Just a classic eatery with tons of nostalgia.Hadn't been inside the restaurant in over 6 years walked in and it was like putting on a lost pair of favorite shoes. Sandwiches where out of this world. Gotta have them wet and original you can't beat a Taylor's maid rite best of the best. I had the homemade pie and my eyes where almost bigger than my stomach.

For those that grew up with "loose meat" sandwiches this is as good as it gets. One of three original maid-rites still in existence (I am told)The sandwiches were spot on perfect and went great with my cherry pepsi and strawberry rhubarb pie.My Dad agreed and loved his with a butterscotch shake.Our server was friendly and helpful, and knew the history of their shop in great detail. A real pleasure to be served by her.

Step back in time and have yourself a Taylor's Maid-Rite!! A maid-rite with everything is Mustard, Pickle, and onion. you can also add cheese. Ketchup is on the counter. Beef is cut and ground fresh in-house. Don't forget to try a delicious Malt or shake with many flavor options available. Classic and simple menu but hey if it's not broken don't fix it!!!!! There's a reason it's been an Iowa treasure for 96 years.Parking: They are not part of the franchise they are family-owned and the same family has been serving up delicious maid rites for 96 years! Oh man what can I say. The sandwich is amazing you could not find something similar somewhere else. The PB shake was also great it was like eating fresh roasted peanuts 🥜. Just wow!Easy 5 star will definitely visit again if I’m in Iowa.

If you want a great loose meat sandwich, have an affinity for the "original" of any given thing, and appreciate a throwback dining experience to yesteryear, this is the spot for you.I love going to Taylor's... Just yummy stuff. Don't dress it up with anything special. Just take them as they're suggested and enjoy a "maid-rite" often!

Customer service sucks. I have never been treated so poorly by anyone. Every time we go there, its an issue. I have witnessed the older lady there talking down to another employee for him letting us pour our own shakes. It wasnt corrective, it was demeaning and embarrassing. I'm extremely disappointed. The food is great, but the older lady is the worst. She is in the wrong profession. I grew up in Marshalltown and really encourage people to support local businesses, but not Taylors. In fact, I will discourage people from stopping there. The food is decent, but the attitude and customer service is horrendous. That older lady is not worth the hassle.

ate here.... 30+ years ago. they got more menu items now heh heh heh. when i ate there it was explained to me that the reason they dont have ketchup is because train hoppers would make tomato soup during the depression. they only had mustard and onions and made rites. good ol times. btw yeah... im William Clemons the third like "Clemons Iowa"

Delicious and a fun atmosphere. One of the local favorites I've been told. The milkshakes are delicious. I tried the peanut butter and the butterscotch. The maid-rites are easy and tasty. A little different than your typical fast food joints.

If you are wondering if the frozen sandwiches are as good as a fresh maidrite - they are! We had two dozen delivered to Arizona for a family Christmas. They were amazing!

I’ve been going to this most authentic Maid-Rite ever since I was born. Why the spoon? To pick up every little delicious morsel beef. Malts and chips are also delish.

Great atmosphere since the 20s complete with the same original countertop. Staff are friendly, attentive, and efficient. Can't go wrong with ordering an original with everything and a malt of your favorite flavor.

This would be in my top 3 maid rite sandwich shops. This was tasty but there is one place in my opinion that tops this location. Needs a little more seasoning and it would be right behind my number one pick. Sadly they are a long dr8ve away or I would visit them more. Taylor's is a lot closer and I would visit again if I'm in town. Thanks.

Always have to have Taylor's Maidrites when I'm in Marshalltown. No other maidrite around the country compares. Hands down these are by far the best! The thick chocolate malt goes perfect!

Used to be the best sandwiches in town. However I went there this evening and they have changed something. The flavor is different, buns are different. All in all a pretty substantial downgrade. Bring back the original sandwich and I'll re-rate this 5 star. After tonight I'd rather eat at a major fast food chain (and I dislike fast food)EDIT: I've up the star rating as the food has improved. Took me 4 years to go back to this place. The service though is not what you'd expect if you grew up around this place

Went there yesterday for lunch. It was totally different from the new maid-rite restaurants that's around now. Totally original for sure. Ate at the counter, no booths or tables which is alright with me. Enjoyed my maid-rite meal and afterwards I had to get a butterscotch shake which hit the spot. Friendly staff and got busy real quick. I will be definitely will be back. Thanks again
