We like Hy-Vee, prices are higher than Walmart but they have better deals when they have them. So we keep a good eye on the deals and go occasionally. Their cafeteria is great, and the Starbucks there is always busy. Have always had good customer service here!

We love our local HyVee. Products are usually in stock. Prices can be a little steep on some items compared to other stores around the area, however their employees have gone the extra mile to help me get toddlers AND groceries to car after a hand surgery (it was a particularly difficult trip with two toddlers in tow). To me it's worth the extra paid at the checkout for the level of service provided by employees. They also stock some harder to find items as well.

I really like this store. The staff are always willing to go out of their way to help you find an item and are happy to help you. The store has lots of options and the food court is quite nice.

It carries stuff other stores don't carry, but their customer service has never been all that great. I have never had a good customer service experience there. I wish the other store carried what I needed because I would exclusively go there instead. Plus, the items are more expensive at Hy-Vee than the other store.

On February 4th, 2024, Michael in the deli department was polite, communicative, engaging, and overall wonderful.He said, "I will be right with you, sir" about 4 times. It was easy to see his determination to do a great job and provide prompt, outstanding customer service.Michael was diligent during the sales process. He flawlessly multi-tasked between opening the deli counter correctly and meeting our needs. He asked us questions and showed us which display items were HyVee quality and Dilusso quality meats/cheeses.You have a great leader in the making! Thank you!Tracy Stamper

Jasmine in the bakery gave me the most sincere and helpful customer service when I ordered our anniversary cake!! In the couple of times that I spoke with her, she made me feel important and did everything she could to meet my needs! I plan to go in and meet her in person!!

Great store! A lot of variety of ethnic food as well, which I love. My daughter loves the vast candy selection ☺️. The made to order breakfast is delicious. Grab a Starbucks and drink while you shop. The bakery has many items to choose from. The pharmacy is a mess, though. I wouldn't get my prescriptions Herr unless you are prepared to wait a majority of your day there. Overall, Great store.

First time in a Hyvee. It was clean and had a good selection. A bit overpriced from what I'm used to. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially at the deli counter when I grabbed a bucket of chicken for family.

I usually love coming to Hyvee in Marshalltown and everyone is so polite and helpful with a smile. Well today I went to the liquor part and checked out, as I like parking over in that area as i have a new vehicle and like to park away from the chaos. The lady at the check out counter was the most rudest and unpolite person I have ever encountered there. The receipt said she names was Stephanie, however I am not sure if that is correct. She is a bigger lady, dark hair and probably between 50s and 60s. She pounded on the sign that said 12 items or less. Which I did have a few more than 12. Infact it was 27 items as she pointed out to me. I told her well I am sorry, I have never had anyone get so mad at me for cooking through this checkout line when I had more than 12 items. I honestly never paid any attention to that and no employee there has ever treated me that way. She responded with "well there is a first time for everything!" I said wow I guess there is not a smile in every isle and she responded with "nope not today". She told me thank you and I politely told her I hope her day sure does get better. I then went in and talked to the supervisor/manager on duty and told him exactly what had happened and he was very apologetic. I told him, I know it's not his fault, i just want the issue to be addressed. This was honestly the first time I have ever complained on anyone. This lady crossed the line and I am more than positive that Hyvee doesn't not want someone with these type of customer service skills to be representing their company. Mind my 27 items fit in 3 bags.

It is ridiculous that on a Friday at 7:30 they have ONE lane open. I was in line behind several people with completely full carts. After being there 20 minutes and still having two people in line ahead of me I finally just left and went home without the few things I went in to grab for dinner. I stopped shopping at Walmart for exactly this reason. It is starting to be a common thing. I will remember to start shopping at Fareway from now on. This is a management failure. You have lost a weekly customer, I typically did buy most of my groceries at this location due to selection.ETA: I appreciate the invite from the owner to look into this. But given the many 1 star reviews for the same thing, it is OBVIOUS the owner knows about this and it's been an ongoing problem. I'm not sure I'm going to waste any more time on this issue or with Hy-Vee.

They have good varieties of certain items but bathrooms are always nasty, prices are super high, and for some reason the milk always tastes bad from hyvee. Even the ones in ottumwa. And the sushi from the Chinese area is sometimes horrible looking. Barely has any fish in it and wrapped very haphazardly. Any produce that's on sale is always basically rotten, and the produce that's not on sale is crazy expensive. $1 per lemon or lime? That's insane.

Such incompetent higher ups. HR is extremely rude and the store leader is also rude and doesn't deal with things in the correct way. Employees are treated poorly, I know as I've worked there. Everyone that works there (expect the higher ups) are underpaid and under appreciated.) Such a horrible place to work and shop at. So understaffed that they have so little on the registers. They need to treat people better and pay them better. But they won't.

HyVee always goes out of their way to make your shopping experience great !!The phrase " helpful smile in every isle" is so true.If you are having trouble locating an item, one of these smilin' workers will ask if you need assistance, before you even realize you can't find it ! LOL..It's a HyVee trademark.

Place is becoming a joke, constantly have to go to customer service because your fuel savers never come through, like literally everytime I go there. If you call they tell you to come back in, I live out of town n shouldn't have to drive back to town or go to the service desk after everytime I go there. Ridiculous.
