Wow, this place has outstanding pizza. The crust was amazingly crisp. The sauce was out of this world delicious. The veggies were so fresh it was like they came right out of the garden. The sausage was very tasty with just the right amount of spices. The cheese bread was amazingly delicious. The customer service was fantastic and very friendly. The restrooms were super clean. The overall atmosphere was phenomenal. This is a must stop for pizza if you're in the area. This is very close to, if not one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten. They are definitely doing it right at this place.

My mother and I came in at 4:30 4/21 - I don’t know the names of the boy & girl who waited on us but they were so kind, positive and had great attitudes - something extremely rare for people their age. I’d like to commend them for excellent customer service and great attitudes with outgoing personalities in a world where that kind of service rarely exists. I just wanted to come in here an commend them. And of course the pizza was delicious as always!

We've visited LeClaire several times, as a point of vacation from Ohio. We've been wanting to try out Happy Joe's and finally decided to do so on this trip. We walked in around 6pm and stood around before noticing the sign close to the ground stating to seat yourself. People were standing in front of it so it was awkward standing around without acknowledgment. No one who worked there welcomed us or bothered looking us in the eye. This was the same for other guests. We sat, realized there were no menus at the table, so went back to the front to get one. These instructions were low to the ground and with people crowding the area, how can one see this? Order was placed at the counter around 6:18pm. We got our number and put it on the table. Cups were given for drinks so we served ourselves. We waited...and waited. My husband went up to the counter around 7p wondering where our order was. They stated they thought it was a pick-up order so our pizza and cheese sticks sat around for who knows how long. After another 5 minutes, it was brought to our table, no apology, and almost room temperature. We didn't even finish it as we were beyond disappointed and honestly, it wasn't good. Maybe that's because it had been sitting around? Anyway, while we waited for almost an hour, there were others who seemed to be waiting a long time too. They had waited so long they just wanted a box because they had to leave. At another table, a person appeared to be sleeping with their head on the table for at least 15 minutes. When we left, there was at least one person who appeared to work there and just socializing with another person, who may have also worked there. We had to pass by them to leave and again, not acknowledged for visiting. There were 4 tables that needed cleared (3 in the time we were there), but socilaizing was clearly more important. There seems to be a serious lack of leadership. We will not be returning.

We LOVE LOVE Happy Joe's and travel VERY far for the taco pizza and sometimes just do a road trip specifically here. Taco Pizza is the bomb - Crust, sauce, taco meat, tomatoes, cheese, lettuce and taco sauce. $$ Prices certainly went up, up, up. One medium and one large taco pizza was $60! We make a point to stop here whenvever we are on the Illinois/Iowa border.

Happy Joe's has been a staple in LeClaire for decades and many good memories have been made here over the years. HJ's is by far my favorite of the different pizza styles here in the QC, and this location has some of the friendliest staff. There's a reason why I've loved this pizza for over 30 years!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free crust option and some options for vegetarians

Emma was a gem! Other employees were pleasant but more interested in chatting among themselves. When we arrived around 6ish it was obvious they had been 'slammed'. Every table was a disaster of leftovers! It looked as though every slob in town had left their mark. We asked if someone might clear and clean a table that was somewhat clean. 'Emma' said 'sure'... and she did! Between the time we arrived, ordered, and ate, not one employee made any effort to 'buss' any table. We ate, surrounded by garbage. Finally, Emma arrived and dutifully cleaned up every table to include the debri under and around each table! We were impressed with her diligence, congratulated and tipped her. Was the pizza and salad good? As usual, 'Yes'. Will we return? Absolutely! (Owners might want to explain 'bussing' etiquette to their youthful employees.)

Ordered the Meat works pizza yesterday during Vettes on the river car show. I got there as soon as it was coming out of the oven. The staff and owner were super friendly! They supplied us with paper plates and napkins. We went back to the car show to eat. It was the best pizza I’ve had in a long time! I will definitely be back next year or anytime I’m in the area! I would highly recommend this establishment to everyone!

