Well worth the 45 minute drive for the price to have my kitten neutered, and vaccinated. I was skeptical at first, because the price is so low compared to anywhere in or around Cedar Rapids, and they had a few negative reviews, but I had no issues with this clinic. We picked up our kitten the next day, and they said to keep him from running around and jumping for about a week, but he was back to being himself after about 24 hours, and even though it was impossible to keep him from running and jumping, he healed up just fine.

Awesome place to go. I even had an emergency with my puppies and Dr. Gator came to my house to teach me how to tube feed the puppies. Prices are very good. Building is old, but this a small town operation. People are great or have been to us anyways.

I love this veterinary he really takes the time to find out what is wrong with your pet. Offers suggestions to best treat my dog cat. Great explaining on how to give the meds to my dog. My pets look like they know they are loved when they leave there. I really know that with that help. Really makes me feel happy.

Very disappointed and saddened! We recently lost a family member near and dear to us. She needed surgery and after speaking with another vet, who tried to save her life, we were told the initial surgery looked rushed. Initial incision was not even remotely straight. We were told by various vets, that while there is risk, if done properly and done thoroughly, there was a good chance a second surgery would of been unnecessary and she would still be with us. When I voiced my concerns of potential problems I was given blanket statements. "Bring her in we can give her another shot of antibiotics." "Leakage and discharge can be expected." I explained that I found her in puddles of a mixture of blood on 3 occasions. This was more than discharge and a rammed abdomen. This is only the part of the overall negative experience. We will not use this vet again and highly encourage others to seek out another animal hospital.

They have been wonderful with our little poodle Toby. They diagnosed his diabetes, and always respond to any questions or problems in a timely manner. Dr Meester and Chrystal (sp?) are the best.

As soon as I got there I had to wait for 30 mins past my scheduled time. I had to sit on the floor and wait. No one said anything to me or even acknowledged we were there. I kept getting dirty looks because my dog just had puppies so she looks different right now. They treated me like I was stupid for bringing her in. Sorry I was concerned for my animal.. When I was done they basically booted me out the door. Also there were bugs everywhere on the floor. I recommend not taking your animal here. I've seen a lot better places than this! But if you want rude people and a dirty place go a head. I'm never coming here again. I'd rather pay $400 else where to get my other dog fixed than $150 at La Porte City Vet.

My 14 week old puppy found a 16 Ga Treble hook and hooked her self turned her into a a dog fish. This was at 9 o clock at night. I didn’t know what to do. We called La Porte City vet and they answered right away. We met Dr. Meester. He got us in and out and our little Lilly was safe and sound. Upon asking how much, we couldn’t believe how affordable it was for an emergency. We will be bringing both of our dogs here from now.

They take excellent care of our dog. They come to your car to get your animal and bring them back out when they are done and explain what they did. With covid this is great. Also if you need something like meds refilled they have it ready and you pick it up outside. It's tied on the railing waiting for you.

If I could give zero I would !I feel this place discriminated against me because I live in Waterloo. As soon as I told him WHERE I lived he said he wasn't taking anymore client's! Like wow I'm pretty sure it's illegal to discriminate on people based on WHERE they live? So my 🐈 cat doesn't deserve proper care and or treatment cuz I live in Waterloo. Smh 😂😭😭 that's funny . Ole well I guess I dont want to go anywhere we arent welcome nor wanted so thats fine with me thanks for doing me a favor! Good luck!

Prices are very reasonable and the staff is great very friendly and have always answered my questions. The Dr. is very compassionate and attentive took my baby there for 10 years today we will take our final trip for cremation can't say enough about this place

Really like Dr. Meister. Our 8 month old Golden Retriever had a bad seizure, called him at 7pm and he met us there. Did a critter watch all night, all day, came back next night after hours to spring her with instructions & two weeks of medication for $88.00!

Friendly staff with great veterinarians who give wonderful care for reasonable prices, you can't go wrong. Years ago after paying more to hear, "there's nothing we can do" we went to LPV for a second opinion. Since then, all of our pets have recieved wonderful care from the staff at LPV, and have had their lives extended thanks to the devotion to care of the veterinarians that work there.

Fantastic pet care, very compassionate when my sister in law's cat was diagnosed with FIP, Feline Infectious Peritonitis. Deadly disease with no known cure at this time. Apparently, Kansas State is working on a cure and/or a preventative, but not found yet. Really hope they find something soon. We will all miss Cletus the cat very much, especially the 4 yr old.

Dr. Meester came into the office on a Saturday when my sister's cat was in distress. We had to put her to sleep, but Dr. Meester was so kind to Baby and my sister despite the fact that she was too sick to save. Thank you so much Dr. Meester.🙏🙏

Don’t take your dog for surgery here. This is your warning. The vet rushes everything and not only resulted in the passing of my dog but from the sounds of it, multiple others.
