Wonderful, dedicated all volunteer group. No building - all dogs are kept with foster families with big background checks. All the adoption fees go to medical care for the dogs because the overhead fees are so low. They take in dogs other shelters are going to put down for having too many health care needs - they fix them up sometimes costing thousands $$. They often rescue puppy mill dogs and rehab them. This group is really a bunch of angels!

We got our little girl from Fur Fun Rescue! The process was smooth and the foster family as well as the owner made everything way easier. We added our bouncing happy girl to our family and unfortunately ended up sick with a stomach bug of sorts. Roxanne and the foster family helped coach us through how to handle the situation and our dog is back to being her spunky self! I could not be more thankful! We adopted a little girl! She is bringing a whole lot of joy to our family. Fur Fun Rescue made the process almost effortless. Fill out the paperwork, wait for the background and personal references to be completed and all is done. Lynette made the process easy and enjoyable.

I do not recommend this shelter. They are inconsistent and rude. Both of my experiences of trying to adopt a dog from this rescue has been bad. I recently put in an application for a dog and received a copy of my application. I wasn’t once contacted by anyone at this shelter to let me know about this dog. Per Fur Fun rescue, they say that respond to every applicant, but to my knowledge I have found this to be untrue. This is not the first time this has happened with this rescue either. Since I have had issues with their lack of communication, I felt the need to let them know that I was unhappy with how they run their rescue. After stating how I feel they told me that they are all volunteers with full-time jobs. I understand they are busy and I can respect that but that is no excuse not to respond to someone who is interested in looking for their furry friend. It seems as though they make excuses as to why a person cannot adopt a dog. Most excuses that they make up are not valuable reasons to tell a person they are not qualified to adopt a dog. They make it absolutely impossible to adopt a dog from them, it seems as though with the rescue it’s all about who you know and whether you already have a dog or not. I will no longer consider using this rescue in the future. I hope their dogs continue to find homes, but this place will no longer be in my consideration of looking to find a dog.

They don’t even contact you about your application until you forgot that you even filled one out. Took them weeks to notify us of anything about the dog we applied for. You could apply at any other shelter and you’ll hear back way faster then this one. The people are arrogant and rude, I wouldn’t waste my time with these people.

This is a foster based rescue so no sitting on a cold shelter floor with bars. Dogs are placed in best fit foster homes so they receive a lot love and care. This organization takes every effort to place each dog to ensure the adoption is forever. Every day to fully vetted and any medical need treated.This is a non-profit organization that is extremely dedicated to saving dogs in need.

We just adopted Izzy yesterday. She is already a special part of the family. She has been to the dog park twice and was hesitant at first but so was I. She got tired but loved it. I bought a pass so that will be one of the many great things we can experience together. She met her two nephews and her niece, a few growls, but we all played really good together. The holidays are going to be so much fun. Thank you Fun Fur Rescue you have changed our lives forever. 🙏😃

Such an easy and rewarding experience. We found Flynn (changed from Clyde) at Fur Fun and he has been a wonderful addition to our family. They definitely matched us with the child and cat friendly companion we were looking for. I’m so happy they were able to give him the opportunity to find his forever home with us. If we ever have the capasity to bring more rescues into our home I would definitely adopt from them again.

I filled out application and told them I don't have a fenced in yard and I am retired.I was trying to adopt two senior chihuahuas.They had me come meet the two senior chihuahuas and foster parents were really attached to them.I said I would take them and they called all my references.They refused me because I don't have fenced in yard. They already knew that and I never have let dogs outside by themself and also the two senior chihuahuas are pee pad trained.They never came to my house to see how equipped I am to take care of the two senior chihuahuas.Their excuse was very lame.Foster parents wanted them.Be care with this rescue. You will get your heart broken

Unfortunately I had an unhappy experience. Like several reviews before mine, I had Roxanne be completely rude to me. We showed an interest in a puppy and filled out the application. We received and email that simply said "we don't adopt to underground fence" which I totally am ok with. But I did respond with a few questions and within the email I kept saying I understand and I am ok with the answer if it's just how they adopt, but thought I'd still ask, doesn't hurt to ask. I got a response and the first sentence went like this "Jen, I'm not looking to get into a debate with you." Followed by a list of reason why they don't adopt to families with an underground fence. I'm ok with that 100%, if she could have just provided me with the reasons why, and not the first comment on assuming I was going to debate her, I would not be writing this review. The rescue has valid and great reasoning why they don't adopt to people without visible fences. I respect this.However with attitudes like that when people like myself are just looking to love a pet and give them a great home and life, couldn't you be a little kinder in response. I'm a loving person, stop assuming people are going to debate or get mad. This dog obviously was not meant for my family and that is ok. I pray it goes to a loving family with a safe home and a fence, and I hope its soon.

