We have Doberman puppies, and although for the 3 day window they didn't have staff available to help they gave us plenty of recommendations. The puppies parents had been being seen by town and country in Washington previously. The difference between the two is night and day. I will always recommend the staff at Kalona!Our puppies had their 6 week vaccination and check up visit yesterday. The staff was completely informative and far more welcoming to questions than our old vet. They made it abundantly clear that if ever we have any questions call them. They gave us a full schedule of upcoming vaccines and visits recommended. The old vet we saw never gave us anything like that.I will forever take all my animals to Kalona as the staff if amazing and glorious. They are great people and extremely helpful/knowledgeable. They all gushed over the puppies and made us feel welcomed. I strongly urge everyone to go to Kalona. They are the best!!!!!!!!

Took our King Charles Caviler Spaniel in to get speyed and would spend the night for observation after. My partner and I had never spent more than a few hours away from our Daisy and we were totally nervous and filled with anxiety at the idea of her being away so long. The people at the Clinic were so very nice and made us feel so much better about this during the entire process. I at this point would not trust our puppy with anyone else but this team in the future. They are awesome.

My new "puppy" is 11 years old. The front ladies remember Pebbles and like her, and she likes them. Pebs has few teeth left, and I explained that, when the vet offered her a treat and she didn't immediately eat it. The vet bent down, retrieved the treat, broke it in lil pieces and gave those back to my pup! Pebbles enjoyed that VERY much. These are my new fave people.

The Dr. took my call on Labor Day and quickly put my beloved 14 yr old Yellow Lab down as she all the sudden was ready to go home. I thank the Dr for his service during the holiday. Very professional and reasonably priced.

Our little dog got hit by a car. He needed immediate attention, he needed his eye removed. The only place that would treat him wanted $5000 and our local was not helpful or sympathetic. I decided to call Kalona Vet Clinic, the BEST decision! They got him in first thing next morning, surgery was quick. They were so great. We will never take our dogs anywhere else. Super reasonable and inexpensive but incredibly caring and compassionate. Wonderful people.

We started taking out two dogs to them after we moved into town. After a year, our dog got really sick wouldn't eat or drink. We called numerous times to get him seen by them but were told to wait 4 days to see if he gets better. He died on day 2 after calling them about a dozen times. Stay away!!!

The staff were all friendly and helpful. My dog, Milo, got wonderful treatment. They are doing curbside visits now and when Milo got back into the car he was wagging his tail and smiley. Great price, great service, and the vet was very knowledgeable! Will continue to come back here.

Always friendly and very clean! I've been going here for 10 years with my own dogs, add 8 more years for family pets. They are very compassionate and care for all animals! The Doctors and staff at the Kalona Veterinary Clinic are wonderful. We have taken our pets there for over 20 years and they have always been helpful in every situation from general care to times of urgent need and the eventual loss of your dear pet.They have answered our questions patiently and professionally even when the questions were simple.They have also done a wonderful job with our livestock.Highly recommend!

We had an emergency with our family dog today and the clinic was able to get us in right away. They were an amazing group of vets, techs and office personnel. Our trip there ended with extreme sadness but this group had so much compassion for us and our beautiful belle and made the appointment as easy on us as possible! I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for amazing people! When we again have a pet dog I will be taking it to this clinic!!!

DO NOT RECOMMEND, CAN NO-LONGER RELY ON THEM!! We had to put down our family cat after 15 yrs. The Dr. STABBED her leg 3X!! BEFORE getting the right spot= INCOMPETENT! This caused her alot of UNNECESSARY PAIN & STRESS, so she wanted to bite him (she NEVER bites), he then wanted to MUZZLE her! The whole process was very upsetting w/this stress added! We loved the old original Dr. there who must have retired. We will NOT be going back now, the younger staff is very RUDE!

At this time I can not say a whole lot about this clinic other than the staff was very friendly & helpful. With this Covin virus most vets either limit or ban most public from entering their clinics...which I feel is a good thing because who knows for 100+% that our beloved fur children can neither catch or transmit this virus. And since there are still those who refuse to mask up and/or stay home if they're ill, I personally feel a whole lot better about critter doctor visits!!!Would I go back to the clinic if need be in future.... absolutely!!!

Thor & Zeus have been fur clients since pups. They are now 9 yrs old. Last year Thor got an open area on his left back foot. Dr.Schlaubaigh saw him every two days for a bandage change, which Thor only chewed off once. His charge was so reasonable. Both boys don't mind going there and flirt with the technicians, too. Can't say enough about Dr.Schlaubaugh. just the kindest best vet ever.

I'll be giving this place a two star because they do well in the vet part but the grooming place was HORRIBLE! They made my dog look like he accidentally ran under the lawnmower. They said they weren't going to cut it short but it was a buzz cut. A 4 year old could do better. If you're here for the vet definitely go. If you need a hair cut for your FURRY friend go somewhere else. It's a waste of money.
