We went to Walgreens on Muscatine avenue around 9pm to purchase some cold medicine. While walking through the aisle we noticed some items are on the floor on both sides. We picked few items while employee was just walking around doing absolutely nothing. We went to the cashier turns out he's a cashier. He was talking to another cashier and laughing about something while customers were waiting to pay for their items. One of the customers asked to be assisted both of them got mad. They provide her service in rude and disrespectful wayWe told them get some manners if you work in such a place and position. They start arguing with us. So pretty much they're arguing with everyone instead of assisting their customers which is their job. We left our items and left as others did the same. Horrible, horrible. Whatever happened to this place? During a day every one is professional during a night shift it's like a Jungle. Management needs to provide training pronto.

Lousy customer service: While those of us waiting at the pharmacy counter in the store for staff to help us, they drop everything to wait on the customers at the drive-up window who can't be bothered to get out of their cars to walk into the store. These are people who arrive after we have been standing in line often for several minutes.

Worst pharmacy in Iowa City, constantly dealing with mistakes that cause delays and long wait times to get your prescription. I’m typing this as I’ve just waited in line for 30 minutes to get a prescription. Have had other issues on the past where they took days to get a prescription filled for my 1 year old. If you are looking for a better pharmacy town crest is next door and cvs is across the street.

I had vaccine shots recently at the Muscatine Walgreens. The "medical room" was absolutely filthy. Bandaid wrappers, random paper, and used gauze balls on the floor, which was nearly blackened with dirt. Astoundingly horrible for a treatment area. Add that to long waits and disinterested staff, and it is clear it is time to go somewhere else.

Do not give Walgreens Photo Center your film photos. They took my roll of 72 half-frame exposures and lost it forever. The prints were all badly cropped and printed in the wrong orientation (whoever developed them didn't know or care that these were half frames) and the digital copies on the accompanying CD were someone else's (congratulations to the Roelfs - it's a girl). When I asked the employees at the desk if they can give us the contact info of the company that developed the film, so that I can ask them for digital copies if not the roll back, the Walgreens employee said they don't have the number or email of the very company they sent the film to. How? Did they put the film in a bottle and hope that the ocean would carry it to a developer?They said the CD with my (very intimate) photos was given to someone else, and there is no way of knowing who.I can't trust Walgreens again with my photos. In fact, I find that I can't trust anyone with anything anymore.

Very poor service indeed. Expect your prescription to be late, miscounted, or simply altogether forgotten. The call/care center is to be avoided completely. They almost always get it wrong. Try to get the pharmacy techs at the actual store. Used to be a respectful, efficient location. Now I'm forced to transfer to HyVee. They claim to be forever understaffed. People with vital prescriptions beware!

I am not sure what’s wrong with the Pharmacy, I see 3 to 4 people always working there. What is the point of going to Urgent Care when you don’t feel well if you won’t get the medication the same day? or early next morning? but more than 24 hrs after the doctor sends it, and they are aware because it shows the status as in progress. And when I called, after literally waiting for 2 hrs, they were extremely rude, wouldn’t allow me to finish any sentence and responded “we are doing everything we can”. Again, not sure if they are under staff, or what the issue might be.

The girl at the photo counter was incredibly rude. Barely made an effort to find my stuff and stared at me while I stepped aside and frantically tried to figure out what went wrong. She finally realized maybe it was an order submitted online (she never asked and is that not the majority of their photos these days??) and acted like ringing me up was a pain. She acted like I was a huge burden the whole time. I don’t expect employees to be cheery all the time but maybe don’t treat customers like gum on your shoe. Do better.

This place is very short staffed, and they have a lot of turnover. So the people in the pharmacy are mostly very slow and don't know what's going on. There is always a problem: can't find the name, the med, the insurance. This time we're waiting for 45 minutes at the window while they look for a med that was supposedly ready hours ago, and then they closed the register for 30 minutes for lunch just as they were ringing us up. I don't know why I've put up with them for so many years, I'm moving all of our prescriptions over to Towncrest.

I’ve had some of the worst experiences with Walgreens, to write them all down would take up more time then I’m willing to part with. Trying to transfer to a new pharmacy and the pharmacist straight up lied that our prescriptions were out.