We adopted our special lil guy Waylon here. Are they thorough? Yes. Can I see them saying no to people who don't meet the requirements? Totally. They have a high bar but that's what makes them great!! They care enough to make sure the dogs are going good places and have good lives. Donate here. These people care alot and do great work.

The lady in the red van that has Fur fun on the back passenger side window damn near hit me while I was in a crosswalk because she didn't want to stop at the white line she chose to stop over the crosswalk blocking it from the handicapped guy that was waiting to cross the street and she almost hit me and I don't think she ever even saw me! The guy in the wheelchair waiting across the street is the one that pointed out I don't think she even knew you were in the intersectionShe was making a left hand turn from Wilson avenue to Edgewood road

You have to send in an application before you can see the dogs. I sent the application in on February 13th 2021. I called and left a message on February 18 2021 asking about the dog and if they received the application.I know that they're pretty busy as they all have full-time jobs plus running in this no-kill shelter but they didn't return the phone call. Email is about the only way to contact them. I I sent an email on February 23rd 2021 asking about the application and of course the dog.Fur Fun Rescue replied to my email that same day and said "We are all volunteers with day jobs and have been overwhelmed with applications. The first thing we do is to check your vet reference. Frey's told us that your dogs were neutered and up to date on vaccinations, but they don't show any record of heartworm prevention. I guess my question would be are you aware of the need for dogs to be provided heartworm prevention or was this somehow an error on Frey's part?"So I called my Vet's office and they said "Yes your dogs were here for all all current vaccinations and and had tested negative for heartworm.You had bought some heartworm medication from us". Since I decided to give them heartworm medication all year long I had gotten heartworm medication from the internet. I ran out in November. I replied to Fur Fun's email with the above information.I never heard back from them.

I would never recommend this animal shelter to anyone!!!! Very unprofessional, rude, and they think they can predict the future. Recently tried to adopt a dog, for my grandson, wife and myself. After many phone calls and an hour and a half drive to do a meet and greet with the dog, we were told that we didn’t qualify. We were given 3 reasons why. You will have a hard time believing this but it’s true. First reason was that when my grandson turns 16 ( in 3 years ) and starts to drive he will lose interest in the dog.Second reason was because my wife mentioned that she liked small dogs since that’s what she was raised around. So that remark made them believe that we didn’t really want the dog, we were just trying to please our grandson. Couldn’t be further from the truth. Their third reason was that people who adopt dogs are people who have had dogs in the past and their dog either died or got lost, there for since we didn’t have a dog in the past, they felt that us adopting a dog just wouldn’t work! Never in my life have I heard such lame excuses!!!! I hope and pray that none of this had anything to do with my grandson being black. If it did Lord have mercy on their souls.

Fur Fun Rescue is absolutely fantastic at adopting out their pets. They have a system which pretty much assures the adopter that they're getting the right animal. After failed attempts with other shelters, Fur Fun Rescue came through with Ranger, who is a perfect match for our home, our lifestyle, and our irritable cats. Thank you Fur Fun Rescue!!!

I completed the application on Cookie, called them TWICE, had to lv message. I understand volunteers, but how rude to not let me know one way or the other about Schnauzer Cookie. I have had several Schnauzers, know the breed quite well. I would certainly like to know WHY I wasn't given the courtesy of a reply and will not recommend this rescue group

This rescue truly cares about dogs! They do what is best for their dogs, no matter what. They go out of their way to help other rescues also as it is not a competition, it’s about saving animals. Blessed to work with this group!

I would like to say that this rescue is very disrespectful to potential adopters. I put in an application and did not here back for a few days. I emailed asking about the dog that I was very interested and the first time they said I couldn't adopt due to not having a fence. To which I replied if they were willing to make an exception I would like to meet her so they can get a vibe from me in person and realize she would be a great fit. But I got an email reply saying that I had roommates which meant they could not adopt to me, also stating 'no rescue can' which I know to not be true. Now I replied asking if they would be willing to meet be and my roommates and if they would allow it to work and asked why they didnt have either of these policies online and they didnt reply. I then called them and asked and the woman on the phone tired to hang up and 'call back' which I know was not going to happen as they had a poor history of replying. I'm very disappointed and I hope that someone would have a better experience with this shelter than I did. VERY disappointed.
