They killed my cat. The female doctor was rude and incompetent.Took our cat there for diarrhea and a week later it was dead. I've heard many horrible stories about this place since.Just go elsewhere.

I had riverside before I moved away - moved back to muscatine . Since I’ve had no issues from before I decided to use them again- the receptionist treated me like second class and snooty / rude . Cause I had a payment issue from before (that was resolved) I couldn’t use a check. They are so expensive !! No I will take my babies somewhere else .

We are not clients but had to call as our normal vet was out of town. My lab was dying and I needed to let him go. I wanted someone who would come out to our car. This way he would be comfortable and feel safe. I did not want to cause him more pain by trying to move him into a building. I wanted him to be sedated before the other meds were given so he would go in his sleep. They were the only ones who were willing to honor him this way. He was not caused more pain and felt safe as he was in his space. I called all over town and the way they handled my best friend's death was wonderful. They sent us a card afterward as well. I highly recommend these vets. Even though my lab was not one of their patients they still cared.

One of the most knowledgeable, trauma, and surgery experienced vets in the quad city area!We are very thankful and blessed we had the chance of crossing paths with Dr. Dan. Our cat was attacked by a dog and we were told multiple times by multiple vets that we needed to put our cat down or amputate his leg. We took our cat to the Animal Emergency Center in Bettendorf IA for the weekend so he could continue to be monitored during the weekend while we waited for his appointment the next week for amputation. Thankfully Dr. Dan was working that evening and gave my husband and I great news. Due to Dr. Dan's surgical experience he knew that we didn't have to amputate his leg but simply clean up the dead tissue and muscle in his leg. Dr. Dan told us to cancel the amputation and to bring our cat to Riverside in Muscatine to start working with him. Within days our baby was eating again after a long week of no food intake and all his vitals were reaching normal levels. My cat was boarded and treated here for a week where he received treatment and was loved by professionals. When we finally were able to take our cat home, Dr. Dan kept constant communication with us and would ask for pictures of our cat's recovery.I thought I had a good vet before my cat was attacked but all that vet did was give shots and fill out prescriptions and never had the experience of severe trauma. That vet along with others recommended euthanasia or amputation where Dr. Dan is a seasoned vet and knew what he was doing. Thanks to him we have a 4 legged healthy kitty.

Just recently found out my dog Maddie is diabetic. Riverside Animal Hospital, Dr. Dan and his staff, immediately began getting us situated with the correct diet and insulin for her. It has been an extremely stressful time, probably not only for me but for the staff here trying to figure out what is best for my Maddie, but everyone here has been extremely helpful and informative. I feel comfortable knowing Maddie is left in good hands when she is there and that they are doing what is best for her. I appreciate all of the staff here and Dr. Dan for being so kind and generous to us and treating us in the best way possible. I will never forget how great this place is and will continue to be for us. You guys really are amazing.

We can’t say enough amazing things about Riverside! We love this place and wish we could stay forever, but we are making the move to Davenport at the end of the month, which means we will be switching. The staff and Dr Dan are always so welcoming and make you feel like family. They are incredibly knowledgeable and also very reasonably priced. When we ended up rescuing some stray kittens, they did everything they could for us to keep the costs down. We sincerely appreciate all the care they have given to our fur babies and highly recommend them to anyone looking for care for their animals. Thank you for everything you have done for us!

I've been meaning to review this place for a while now. I brough my one year old in for random lesion on his lips and the vet prescribed a cleaning solution and a general steroid to help heal whatever was happening but was still very concerned looking at the lesions and receding hair on his nose and tongue discoloration and highly recommend a blood test. I was more then happy to follow through, better safe then sorry. I ended up finding out that my baby had not one but two autoimmune diseases. Not only did we have to do many more test, but we needed to find another vet for specific eye care for one of the autoimmune diseases, where we had to pay for more tests and check ups. We were circling down wards as to if we could afford to take care of him, if we should put him down, quality of life, finding someone else who could afford him. It was all painful to go through but the vets here did so much work to help researching for good affordable medication at different stores going through other locations. They didn't care that it wasn't through them only that they could help our baby stay with us and live his longest best life. In the end we were able to afford everything with the help of family friends and the vets for finding a great affordable medication. Even when a new vet came to work on our baby they diligently looked over his history and conditions to make sure that my dog got the care he specifically needed. I love this place so much. Great care to your pets and great to humans as well!!! ^_^

I can't sing the praises enough of Dr. Dan and his staff. They were wonderful not only in their top notch care of my cat but in their understanding and patience with this nervous mama! They put all my fears to rest, as much as they could, and they handled my cat's surgery and all of my nerves and questions with skill and patience. I appreciate the care and attention they gave to Doesil, and me too!