Pretty terrible experience last time I went, and it's usually pretty ok but this time I ordered curbside pickup. I hit the button to say I'm here and waited. Nothing for 5 minutes so i called like it says to. The woman came outside and said they don't have my order and that it was just picked up by doordash. I responded that I didn't order delivery, I ordered and told the store I'd pick up curbside. She just replied that the orders not here and they just gave an order to door dash and to "go home and wait" and walked away. Door dash doesn't have my information so I knew I wasn't getting it delivered especially since I did not select delivery.She didn't seem to want to admit she gave my order to another person. I called customer service and talked to a very sweet and understanding woman who helped me to get a refund so that was the only thing that bettered the whole experience. Needless to say the order was not at my home.

Pharmacy day staff ‐ nice. Evening staff was a different story. Not sure of who the tech was that waited on us but she'd walked away while we're still talking to her, not once but twice. She just did not look pleasant and acted like she didn't care. After about 20 minutes or so, I was finally able to get my medicine. I also I have a $5 co pay for which I ended up paying$55 for my medicine instead of$5. I tried to call this walgreens when I got back home with questions regarding my prescription only for them to ignore my calls (tell me they don't have caller id). I ended up calling my insurance the next day about the co pay - sure enough they over charged me $50. Fortunately, my insurance is going to reimburse me but not without the hassle of tracking down the correct forms, submitting them and waiting for a check in the mail. Will definitely not use this walgreens again.

This location used to be the best in the city but has steadily gone downhill. My largest complaint (as others have mentioned) is their erratic hours. Often time closes Early or opens late, only way to know is to see the sign on the front (usually once your arrive to see it closed). Pharmacy is even worse, as they can't seem to staff their department for their already shortened hours. I often will put in a prescription order a day in advance & they still can't manage to fill it the next day. The status will show in progress, leaving me in limbo.Gave it 2 stars as their employees are very nice and have good attitudes. Sadly management is lacking.

They are constantly failing to communicate with clinics and insurance companies, so everytime I get a new Rx I have to play phone tag the whole day. There is seemingly zero (0) communication between staff in the pharmacy and many of the technicians I've interacted with have given poor customer service and just seemed mad to be interacting with customers at all. Calling takes at least 10 minutes because there's never staff to answer the phone. The only thing they have going for them is Express Pay, but they routinely screw that up for me too. There's literally three other pharmacies on the corner of Muscatine and First, go to one of those and steer clear of this cluster.Edited to add: I forgot to even mention all the times that they put I'd picked up my meds when I hadn't or today when they LOST MY PRESCRIPTIONS.

This pharmacy is a disappointment. I went in right at 8 am when they were supposed to be open. I waited almost 10 minutes only for an employee to inform me that the pharmacist woke up late and is in Cedar Rapids and won’t be able to open the pharmacy until 9:30 am. I was told that I could transfer my medicine to a different Walgreens if I wanted to. This along with the complete shut down for 30 minutes to an hour for a lunch break (and the lunch hours seem to be forever changing without notice, seems they use their own discretion as to when to completely shut down for lunch) are just a few of the reasons I am switching pharmacies. I was also told by a tech recently that my medicine (which I have taken for quite some time) isn’t covered by my insurance. I called my insurance company and guess what? It’s covered just like it always has been. Also, if you are in the drive thru lane and it is within 5 minutes of their “lunch hour” they will throw up a sign in the drive thru window and stop waiting on customers. No matter how long you have been sitting there waiting. Like I said, disappointing and just outright ridiculous. Save yourself the headache and go to a better pharmacy.

Walgreens is a good drugstore with a wide variety of goods ranging from prescription and otc medications, personal care products, food and drink, office supplies, baby supplies, toys, cards and gift wrap, clothing, and more. I have ordered from the walgreens photo counter several times and have been very pleased with the experience, it was fast, simple, and I got great quality pictures. Walgreens has struggled to keep their baby formula in stock amidst this shortage, with bare shelves every time I visit. Walgreens is a bit overpriced in my opinion, but not enough to stop me from going there. Walgreens is always clean but there is usually a wait to check out with only 2 registers at the front. They have recently added new shelving and coolers around the cash registers with tons of last minute grabs.

I stopped at the 24 hour Walgreens at 7:35 to find it closed yet again. I watched 7 other people come and go who were also under the impression that the store was opened. When I checked on line before I went to Walgreens there was no indication that the hours are shorter. Right before I left around 7:45 I saw someone with a red shirt pull up and go in but he didn't open the door for the waiting customer. Walgreens is far more expensive than other stores for most things I go there because they are opened earlier and later than places like Walmart. If it is not opened there isn't much point going there instead.

