This adorable family-owned sandwich shop has been around since the 1960s. Super sweet lady made our sandwich, we got a beef delight loose meat sandwich with all of the fixings! They offer milkshakes that looked very tasty, I will be trying when I go back! If you're in the mood for a sandwich or a malt I would suggest stopping in at Awe's sandwich shop.

Absolutely one of my TOP PICKS for a place to have lunch at in Mason City ….. I love everyone there so kind and friendly and always always the BEST food ALWAYS…. My fiancé travels for a living and always eats out and even when he comes home and wants homemade food all I have to say is let’s go have cheese delight and his all in , but his has to have a pizza burger to…. Thank you ladies we will be seeing you soon .

Great little place to eat. The people up there are wonderful and the food is perfect every time. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. My wife loves the meat bowl and i've had the pizza burger and the tenderloin. You can't go wrong with any choice.

From what I heard, this place was great, and a tradition here in Mason city. The prices were affordable, but the food wasn't. I had a loose meat sandwich with cheese. The meat tasted old and cheap with little flavor. I looked up the restaurant, there was a change in ownership and most likely recipe went along with. You can easily make better tasting ones yourself.

Our family LOVES Awe's! Every visit, my children look forward to the wild and fun shenanigans they will have with Lois. There's not many places in Mason City where you can get a loose meat sandwich and great memories like you receive at Awe's. A very cherished place in our hearts and our tummies!!

I traveled from Nebraska & love diner food. Great price, great service, and even better food. We had the chicken strip basket and ordered 2 maidrites to go. I was only surprised to see that the staff members did not wear gloves, masks, and hair nets. Considering COVID, I was surprised that they were not taking those precautions. I also hate to think of a long strand of hair accidentally ending up in someone's food.

For a small family Diner type fast food eatery, the menu gives you a taste experience well worth stopping in.Delight loose meat sandwiches are highlighted, but if you really want to top off your meal, try a black raspberry malt. My favorite!

This place is now called 'Awe'z! I tried to correct the name but was not allowed to even with supporting photos. The name isn't prominently displayed from the street so it is surely a local stop.This is good food fast. Eat in or take out. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. This is now a top choice when I'm in Mason City.

:) If its not broke dont fix it. Avoid the chili, when asked if its made from scratch and if its a good chili, the comment was well I made both, and head bobbed and smiled, so I got the chili and sandwich, the sandwich is always good, however I couldn't eat much of the chili, it wasn't made by an experienced person, there was meat-beans- and enough chili powder for a full pot of chili, inedible! :( I have no idea what the other soups taste like, however she said she made the bean soup too. I didn't risk a taste.