Everyone that knows me knows that I am a huge fan of Main Street Pizza in Michigan. Well I have found another place that has pizza that tastes just as good! We ordered a large pizza with our favorite toppings and it was delicious. A small town vibe with excellent pizza. Menu has a variety of things to order if you're looking for something other than pizza. They also offer great tasting ice cream!🍨🍕 I will definitely come back again❤️

My favorite Happy Joe's!Rich is so kind. My husband doesn't eat cheese and they are so accommodating to put cheeseless pizza on the buffet (which they totally don't have to do!). The price can't be beat at $11 a person and then a dollar something for each age under 10. I don't recall exactly.They have some great little games inside, too. One is a claw game that keeps giving you chances until you win a prize. That's pretty darn cool.Best pizza around

Good pizza! Friendly service!We went for the lunch pizza and pasta bar. They asked what pizza was my favorite, I said Canadian Bacon. There was not one on the pizza bar so they made a new one. The server brought my wife and I the first 2 pieces from the new pizza. That was fun! (BTW, it was a "pizza" and "pasta" bar. When we were there, there was not a "salad" bar, although there were some good hot green beans. This is not a place for a "lettuce" bar. I still give it 5 stars when rating what they have, not what they do not have.) Love the dessert pizza! Blessings.

Really gross. Not sure how this place has 4.4 stars?!?! I got 2 larges for pickup. All the teenagers had attitudes and were roudy. Watched a couple of them touch their phones and then make food and eat while preparing food. THEN a girl sneezed and did not wash her hands…. No wonder why my Nona (Whos immune system is compromised) and I had severe stomach issues after. The lack of food safety I saw while waiting was criminal. If food poisoning could be life threatening to you…… DONT EAT HERE

Never again will I order from Leclaire. Ordered a half meat lovers and half bacon, canadian bacon. Came with sausage all over it. Then am being argued with by the teen gal who answered phone. Had to explain to her 3 times sausage all over it. Told her I know what sausage looks like and said so do I. Then spoke with manager Carly arguing with me as well. Said she's only 16. Yeah well then it's your job to tell her teach her how not to comment something snotty to a customer. Wish I could upload a pic here. Not only wrong but looked horrible too for 28 bucks with a 5 dollar tip.

I would give them more stars if possible. The pizza was amazing. Their vegetarian pizza has sauerkraut on it and I was shocked at how good it tasted.This is not the reason I would give them 10 stars though. The way we were greeted when we came in the door. The care of making a gluten-free pizza. We ordered buffet and they brought it to me than put the rest on the bar. All the flavors the rest of my party tried were said to be delicious. Thank you.

First time visiting the LeClaire, IA location. I LOVE IT!! As soon as you walk in, the whole restaurant has an open feeling and look; the pizza ovens and ingredients are all visible to see. And it is spacious inside; at first look it looks like a large gathering could take up the whole seating area, but there is plenty of seating for even the hungriest of crowds! Definitely making another special trip soon; highly recommended if you love Happy Joe's Pizza and Ice Cream Parlor!

Stopped in Le Claire Iowa as we were passing through and thought this would be a good place for lunch….. and it was! We enjoyed the Combo Plus pizza on the back deck, enjoying the view of the Miss. River and a large barge moving by. Pizza was fresh, with fresh ingredients. The owner/manager and staff were incredibly cordial and attentive. A great experience. We will make a point to stop by again.

Very rude staff. Made the decision not to eat because of this.Update: I did call so that they could "make it right" and a younger male answered the phone and was claiming to be the GM and manager was even more rude than my initial experience. Good thing there are so many more options better than to deal with rude staff for mediocre food.

Holy cow! Last minute stop before hitting the road home & so happy I recalled they have a patio out back. They were so accommodating for my dog (lots of belly rubs & a water dish!). Everyone was SO nice, from start to finish. We considered ordering a pitcher of soda and a pizza but why bother when you can do the buffet! The taco pizza was my family’s favorite. I’m not a sweets person but loved their cinnamon-bun-type pizza. The cost was beyond amazing for the food but it’s the atmosphere (pinball and Pac-Man!) and the lovely staff that will have us back every time. Happy to support local business ✨
