When I ordered a smoothie, the cashier told me it would be "a bit of a wait," but that wait ended up being over 50 minutes. I heard her telling other customers the wait would be 15 minutes, but other customers sitting near me also said they'd been waiting 40-45 minutes. I finally asked the cashier if they had already started my smoothie and she said it was being made next, otherwise I would have asked for a refund and left. I told her they need to be more upfront about their wait time, and the cashier was dismissive and unapologetic. Eventually a different employee came out to give me a coupon for a free smoothie, which I appreciate, but this employee also didn't seem to understand my comment that, if the staff knows full well it will take 45+ minutes for a smoothie to be made, they need to do a better job of making that clear when ordering. The employee said they're understaffed and I understand and sympathize with that, but I think they could do a better job of being transparent. "A bit of a wait" to me does not mean 52 minutes. If it's going to take an hour, they need to communicate that more clearly from the beginning.

This is a great place to go to get some healthy food! Smoothies and salads and juices abound! The prices seem a little bit high, but the quality is high too and you're getting what you're paying for. This place is great for people with dietary restrictions, gluten-free, dairy-free, raw or vegan are all really easy to accommodate. I love how you can order a caffeinated smoothie, and the caffeine is free on Monday! This is a nice place to hang out and catch up with a friend. They even have an outdoor patio with a very comfy looking swing.

First time here but I will definitely be back. Cute little cafe with lots of healthy options and at reasonable prices. Stopped in between breakfast and lunch so I only got a Matcha Latte this time but I'm super excited to try some of their food. I loved the ambiance and the owners enthusiasm when I mentioned it was my first time there. She was very hands on and seemed to go out of her way to make sure all of her customers were happy. There were lots of people that came in and ordered quick to go food while I was there. But there were also plenty that ordered and stayed and enjoyed their food in the relaxing atmosphere. I will update when I get a chance to try their food 😉.Vegetarian options: Vegan & Vegetarian options available.Parking: I mean it's downtown Iowa City...so parking can be hard to find. I'd be prepared to park a block or so away. There are a few parking garages within a couple blocks of here, worst case scenario.

The smoothie bowls are good… when made right. I ordered an açaí smoothie bowl with strawberries, blueberries, and peanut butter as my toppings. It came out with bananas, blueberries, and peanut butter. They supposedly are blended on a bed of granola as well, and mine had minimal amounts of granola. Not to mention the watered down consistency of the smoothie itself. I hope to have a better experience the next time I go in, as my first experience was not worth the expensive $12 to not get what I paid for!

Love this place. The food/juice/smoothies are fresh and delicious. The service is always prompt and friendly! I always get the pineapple cherry smoothie and Buffalo chicken ranch wrap - I highly recommend! Another nice thing is they have pre made food and juice items if you’re in a hurry and just need to grab something quick. Overall one of my favorite places to get lunch in Iowa City.

this is hands down my favorite place to buy food or drink downtown. this place never fails to disappoint when i need to swing by for something before work. the staff is the friendliest of all places i have been to in iowa city and always greet customers, consistently make great food and drink, and know how to make good customer connections. i think the pricing is fair for the ingredients used, the cleanliness of the store, and the atmosphere. this is the only place downtown that i am a regular at because of how happy i am with the service and products!

I first walked into this place an innocent woman, one who thought I knew what a good smoothie was. But alas, I was mistaken. The moment a singular atom from that first sip touched my tongue, it was like my mouth burst into a nuclear explosion of wonder. I saw my future: my job, who I would marry, what my kids would grow up to do, and how I would eventually die. My depression was cured instantly, my acne cleared, my lifespan extended by 40 years. My life would never be the same again. It was an awakening. The smoothie was just thick enough to have substance, but thin enough that I didn't have to unlock the vacuum of space to drink it. I could taste every. Single. Fruit. And the yogurt. Oh, the yogurt!!!This shop supports local businesses, which is cool. It has options other than smoothies, too. But every day I crave a smoothie from this place. I go feral. My friends all have scratches and bite marks on their arms from when they've tried to stop me from getting a smoothie. My boyfriend nearly lost his leg. My mom called me today sobbing, trying to plead me to stop. She says weird things like I'm "cutting into the family savings" and "tearing the family apart". But no one can get in between Get Fresh Café and me. No. One. And that is why you should go!