We have been going to this office for 7 years now and I would never go anywhere else! The staff is so kind and caring. They make you feel like you and your pet are the most important people they will see all day. Both doctors are excellent and I fully trust our dogs care to them. We have been through some procedures this past year with our dog getting older but the staff and doctors are always there for you to call and willing to take time to talk to you and explain things to you. We never feel like we are a burden! If you need a veterinarian in the eastern Iowa area, you can't go wrong with Riverside Animal Hospital.

Poor customer service from Liz. I only had one prescription from them for my dog. I moved out of state and requested a refill so that I could take my dog to a new vet. I emailed and Liz sent me a link where I could get a refill. When I went to refill Liz told me that they could not keep giving me refills. Liz apparently did not look at his records...if she had done that she would've known that I never got a refill and she actually had the nerve to block my email. She is a very rude person. I've always liked Riverside because of the care my dog got but Liz was just horrible.

I was a new customer to riverside. Unfortunately, I was there to see if my cat was going to be okay and it took a turn for the worse. Dr. Dan and the crew there were unbelievable! Very friendly, helped me with putting my cat to sleep and giving me some alone time with him. I will recommend to anyone in need of pet care. It will be a while for me but I will definitely be back! I have taking my pets to Riverside my whole life. The last time I went in my dog ended up having worms and needed a prescription. They close at 2 and I call before I left to go pick the prescription up and told them I would be a couple minutes after 2. I arrived at 3 minute after 2 o’clock and not one person was around Or even in the driveway. I was unhappy and had a conversation with the owner and he told me sorry that’s their policy, However the person to talk to me on the phone didn’t let me know she wasn’t going to be there. I also found out that my dog had cancer and was going to have to have surgery and I wanted to know that I wouldn’t have to take her to urgent care in Davenport if something went wrong on off-hours and he told me if I wanted that Service I would have to go elsewhere. Needless to say I have gone elsewhere

They are always great about getting my pup in for anything and they make sure that they discuss all of my concerns. I love that they are open on Saturdays and are willing to even make wellness visits on Saturdays. They really work with you to make sure your pet is taken care of.

Last Sept my baby girl had a weird episode that landed her in the emergency room in Arizona while on a cross country trip to California. I had the vet there send the Xrays to Dr. Dan who on not even seeing her suggested I get a cardiogram done immediately, he suspected heart disease. The emergency room vet had no idea and suggested lung cancer or pnemonia, very extreme opposites, but Dan knew better than that based on my description of her episode and the Xrays. Sure enough she had heart disease. The doctor I saw in CA kept Dan in the loop the entire time and they made decisions together. I am so grateful I had extra time with her, which I would not have had if I had trusted the emergency room vet's diagnosis. I'm so glad my gut told me to have him do a double check on her Xrays. Then a few months later at Christmas my other cat wasn't doing well, I thought it was grief, but turned out it was a thyroid tumor. I flew him home with me over the holidays so he could do the surgery to remove them, he drew me a diagram explaining exactly what he would do depending on his findings once inside, and he video taped it so it was amazing to see, and my baby boy is doing really well since, finding his new balance. Dr Dan gave me the best Christmas gift ever of more time with my little furbaby. The staff at Riverside is wonderful and friendly, a family environment who loves every animal that enters and treats it as their own.

We have always had excellent care from Riverside Animal Hospital. Our bichon had two surgeries to remove bladder stones and they worked with me to research out a diet to prevent the stones from reoccurring. Dr. Dan Drahos and his staff are always so helpful and kind.