Does Walgreens not send out text alerts when your prescription is ready? I asked the person and she said they'll let me know. Never got a text. I check my status and medicine has been ready to pick up. But now the pharmacy is closed

24 hour pharmacy closes from 1:30 - 2:00 for lunch break. If you wait until 2:00 you'll be told that they have a 30 - 45 minute backlog of scripts to fill that came in during the closure so your prescription won't be ready for another 45 minutes making their functional closure closer to an hour and 15 minutes.Customer service told me this is "common knowledge" and that I'm welcome to transfer my prescriptions to another pharmacy.I'll never go back.

On 12/12/2021 at 1:18 PM I received a call from a pharmacy technician who explained I was not given the correct documentation after I had completed my Covid test 30min earlier and that I would have to drive back to the pharmacy to collect it in order to receive my test result. I was greatly disappointed with the tone of voice from the technician as I explained my frustration at the incompetence of the service I received causing this inconvenience and she proceeded to end the call without offering further assistance to correct the error her colleagues had made and provide me with my test result. I hope this issue will be addressed by the management at this pharmacy.

I ordered 1 hour photo. Several hours later, I was waiting in line to pick them up. The guy behind the counter was flustered, because the person in front of them had a complaint. When it was my turn, he said my photos weren't there, but he didn't even look. I keep calling the store to ask about my photos, but no one will answer in any department. These are my wedding photos. Get it together Walgreens, CVS is across the street.

This Walgreens is terrible DO NOT GO HERE. They never have prescriptions ready even if you’ve called them in. Even if you’ve received a text they’re ready, there is always a reason they aren’t. It’s so frustrating to wait forever then only to be told to come back. Don’t waste your time here go to Hy-Vee across the street I’ve never had an issue with them.

Super annoying that I have used the Walgreens Express pay online so I don't have to wait in line (at least that is what is says) and get to the pharmacy to pick up the said prescriptions and still have to wait in line behind idiots buying Easter candy and a shopping basket full of stuff. When I asked the person behind the counter what the point of Express pay was and he said it doesn't matter if you pre pay or not. Sigh...

I will be moving all of my prescriptions. The techs are a joke and know nothing about customer service. What should have been a quick stop at the drive thru Saturday to pick up a routine refill they had been bugging me about for days (email, phone calls, voicemails) ended up with me being kept waiting for over half an hour because they are slow, have two "lanes" open but one person at the window, and they don't ask people to come inside for a long consult! Instead they have the pharmacist come to the window (she's was obviously in no big hurry) to answer a hundred questions while the rest of us keep waiting and the line keeps getting longer. Then, when the first "lane" finally opens up we try to move over to it. But no, an elderly lady creeps up and they wait on her instead of taking customers in order, many who have been waiting a long time like us. I lost count of the number of cars that turned around and left because of slow service. This was not the first time this happened, but it will be the last. I usually like Walgreens and they have been my go-to pharmacy for A LOT of meds the last three years, but no more.

They have a lot of stuff there in one location, which is great for convenience. It feels like the next closest thing to a doctor's office with the things they have there that aren't at other pharmacies. They're really good about getting prescriptions filled quickly and always accessible since they're open 24/7.Their prices are a little higher than desired, but when they have sales, they are good ones.

Terrible customer service. Selected their location for a fedex return and when I got there told me they couldn’t scan my code as instructed online. I said this is what the website instructed me to do and the lady said “that’s your problem” I said okay I guess it is maybe you guys should reach out to FedEx then as I probably won’t be the only one with this issue so you’re not listed as an option if you can’t do it. She said yeah we don’t have time for that. Terrible way to run a business and treat customers would never go here again

Don't fill your adhd medication here or any other Iowa City location. They never order enough to actually fill their orders, make you drive all over town, and expect very long wait times to talk to a pharmacist. Most of the time they did an okay job, but if they can't handle their own demand, I'll take my prescriptions elsewhere. It's probably not the pharmacist's fault, it's probably the corporate policies. I'll take Hyvee or CVS over them any day. Never had any problems with them.

Inpatient, rude, and overall noon caring. I'm sure the people are lovely outside of work, but I get the impression no one wants to be there. Not using their pharmacy again.
