Where to start. Well the sliding door barely opens, the store is the worst ive seen in years, its a mess and tripping hazards throught. Not very handicap friendly. Looks like the store manager doesnt care like the old managers and employees did. Took 10 mins of waiting to get an associate to come to the register, guess the manager thinks the customer must have to hunt down an employee. Dont go here, drive the 10 mins to either anamosa or cascade before going back here.

Employees are very helpful and friendly.Store always has what I'm looking for..its clean has a great variety of merchandise...I have even called ahead for something and they held the last one for me when I was sick....Love it there

Dollar General has been improving slowly but steadily throughout the last few years. If I had to give feedback to the company I'd say take a genuine look at how cheaply made some of your "higher end items" are, because you don't want to become known for that. I've been very satisfied with the Anamosa and Monticello stores.

Each time that I have been in this store, the people working have been extremely rude. The last time I was there I passed a lady putting stuff on a shelf and asked if she could check me out because no one was up there. She rudely said to me why didn't you ring the bell also if there is no in line WE WORK. I was so taken back, I didn't see the bell and also I don't care you are working that's fine I just needed to be checked out!

I always enjoy going to our Dollar General. The workers are so pleasant and helpful. I also like that you can find what you want because the store is bring kept clutter free.

I just got a new apartment and dollar general was kind of a one stop shop to get what I needed to get started quicker. Helped with getting a couple dollar priced toys and books for my neices. A very nice place to start with when getting started.

Nice place to go for icecream. They do their best to accommodate all tastes. They don't do debit/credit cards, so make sure you have cash. I respect them for that. To much card use nowadays.

I love Dollar General I've been in a few of them and they always seem to have things that I need or want under the local price. They have their Clover Valley brand worth checking out on ranch dressing and a lot of other things

This store is a quiet alternative to the town's only grocery store. Far less dramatic. It obviously needs some help in merchandising and daily operations. Has the feel of shopping a garage sale.

The lady waiting on me didn't smile, make eye contact, acted as though she'd rather I'd not come in. Was snotty about me giving her extra pennies so I didn't have to get pennies back. No personality at all. Store was packed with too much making it appear cluttered.

The Dollar General in Monticello, Iowa is totally UNDERSTAFFED. Aisles are piled with unopen boxes. Not the workers' fault. Corporate's fault! Can't get help is not true either!!

I like shopping at Dollar General, but I think there is way to much stuff all over and to many repeated items, sometimes hard to get around if you have a cart, but I'm glad to have Dollar General in town.

Dollar Genetal is always an unappreciated gem. Have most basic need at lower prices yhan other cornet stores.

They have sale prices that are out of date when you go to purchase stuff you pay the full price and also when you sit there and look at discounts for coupons they don't have them work properly if you go to return something it's a headache they id'd a 90 year old woman for cigarettes they're not very sensible and very rude

Always find everything I need - TP, tissues, vitamins, Tylenol, various canned food items, bread, hamburger buns, cat litter and food, etc. ALL at GREAT PRICES!!

I don't necessarily like some of the staff's attitudes like they are too busy for customers, thats dollar general for ya...but I love this dollar general and you'll find me there quite often ❤

This store has almost anything a normal grocery store has, the service is very slow, and the workers are not very friendly. The isles here are very crowded and the store in general feels crammed.

Sloppy and disorganized. The cashier girl tried to pass us a clearly blank paper and still phrased her question as "do you want your receipt?" unreal.

It's a small store but it has plenty of supplies. It has most anything you need or would ever need.
