The Manning Hausbarn is a site of cultural and historical importance. The reconstructed thatched house serves as a unique living museum and was interesting and educational to walk through.The event center was a bit tired inside - dark and not well lit. Could use a revamp. Bar area could be cuter and should offer more German beers…considering it is a German center. The bathrooms were clean. Lots of parking spaces in the gravel lot.The exterior grounds are quite lovely but could benefit from some more native, pollinator plants instead of all grass.

A very enjoyable experience. Coming from German ancestors it was I teresting to see how they may have lived. I highly recommend the Heritage Park. We really enjoyed the farm stead and Trinity Church also.

Would absolutely recommend this, especially with a guided tour. I learned so much and really felt like the person showing us around really wanted us to feel a connection to what we were seeing. It was so interesting to hear more about the history of the area. Definitely worth stopping here if you're nearby, it was one of the best guided tours I've been on.

Authentic Hausbarn from Germany in a quaint little town in Western Iowa. Was here for a wedding the atmosphere was spot on. Great conference center next door with a motel and camping available. Nice little day trip from Des Moines or Omaha.

This place was absolutely beautiful! We had an outdoor wedding and used the event center for a reception. We needed minimal decorations due to the beauty of the facilities. They had chairs available to us, and have us PLENTY of time for set up and tear down. Rated 4 stars due to the pricing and the bar being poorly stocked, even though they said they'd have it stocked for the event.

The place is absolutely gorgeous!! Our wedding was beautiful, the weather was hot but the air conditioning was wonderful and everyone had fun!! The atmosphere is extremely calming and there is plenty of space too!! They are putting up a boulders motel right next door should be up soon!! Freda and her husband were very nice and offered help and advice plus they took out all of our garbage for us!! If I had to do it all over again I would definetly do it there again!! Was a perfect day for all!!:)

My daughter was married in the grove on the Hausbarn property. It was absolutely beautiful. Even though the day was warm, it was at least 10 degrees cooler in the shade provided by the trees. The reception was held in the convention center and we also used the newly redone patio for games. The managers were wonderful to work with and provided answers to our questions whenever needed. The Boulders Inn and Suites right next door is a big plus as well. Highly recommend!!!

Mostly used as a conference or wedding reception area. Bar on site along with full facilities for cooking. More of a rustic feel. Owned by some wonderful people who are attentive to your needs and will go out of their way to help you. The convention was great with amazing audio that I recorded to refer back to you later. I would say a hidden gem for conference halls in the middle of nowhere.

We have been at the campground 2 wks and it is amazing. Good size spots and well kept. If you want total silence you won't like the highway close by, but it never bothered us.

My Mom and I thouroughly enjoyed our visit here. The house barn is fantastic! Also, the Leet family farm site is very well preserved and interesting to see. It is a "step back in time" to a by gone time.

Amazing German heritage. The Hausbarn was literally brought over in pieces from Germany and reconstructed in Manning. I'd recommend getting a live tour to learn the uniqueness & history of the structure.

Great experience! Loved the hausbarn. So much history there. There's a lot of walking and the restaurant is closed but all in all it was worth it.
