Stayed for one night. Room was OK, check in was laborious, hot water was non existent.Two weeks after my stay they fraudulently charged my card and after numerous calls to choice hotels, my charge was never resolved. If you are looking for a decent place to stay in Mason City, this is NOT the spot, and I highly recommend avoiding all choice hotels!

The family that owns this is kind and clean. Breakfast is nice. Great value for the priceRooms: Clean double queen with tub and shower. Big tv with cable. Parking close to roomWalkability: Centrally located and close to everything.

Centrally located in Mason City with decent, affordable room. It's a vintage place but generally kept up from what I saw. Couldn't get TV to work right, but that might have been an act of God. Only two pillows on king, but kind I like. Bedding was clean, sheets decent, comforter as well. Towels not best or worst. Parking brightly lit but interior halls not secure due to non-funtioning key card locks.

The room I stayed in appeared to be freshly renovated. Clean sheets, clean room which had a mini fridge, microwave and cable TV. The doors all had metal strips on them to cover up a gap at the bottom of the doors. Everything was clean and the staff was friendly. The continental breakfast wasn't really a "contienetal" breakfast, just a basic breakfast (Waffles, cereal, toast and bagels) with your choice of coffee, OJ, or a few other types of juice and fresh milk. The staff was friendly and helpful. Not a bad hotel for 60 bucks.Rooms: Looks like they just renovated.Food & drinks: There's a decent bar a block and a half away and gas stations all around it.

Do yourself a favor AVOID ‼️this motel at all cost. By far the worst place ive ever stayed in❗️Soon as i checked in room reeked of Cigarettes 🚬 odor, sheets had stains on them, no running hot water, people & workers from the office @ 7a.m in the morning are slamming doors, moving equipment around with no respect or concern for people sleeping, lots of traffic & noise in/out rooms here at questionable times of night. I will never again book a stay at this horrible motel.

There was food left in the drawers from previous guests. Fire alarm and smoke detector were covered in saran wrap. No liner in the ice bucket. Fridge was not plugged in when we arrived.Street outside is very busy with LOUD traffic all night long. Many transients roaming around all night long. Room and bathroom were filthy. Would not stay here if cleanliness, safety and sleep are what you are looking for.

If I could give this place zero stars I would! We booked it last minute as we were traveling cross country with an infant and need to get a few hours of sleep. Went into the lobby and no one was behind the desk, rang bell 3 different times waiting 5 minutes in between with still no luck! After 20 minutes of waiting we tried calling the hotel phone number still unable to get ahold of anyone! Finally we started knocking on doors and was finally met by someone, I’m pretty sure we woke the individual up. After getting to our room we came to the realization the beds were made but the room was not clean both garbages were full there were wrappers all over the desk, a ton of dirty towels hanging in the bathroom. They have the absolute worst customer service and cleanliness is non existent!

When we entered our room my husband noticed a store bag wrapped around the smoke alarm. House keeping didn't see it...We registered for 3 and were given supplies for two (someone else had similar results)...The door wasn't plumb..allowing light in and around the door frame and under the door. The door frame was partially repainted. There was a lid but no ice bucket...as with the last Econo Lodge..this freezer was not thawed out for use ...and even had what appeared to be melted chocolate ice cream.. ..but..frozen solid, now...unlike other Econo Lodges there was no coffee pot...we even brought extra cream along...my husband had to tighten down the toilet seat bowl ......The upside was the comfort of the mattresses..but the bedding was tucked in so much that I had to yank the coverings up to keep warm.... the tub spigot wasloose... the manager was friendly and brought us the missing towel and pillow.....another couple told us the upstairs balcony had metal twist ties to connect the railing to the rod iron...I would not highly recommend this motel. When opening a drawer we found extra sheets just tossed into a drawer...housekeeping missed clothing left behind and did a poor job dusting the floor.

Horrible place. Not clean and it has not fresh smell. I found hair in shower, also nowhere to put toiletries in shower, so you should put them on floor. No any hooks and towel holders for towels in bathroom. Online the hotel specifies that breakfast included but they don't. Not recommend to stay at this place.

It was a pleasant experience and a budget-friendly place to stay in Mason City. Some parts of the room could be improved, like hooks in the bathroom and fill in the gap where the small fridge used to be. Breakfast was alright, and the staff is accommodating.

It was very old and outdated. It looked exactly like the hotels of the 1970's looked, only now it's all dank and dirty. We had to ask for towels, as there was only one for three people. We were very disappointed! Surprisingly, the room was clean though. That's why I gave it 2 stars and not just one.

I had an issue with my room and taken care of instantly. Great bed slept best in weeks I travel for work so that is priceless AND I learned from the great place I went to eat it had been rundown old after years but bought and redone they did a great job will definitely stay here again if I'm honored to return to this lovely town!!

Just went there to visit a friend that was working the front desk. Lobby was very clean and the help was very friendly.Rooms: Rooms are clean and spacious.Walkability: The hotel is located in central part of town so you can walk to alot of the nearby eateries and bars.

Wow, what a disaster. Concrete curbing and sidewalks crumbling and dangerous. Got locked in room because latch would not retract enough to let us out. Clerk came and opened the door from outside. Avoid this place unless you need a hazardous experience. Clerk was friendly and helpful.

If this former Travelodge was cleaner, it would be quite pleasant as it was quiet and the room configuration was good. However, the sheets had not been changed and the shower had both a soap bar and shampoo bottle on the floor to accompany the body hair found there. There was also a 1.5 inch gap under the door to the hallway.
