Purchased CBD treats “Treatibles” brand for my cat from Iowa City location. My cat, who lives to eat, refused to try them and when I offered to my second cat, who eats everything, he also refused. These treats were $32 and according to my 2 cats, terrible enough to not take a taste.I tried returning them today, was open to full CC return or store credit, and was refused since the treats “were open.” There was absolutely no way to know that my cats would refuse to even try these treats if they hadn’t been open.This is terrible customer service from a small local business I really wanted to support with my $$$.The treat company should replace/refund the store. The consumer, I , should not have to be out $32!! I will not be back, and given that I have three dogs and two cats… I would say this is a huge financial loss for your store, over $32!

We had the nicest experience here last night. The saleswoman helped measure our dog for collar and harness while her colleague entertained our other dog with treats and pets! Great selection of all things necessary for a happy pet.

Everyone is super helpful. They have a good selection of food, collars, toys, leashes, and treats. There is even a small section for animals like guinea pigs. Excellent COVID precautions.6/30/22: everyone is still so friendly, and there's a great selection of toys and treats. Daisy loved stopping by!

I love this place. I've only visited a few times, but each time has been great. The people who work there are very knowledgeable and helped me pick out some food options for my cat who was struggling with her current food. They have a great selection of items for your pets and will even take some back if it didn't work out!

Leash on Life is one of our favorite stores in Iowa City. We go together with our pup as a family and the folks know who we are, and even follow our dog on instagram! (Yes our puppy has an instagram). For a while, I was ordering everything for our pup on amazon, then I realized that Leash on Life had all of the same things for the same price or cheaper. We have purchased everything from food, treats and toys to anxiety vests, winter booties and CBD oil. Additionally, the atmosphere of the store is just awesome and inviting. Everything is incredibly easy to find, things are always orderly and it does not have that “pet store smell.” They are very friendly, personable and interactive with dogs and products they offer. For example, they will fit your dog for any leash, harness or any product at all. I’ve attached some photos of our big boy trying on some high quality Lupine products. I highly recommend bringing your pup/dog here or if you just want to explore their products they are cool with that too!

I've been so pleased with the superior quality products available, & the service has been everything I could hope for in a pet store. They even have delivery, which is so helpful. Staff is knowledgeable & friendly. I always find exactly what I'm looking for, & plenty I didn't know we needed! Best pet shop in the Iowa City area, by far.

Love this place! They only carry brands that they can stand behind, which in a world of constantly recalled dog food is comforting. The staff also knows all of the equipment and food really well. I have asked about food brands I hadn't heard of and was able to learn a lot. If you bring your pet in the staff is great about helping you try and test out different products with them. The staff is also great with dogs (I assume cats as well, but I don't have any!). They are really friendly, but only reward when the dog is being well behaved and they ask before giving your dog a treat. My pup that isn't a big fan of people fell in love with a staff member and started following her around. Could not recommend either location more!

The best! Great selection of bones and treats! One of my favorites because I can pick out the bones individually instead of buying a pack (which costs a lot more). Additionally, staff is WONDERFUL. I love that they have a system in which I can track what food I've purchased for my dog in the past (because I can never remember). All in all, I am so happy we have a place like this in Iowa City.

They're incredibly helpful and nice here. They love to meet your pet and spoil it with treats (if you approve of course). They helped us try on harnesses on our dog and pick out the right one for him. Our dog adores this store and the people who work there.

Such a great pet shop! I hadn't been there in a few years, and I remembered it being a super cute store before. But today I revisited and it's bigger, well stocked, clean - even better than I remembered it. And the people who work there are so sweet and accommodating. And of course it's nice having a nice local pet shop close by. Highly recommend!

We love Leash on Life. The staff are very helpful even with my sometimes-not-very-clear or well-defined questions, they're always able to help me out. They've been super safe with COVID and provided curbside pickup and delivery, as well as safe indoor shopping. The have a good range of big well known national brands and boutique brands.

The staff are always very helpful. The owners are even more helpful. They will even adjust their usual stock if you tell them you will be buying a lot of something on a regular basis. The products they are sell high quality. My pets eat like royalty on grain-free food from Leash on Life. The only thing I would prefer they change is to be open at least one evening past 5:00. I can only shop on weekends because my work hours are longer than the store hours. That means I really have to pay attention to when I am getting low on pet food.

I love this place. The owner and the employees care about every single customer and pup that walks through the door. They are very kind to all the pups and offer great suggestions and allow you to try products on in the store. They are all very knowledgable about the dog scene around Iowa City and surrounding areas. The best part of shopping here is supporting a local business. The prices are very fair and I would say are on par or less expensive than Petco a chain store. They offer only the highest quality items. We love Leash On Life!

My dog loves their mini trainer snacks, beef flavor. Bought a few things from there, Buster has demolished 3 out of the six toys already. Man, there is nothing made that that dog cannot destroy! Two were treat holders, so can't help that. I keep going back, kind of pricey, but like their selections.

This is a wonderful, locally owned store. There are many unique items for dogs (and some for cats too) -- treats, toys, coats, and anything else you could want. You can bring you dog and get her fitted for a coat or a harness. The women who own and work there will help you find what you need, and couldn't be nicer.

I recently went in search of a new food for my cats. The staff was very helpful in making a selection and even offered up several samples. They have a well organized and well stocked store. Many foods, treats and toys you wont find in other stores. I will definitely be making this my regular stop for all things Kitty.

My Standard Poodle, Lexi is a very picky eater. It took about 6 months to find the right food for her. Either she showed symptoms of allergies or she didn’t like it or it turned out being too expensive. Each time a brand didn’t work out, LOL would take the unused portion back and refund my money. I finally got a suggestion from my cousin to try a brand called PureVita. LOL didn’t carry it, but it was available on special order. Lexi loves it and so does my other dog. I usually pick it up, but one time had a dog emergency, but still needed the dog food that day. Even though the delivery person had gone out, they got the food to me.AND they have a frequent flyer program. Once you buy the right amount of bags of food, you get one free.

Love this pet supply store. They are so helpful and stock plenty of high quality items. Unfortunately I had to take my service dog out because someone brought their aggressive Husky in letting it growl, bark and lunge at other dogs. My service dog is way too important to risk him being injured by someone’s pet that has no business being in public.

what a fabulous spot to pick up something for Fido or Feline. They have the best grain free and put sensitive stomach choices. Worth feeding your loving companion quality rather than filler wood shavings....at least that is my opinion. Toys and cards and leashes for every size and shape. Really a super secret in town
