.The produce is fresh. The prices are competitive. Dollar Fresh price-matches Fareway's ad prices. They sell gas. They have a pharmacy, and if you don't like self-checkout, they have friendly workers who will help check you out!Thank you Hy-Vee for investing in our part of Iowa!

They used to have some grwst deals when they first opened but they seem to have at best average sales now. It is convenient that they are open on Sundays. The store itsrlf is very clean.

So for the second time now the self checkout I went to froze up on me after I put my card in and it had me take it out so a worker had to put in pin for it to finish. She had just done it at the other one for another person too and was the only worker at registers.I don't know ...if they don't get that fixed I may not go anymore.

The lady that picked up the phone on 3/31/2021 at around 9:30am was extremely rude, to say the least. I inquired about changing the second dose for the COVID vaccine for a later time. She said she did not know what I was talking about. I said, the COVID vaccine. She said she understand English surely better than I do. I am not sure we speak the same values language, however.

They have the basics and I’m glad there is a second choice for groceries. Need less alcohol and clothing and add more grocery items. Love the meat and produce areas.

The fruit and vegetables are rarely ever fresh which is kinda funny considering it’s called “ Dollar FRESH”. the meat, milk, and orange juice are always expired. the only good thing about the store is the kitchen part.
