The young man Dawson who has been there has REALLY gotten the store together, shelves have had more on them than in a long time! He and Charity are both very personable, helpful, and pleasant.

On Thursday, Dec 21, 2023 my daughter was fired from Dollar General in Jefferson, IA while she was under medical supervision. She had been having trouble with a lot of pain in her neck and back along with a a severe headache. She had been to the hospital and doctors office to figure out what was going on and they just sent her home. This had been going on for about two weeks. She even had documentation about this and instead of the district manager listening to what she had to say they just let her go over the phone. Last night the pain was so severe that she lost her vision. When she got to the hospital they told that there was fluid build up on her optical nerve. She was immediately transferred to the University of lowa Hospital.When she arrived they confirmed the findings and she was sent into brain surgery at 11:00am on Christmas Day. She had spinal fluid leaking into her brain. A plastic tube was permanently placed in her brain to her stomach. This is not a place to work. If you are looking for a job I would look somewhere else.

This place is really messy and crammed. Items are sometimes in the wrong location so the correct price isn't known. The manager is very rude, never smiles, and acts like she hates it there. The employees stand right by the entrance and smoke, so customers have to walk through smoke to enter.

Kim was a sweetheart, she knew I was coming from 40 miles away and they had an item I had been looking for and she held it til I got there. The other gal working helped me find the dog toys so I didn't have to walk all over trying to locate them. Store was clean, fully stocked, and very friendly and helpful staff!! Wish our store here was like theirs! Would definitely shop there again!!!

The store's shelves were empty in a lot of areas. Very poor section of greeting cards!!! And...there weren't even a lot to choose from! Sorry but I get my Hallmark cards at Dollar Tree with a nice selection!

Very poor. Not open and closed with no reason. Unable to get what i need. The shelves are a mess half the time waiting for check out. Cause one outside smoking while the others trying to stock the shelves. Overall bad service. Had better in des moines and perry.

Since their renovation, they've had a lot more of a selection of random items. The only issue I have, and the reason a star is missing, is that they stopped selling clothing. They do have a strong selection of food, auto care, animal needs and accessories, toys, arts and crafts, board games, tobacco products, and ects. No reason to run all over town when you can find most of what you need right here at Dollar General.

This may be a small town setting, but I just had the best customer service. I don't want to call out anyone's name for privacy reasons. But let's just say I didn't have enough in my funds to buy diapers for my child and cough medicine. Struggling to pay, being very calm and trying to figure out how I was going to pay for this. They were the nicest people about it and helped. This is a very kind understanding Dollar general

This store is so small that only one person can be in an aisle. Poles in the aisle is also a hassle. Definitely not a handicap friendly. They need more help. The workers(most of them) are very helpful

Dollar General in general needs to show a little more class in their stores. The sloppiness of this retailer makes it hard to enjoy going into their stores and buying products at a cheaper price. Show more class to your employees and customers and I'm pretty sure you all can turn this sloppiness around.

Very friendly employees!!! Eager to help. Was looking for a remote control toy for a girl age 4.... hardly any thing there. More 4X ladies clothing would be great . Nobody in Jefferson carry them! GREAT STORE!!!

Shelves were bare. Merchandise all over the floors. No organization what so ever. Staff did not seem concerned about the complete disaster the store was in. Not sure how they stay in business

It's a good place. There's lots of snacks and drinks, and kids assortment items. Everything is cheaper which I like. It's a good place to take kids to spend money that they have or to get them a small treat.

Went in looking for an item. Couldn't find what I was looking for. I asked the manager, and all she said was if it's not there, then we don't have it. Not friendly or helpful at all. Aisles are such a mess and empty.

We go there alot but hate to say this one of the employees is very unfriendly and rude !!!!! Theres so many customers unhappy ....attitudes need to change. Other wize ok......
