Being a huge ice cream fan (have some almost every night before bed), I couldn't wait to visit this place after hearing it was the Ice Cream Capital of the World. We finally had a chance during a recent trip home when we had a little extra time to spare. The building was modern, clean and full of energetic employees and the ice cream was delicious (see pictures). There was a great gift store to complement the ice cream counter as well as a small media center / showhall that shows a history of the family and company (see pictures). If you have the opportunity to swing a little out of the way on your trip up I-29, I highly recommend a quick stop in this quaint little town.Food: 5Atmosphere: 5Service: 5If you found this review helpful, please click on 'Like'. 😎😊

Great tasting ice cream! It was a fun little visit on our road trip. The upstairs offers a little history of Blue Bunny Ice cream and interactive stations for kids. It's truly a great place to check out!

Got to visit the Ice Cream Capital of the World. This place did not disappoint with the beautiful layout inside. The Ice Cream was great and they had many displays with a nice gift shop. Just what you think of when you think Ice cream Parlor The staff are super to talk with.

If you are in the area and looking for a short excursion this is the place to go. The experience is worth getting off of I-29 and heading over to the Blue Bunny (Wells) Ice Cream Parlor. The selections are amazing and the serving sizes are huge. One scoop is insane. The gift shop has lots of souvenirs to add to your collection. Don’t forget you can go up to the outdoor patio and enjoy your ice cream outside on the rooftop.

Two words - Lemon Meringue Float! Oh... that's three. Sorry I'm in a heavenly sugar coma. Staring at the rows of delicious flavours, it's almost easy to bypass this delicious treat. I think it took the young man longer to construct the float than it did for me to finish it. Seriously, you won't be disappointed.Unfortunately, the museum above the shop was still closed due to Covid, but I did get a few fun facts at the entrance.La Mars was named the Ice Cream Capital of the world in 1994, producing more ice cream than anywhere else annually.Wells Ice Cream is home to the Blue Bunny and Halo brands and uses enough ice cream sticks in its products each year to stretch from New York to San Francisco twice. The specially designed South Plant Freezer in La Mars is 12 stories high, and the 200 million gallons of ice cream produced each year could fill 5 Olympic-sized swimming pools every week of the year. Now you know. Go eat some ice cream.

Being that Le Mars is the Ice cream capital of the world you can't not visit the Blue Bunny ice cream parlor. The treats are priced reasonable and so much to look at while you eat your treat. The second floor has some fun stuff for the kiddos to be entertained while you snack. Plus a small theater to watch a 10 minute film about how they make the ice cream and information about the production. Definitely worth going along with a lot of the other stores along the way.

Oh boy was this a real treat. We took the long drive from Sioux Falls with the family and it was well worth it. This visit changed my opinion about Blue Bunny Ice cream for the better. They say you can taste all the flavors, but gee whiz, you'd really be holding up the line. Busy place on the weekends, in the summer none the less. (What should I have expected ? lol.) The kids loved it as did the adults.Reasonably priced. The employees all seemed to be high school kids and did lack some basic customer service skills. They seemed to be like a deer in the headlights. So lower your expectations there.

Interactive exhibits, rooftop patio, plenty of inside seating, 50+ flavors of ice cream, and gift items like t-shirts and Knick knacks. Theatre with documentary film. A fun stop for kiddos and adults off the interstate!

A hands-on mini museum for the kids. Great ice cream parlor. Nice gift shop. Cute town of Le Mars with other things to do. Too bad they don't have an ice cream factory tour for the public.

Such a lovely place to visit! Super friendly staff, incredible ice cream (of course), and educational exhibits with interactive things for kids. Great movie on the history of Wells (since 1913). This is a must visit if your nearby!

Our daughter is an ice cream lover and we decided that we needed to take her to the "Ice cream capitol of the world"! She had a great time and enjoyed the movie about the Wells family. I had a Peanut Butter shake and it was awesome. I rarely find them without chocolate so I was super excited to have it!

What is better than an ice cream museum? The history was very interesting. It all started in 1913 and grew from there. There is ice cream to eat while you visit (not for free but worth it). I will visit again if I get by here again.

This was so much fun! My kiddos loved the little games upstairs, and should I mention the ice cream? I am positive they keep it at the perfect scooping/eating temperature! We spent about an hour just hanging out.

I was brought here by a very good friend of mine. Let me just say - WOW!! The icecream is over the top and delicious. The portion sizes are a bit much, so this is pretty much dinner and dessert for the average person. My kids went nuts for this place. This is the kind of place ully expect to see on Buzzfeed insider. How if hasn't made the lists are beyond me. There really isn't much else to see in this town, but definitely worth a detour. By the way, the prices are very low, so this makes slipping into town for a nice cold treat even better.

We drove all the way from Omaha to this place as it is called the "Ice cream capital of the world". True to its name, the ice cream quality here was extremely good and the place was extremely hygienic. We got the "Banana split" sundae and the "chocolate volcano" sundae and they were really tasty. The prices were also decent. A must visit if you are around the Midwest.

The icecream is direct from the factory fresh. Today's was different, I ordered patasio almond icecream, but there were no nuts. The manager said, "That is not right," and proceeded to throw away the entire pail and gave me a new dish with my choice of icecream The butter pecan had nuts! The outdoor seating is nice! They give large servings with friendly service!

When in Le Mars, Iowa you must stop at Blue Bunny Ice Creamery. Great historical photos of ice cream making process when you tour the business. After your tour buy yourself an ice cream treat. A single waffle cone with two dips of ice cream is plenty.

Fun Ice cream parlor. I remembered it much differently as a kid but the parlor and gift shop have stayed the same. Long line that went really quick with many attentive employees working well together. Very friendly and very clean. Still has the classic old school vibe to the entire place. Not to mention that the ice cream was DELICIOUS!

Stopped here during Ice cream days. It was insanely busy but the staff was on top of everything. The place was clean even after huge rushes and the line moved quickly. They have entertainment for children upstairs, it teaches about how the ice cream is made in their factories. There was even a movie theater with a short film about the ice cream business. It was a great experience for my family. We will be back.
