Good Food, they do cook their Tenderloins a tad too long.Ice Cream choices are totally awesome, radical, in abundance!!Dietary restrictions: They have Frozen Yogurt for those on a Diet or are Diabetic.Also has a Drive Thru.Parking: Several parking spots around the front & {R} side of building & across the lot.Kid-friendliness: All kids are welcome, they have a kids menu plus kid portions of different types of Ice Cream & drinks.

This is a fantastic place! And remember this is not fast food. I had a burger, fries (crispy), and a malt. My wife had the fish sampler. I wish we lived closer, would come here ask the time.

It might be good? Been waiting 45 minutes for a hamburger and still waiting. I guess we'll be riding back to Waterloo in the dark,😕 ... update: We never did get food. After about 50 minutes we asked again if they would make us a hamburger and they said it should only be about 10 more minutes. At that point we asked for a refund. The manager wasn't happy about it, but did refund our money. Ate a slice of Casey's pizza for dinner an hour later. I'd give that 3.5 stars.

Stopped by when passing through as we've enjoyed the ice cream over the decades. We noticed they had tenderloin sandwiches on menu, got one each. Best decision I've made this year as that sandwich was flat out awesome. Everything was perfect. The batter, the size, cooked just right and even the condiments. Just simply outstanding. Fast service and friendly staff. Yum yum yum.....

Cool little food stop. Crazy big menu full of treats and real food. I thought they forgot my order but then they gave me a free cone for the wait. Good grub.

There was hair in my daughter's ice cream. She pulled her spoon out of her ice cream and there was dark hair on her spoon. I took it back to the window and told the boy and he didn't know what to do. I asked for another to be made he did so with no problem. We received no apology or remorse. They forgot to make all of our order so we had a long wait, though we were their only customers. While waiting I noticed that a few of them not wearing anything to cover their hair, so before leaving I questioned the older woman who came to the window only to be responded with attitude and told they do not have to wear anything if hair is short enough. Though it was a short maybe 2 inch hair in my child's ice cream

Great local place - perfect for a meal along the Cedar Valley Nature Trail. They have covered outdoor seating so you can sit in the shade.Kid-friendliness: They have kids meals.

This place had great FRESH items on their menu. Loved the food, it was delicious and you could tell made to order. Prepare yourself for a wait if you do order food, just vecause it is made to order.The black raspberry malt I had was delisiously rich and refreshing 😋

UPDATE: I have added a star. The last few times I have been here they have upped their game! Everything has been great. Where most places have gone a bit downhill with the lack of staff, it seems tootsies has really taken it in stride and are really doing a great job!Always hit or miss. Ice cream is good...sometimes. Twisters are either good or...like tonight, come with pretty much no toppings mixed in. Service is typically friendly.

Didn't care for it much. The car filled up with flies while waiting at the drive thru. They gave us our food with no sauce of any kind with the chicken strips and onion rings. The guy who took our order was nice but I will not being back.

Great place to stop if you like to search out fun little restaurants and ice cream shops while driving the back roads of Iowa. Big selection of ice cream and great drive in style food. Outside seating view of the downtown.

Perfect small town ice cream stand/grill. Surprisingly large selection of items, everything tasted good, and it was a fun place to visit. Service was a little slow, but I think there were only a couple people in there, and it's almost expected (and the register guy let us know how long it would be). We were only passing through for a soccer game, but we'll plan on visiting again whenever we're by Laporte City!

I just went there with my church group and our service wasn't that bad. Yeah it's slow but it is very small so it didn't bother me for taking the 10 minutes. Their food is delicious thought! My friends all love eating there and the food has not yet let me down. 😌

Was passing through here and stopped here for lunch. Busy little place. Food was good and so was the ice cream. I ordered a fish sandwich and asked for lettuce and cheese and tarter and they for got the lettuce and cheese thats the only complaint I have. The gal was very friendly. Will stop there again if im ever in the area again.

Man,you guys have great burgers for sure. Grab two or three small burgers,head down the road and enjoy.Nice thing is ,they are wrapped in foil so you can drive and not end up spilling on your shirt. Great place and nice folks too!

Amazing little shop! They sell ice cream, from a machine and cold. Which is good. Ain’t nobody tryna get hot ice cream. AKA Milk. Food is great though. Burgers, a chicken and sides are all good. Came through last week from Des Moines and the girl up front was very kind to me. Lil short thang. 13/9 would recommend coming here!

Great small town food and ice cream joint. The staff are friendly and the food is pretty good. The ice cream is amazing. Ignore the negative reviews. Tootsies is a great place to get a bite to eat with some great dessert to follow.
