Misty's Malt Shop makes one of the best breakfasts I've every had. The bacon was three times thicker than what you'd find in almost anywhere else. Everything was very reasonably priced, servers were fun and great overall, and their menu makes me want to visit more to try out their malts, sandwiches, wings, and other breakfast options. Misty's is a hidden gem well worth visiting if you are anywhere nearby.

We were traveling from our home in Florida seeking a good Iowa pork tenderloin sandwich. We happened on Misty's by chance and finally got our sandwiches. Simply put, they were the best we ever had. We also tried one of their specialties, black raspberry, soft serve ice cream. It was incredible!!!We try to get back to Iowa every year.From now on, we will make a point to stop at Misty's Malt Shop.

When I was ordering my black raspberry ice cream I noticed a small sign that said Dutch Apple Pie. I love dutch apple pie so I got some of that too, and it turned out to be a great decision. My ice cream was exactly what I hoped for and the pie was an excellent homemade treat. The first was on point and the crust was top notch. If you love dutch apple pie you should get some too. I'll have to try the food the next time I'm passing though because everyone else was getting sandwiches and burgers while I was there.Kid-friendliness: It's an ice cream shop... Of course it's kid friendly.

Delicious food and decent price! Introduced to this small place by a co-worker after they recommended the Steak & Cheese wraps. Tasted great and also recommend their Cody or Mushroom/swiss burgers too!Items that i've ordered otherwise that are also on the menu have been good too!

Local place with limited parking. Cash only accepted. Fantastic tenderloins sandwiches that are huge. Ice cream is also very good. Lots of different choices. Great little place to eat if you are in the area. Ate here several times while in town on business

Surpringly large menu for a "malt shop"! Every time I go here, I get the breaded pork tenderloin and it's one of the best in the area. Their ice cream is great as well. And they have started accepting credit/debit cards so it os no longer cash only. Only real negative I can think of is a lack of public restrooms, but the gas station across the street has them, so it's not that big of a deal.

Sizes are huge! Lots of bang for your buck. Mine was a medium cookie dough topswirl. Hers was a small turtle sundae. The ice cream is really good. The fries were eh but I come there for ice cream.

Just left. Misty herself was having a break at a table if I heard correctly. A younger woman was sort of lean-laying across the counter when I came in. I tried to order the pizza burger and she asked me what I want on it. I asked her what normally comes on it and got an elaborate shrug and then she asked if I wanted ketchup and mustard, so I said nevermind how about just a regular cheeseburger 😆. I took the burger and a butterscotch malt across the street to the park. Both were very tasty.

I got the black raspberry ice cream! It was amazing! That is now my new favorite icecream in the world! The second time I went I went with half chocolate. It was the best! It's like chocolate covered raspberries! Kid-friendliness: It's all about icecream. So yeah kids will love it.and the food!

I was visiting family in Iowa and we stopped in for lunch on our way to Bentonsport. Admittedly, it doesn't look like much when you walk in but what it lacks in ambiance it makes up for in variety, value, and flavor!My mom and I split the Pork Tenderloin sandwich. Unless you can put away enough food for two or more people, I recommend splitting the sandwich. The kitchen even gave us two buns and halved the tenderloin for us! We also got a side order of fries, which were shoestring, piping hot, and delicious!The staff was incredibly nice as well.A couple drawbacks to prepare for:1) Everything is priced separately. The sandwich didn't come with a choice of side so we paid menu price for our fries; however, we also did not pay any more than we would have if we had gotten the same kind of thing at a chain restaurant.2) It's a cash only business. No debit. (They might take checks but I'm unsure).If I should find myself in Keosauqua again, I'll definitely be dining at Misty's!

Great food and atmosphere! Their menu is huge, something for everyone. I got the patty melt with a side of friend and it was delicious, everything is made to order. Cash or check only which could be an inconvenience but I appreciated it. I will definitely be back to try some of their other meals and of course get some ice cream!

We had turtle sundaes. The small was more than I should have eaten (but it was so good I couldn't stop myself.) The ice cream is smooth and creamy and the fudge and caramel was fantastic.Pro tip for first timers: upon ordering I noticed there was a sign stating they were cash or check only. Fortunately I had cash with me (prices were pretty reasonable.)

This place is a staple of Keo. We love coming here for ice cream as a family. They also have a ton of food options - we've gotten the grilled chicken wraps a few times and they are delicious, and made with fresh ingredients. The curly fries and tater tots are super crispy and perfect. I hope this place sticks around for many more years!

Place is small and clean. They also have a walk up take out window. All the food is cooked to order. Served fresh and hot. The tenderloin is a 2 meal size, I love it. I also like the steak and cheese sandwich with onions, peppers and mushrooms. The bun was toasted on the grill with butter, but not too much, yummy. Prices are very reasonable. One of my favorite places in Keo. I recommend you stop here and see if you agree with me.

Great food. The loaded nacho is a great value along with tenderloin, which is very good. Customer service is not quite consistent. Young man was very good who took our order, however the young lady who brought it was argumentative when we wanted to check our order, and rightly so, the naco was missing 2 toppings we requested and loaded fries were missing the chili we paid extra for. I'll still give 4 stars because the food is good and this could be a fluke. I've been there before.

Stopped on our way home from vacation mid-afternoon. Had delicious loose meat Burger, fries, a misty Burger, shake, and their version of a blizzard. Delicious made to order and we sat inside. There was a line at the takeout window but we wanted a place to sit down. Not crowded. Delicious we will be back!