I LOVE Get Fresh!! It's my favorite place in Iowa City for lunch, smoothies/smoothie bowls, and fresh juice.My usual order is the Spicy Vegan BLT - the housemade tempeh bacon is amazing - and the green goddess bowl (choose 3 toppings) or the green smoothie. My family also adores the freshies.They have a great selection of fresh juices. I sometimes get these to add to our smoothies at home.On top of the the delicious food, the owner, Wendy is wonderful. She has created a beautiful space with plants to enjoy fresh, local food.

I absolutely love get fresh! Although it is a little more pricey than some other places in Iowa City, their food is always quality and I've never had anything I didn't like. One discrepancy, however, is that on multiple occasions my sandwiches would not be made correctly. Most commonly, my turkey bacon ranch wrap would come with no bacon or no turkey. I would also ask for no tomatoes and be given tomatoes but still no bacon. It's really not that big of a deal, but with how popular this place is, I feel like it's a hassle to ask for it to be remade. However, with how frequently I get food here it would be nice to know if i'm getting a turkey bacon ranch wrap or a turkey tomato ranch wrap. Overall, though, I would have to say their servers are always friendly and the food is always good (even if it is made wrong). I give 4 stars because my overall and recurring experiences have been wholly great, and I don't think a few tomatoes or missing bacon here or there justify any lower rating. Perfect place to stop to study and eat, but is very popular so takes about 15-30 mins to get food during peak hours. Totally recommend for college students or for a cute brunch/lunch date, as they often have special deals during midterms/finals week and the smoothie of the day is always fire.

Get Fresh is fantastic. I have been going for smoothies and healthy meal options for a while and recently did their 3 day juice cleanse. The food is always wonderful and the juice cleanse felt great. I highly recommend Get Fresh to all!!!

My family and I were traveling through town and stopped at Get Fresh for a healthy lunch. We tried 4 different sandwhiches (on gluten-free bread) and I am not sure which was one my favorite! I highly recommend the Mountain Dew juice and a salad with the ranch dressing too. Wendy, the owner, was so friendly and even brought my little ones some organic berries as a treat. Next time, I will be trying a smoothie bowl because I snuck a peek at a customer's and it was beautiful!

We were cutting through town on our way home to the QC when the desire for a great smoothie hit my hubby. I googled and we made our way to Get Fresh Cafe. The owner, Wendy, came out from the back to answer my hubby's questions and even checked in to see how we liked what we ordered. Hubby thought his could use more honey and Wendy had the staff add more to it. She and her staff were super friendly. Cute place with lots of great looking pressed juices, sandwiches and wraps. Nice seating area outside. Thank you, Wendy! Hope to see you at a bingo someday! :)

The service was great and they seem to take pride in making the smoothies (we only bought smoothies). My dad and I thought these smoothies were absolutely fantastic and close to the best he's ever had (one in Georgia seems to be better) and the best I've ever had. There are some interesting things by the chairs like a connect 4 made out of wood.

The Smoothies are always awesome! But the sandwiches... OMG, the sandwiches are UNBELIEVABLY fantastic! Every detail is fabulous, from the perfect presentation & exquisite execution to the tender love & care customers get, daily, when we come in for our usual. Naj, always makes me feel right at home, when she gets my Chicken Salad Croissant for me. Clean, Kind & Cozy! That's service that can't be beat, anywhere that I've tried lately!!! If you haven't experienced the Get Fresh Cafe for yourself, I highly recommend you take the VERY NEXT OPPORTUNITY! This is hospitality the way it was meant to be served! Thank you, Get Fresh!

Get Fresh has the tastiest, freshest juice in town. I love going into their shop or visiting their stand at the farmers market. They catered our wedding (we had mimosas) and everyone loved it! Wendy is awesome and so easy to work with. Highly recommend this place!
