Natural Grocers is an amazing company. I appreciate their dedication to their values, and their research. They make sure everything they're selling is good for the consumer long-term, and they ACTIVELY do those kinds of research. The employees are always kind, they are more than helpful, and full of the know-what and know-how. They also have great seed selection, though I'm wanting to see more herbs again this year, as well as the fruits and veggies.

Natural Grocers has a good selection of unique items that you can’t find in other local grocery stores. An example would be their selection of chocolate bars. They have many different supplements. Also a good source of durable reusable shopping bags. You’ll still want to support other local food vendors and grocery stores, but having Natural Grocers on your regular list makes sense. Check out their selection of plant-based meat alternatives.

They have a good selection of organic products and supplements. Some of the supplements here are even cheaper than what you may find on Amazon. Staff is friendly and helpful. I have already been to this place a lot and will definitely go back again.

This might be the best organic grocery store in the Iowa City area. The prices are very reasonable, quite low, even. They have very nice sales and being a member is free and gets you a nice discount on top of their low prices. The quality of the produce is top notch. The staff is always friendly and helpful. If you did not bring your own bags, they sell them and provide boxes for free. They may not always have everything you are looking for, but most everything you will need is there and it is ALL organic. I do most of my shopping there.

Was in the store early Saturday morning at about 9:30 AM. The man checking out at the register before me tried to give the lady his spare change incase anyone else needed it I'm assuming. The lady at the register absolutely would not take it because it would throw off her drawer. So up next was my boyfriend and I come to find out my boyfriend knows the ladyI believe her name was Dianne. She starts complaining right off the bat that apparently he put 2 different apples in the same bag and complained because they have to be rang up separately. Cool. Then as she's ringing us up she is just pounding away at her computer typing in the codes. My boyfriend proceeded to ask her twice how she was doing no response what so ever from her! Then looks at us and ask a question about the apples she's ringing up like we're supposed to answer her after she ignores us. My boyfriend then said it's fine I'll just talk to your manager . Of course she then speaks up right away after this and I said yeah we asked you how your doing twice and you ignored us. She then tries to play it off as she can't hear. But heard us very well when we would just speak to the manager about the situation.

Highly recommend! I've learned anything FDA APPROVED is highly toxic in my opinion as NOTHING I've purchased from there has the FDA's Approval and guess what!? It's worked and could see instant positive results for everything I purchased at a reasonable price for and love that there's at least one company trying to help save the human race, the planet, and everything inside and out the smart way and not out to make a buck and not care about the after affects... #Bringbackhumanity

This place used to be great, especially if you were vegan. Nowadays most things are significantly overpriced compared to other stores in the area. But the thing that made me give it a 1 star review is that the cashiers now are awful. I just went through and watched a cashier angrily throw all of my items out of my basket before scanning, then angrily slide them across to me hard enough to damage the packaging. Whatever is nothing you, leave the customers and their products out of it, they didn't do anything to you. And if you're going to do that, at least be equally unprofessional to everyone, don't be gentle and nice with other customer's merchandise just because they meet whatever arbitrary standards you want. (She was very gentle with the older woman's groceries that was ahead of me)

Cool experience - they have a great selection of foods and natural remedies (e.g. herbal supplements).Great service, and am very happy to see them on the scene.Only 4 stars though because of how high their prices can get... Whew. And some herbal supplements are not as evidence/science based as others.They have a solid education program on Saturdays, so that could help with improving consumer education about these products and how much good they do for your body.

It pays to check your receipts when shopping at this store. They always overcharge. When I check out, the items on sale still have the original prices rather than the discount prices, especially for fresh produce and dairy produce. It happened not less than 9 out of 10 times. It is hard for us to discover when we buy many things. They always give an excuse, like the sale sign should be removed, or someone erased the number before the decimal of the price and etc. I am a researcher. My professional knowledge tells me that if they were random mistakes, then there should be roughly the same number of undercharges as overcharges. However we are always overcharged (the sample size is not as big as 10K observations admittedly but I was a frequent shopper). I would not give it any stars if I can. The products are good. But they sell dairy products beyond the best-used date. I would appreciate it if they can be honest about prices.

My family and I have been buying our food at Natural Grocery in Iowa City for about 3 years and all the people serving have been friendly, until today when we were served by a very unfriendly and racist person, who treated us badly and the white person who was there. In line behind us, he served her very kindly, it is not fair to pay for such expensive food for a person with a bad attitude to throw away the food, he should learn to love life and appreciate the opportunity that this day has to stay alive.

Nice place to get a variety of supplement and herbs of good quality. They were my go to for immune boosting herbs during the pandemic. Some of their essential oils are a little expensive but they do have days when the prices are better. They also have reasonable organic food prices.

I had just recently moved to the Iowa City area and the Tuesday night I had gone in I was immediately met with an unwelcoming vibe in the back isles of the stores when I asked the manager Yulisa for help she was super short with me and rude I definitely won’t be going back in here if I could rate a -5 stars on customer service skills I definitely would give her all 5 yuck!!!! 🤢🤮

I tried to buy a month supply of some tea concentrate made in the USA. But the cashier told me a story about her mother being approached by customs for trying to return from switzerland with too much chocolate, and lied to my face after judging me for prefering tea to coffee?Stupidity and snobbery aren't a good mix.

I do all my shopping here because the food's all organic, fresh and clean for the lowest prices in town. The selection is amazing. The nuts are fresh because they are kept cold. I appreciate that they do not sell liquor. I like the education opportunities. Only the finest meats here. I like the fact that they save their boxes for customer use. It's great to have good parking. No need to shop anywhere else for supplements: they have them all.

Best selection for paleo dieters. Excellent salmon and beef products (needs better chicken), and wonderful produce selection. I like that they have cashiers and DON’T do the self checkout (America needs more jobs, not less.) Thank goodness for Natural Grocers. The service and selection is top notch.

Two words: eggs. They're stupid cheap here, and excellent quality, too. Everything else is pretty dope; they have the spiciest ginger beer I've found (Maine Root), and they have a soap that makes my wife smell like my old babysitter's hot Morrocan neighbor, Monique, that I used to have a crush on when I was 8 (the Nubian Heritage honey and black seed soap). You can buy spearmint in a bag dirt cheap, and there's always weird stuff on the sale rack

I hadn't been here until recently. It's a very nice store. A large selection of supplements is available, which isn't something I need often but it's nice to know it's there. The produce is all 100% organic which means you don't have to constantly check label like you do at most stores. I recently got a huge bucket of mixed greens and they were delicious and fresh. I think it made 6 giant salads, all for $5. I will be shopping here often.

The store is always clean and organized but I do wish they would have certain items in stock more frequently. Love the place.

So happy they are here. Nuts are kept in the coolers to prevent them from becoming rancid. You never have to look at product ingredients because everything they stock is clean. Service is always good, and the employees go out of their way to help you find what you're looking for.

I didn't want to go into this place for a long time. Then I did and was surprised at the reasonable prices on many items. It also appears that they have good quality products. I'll go back again.
