I literally went for ground beef last night and the man at the meat department was soo rude. I’m always at this location and have never experienced such sassiness from anybody. Like all the other people I get meat from are really nice. So thankful I didn’t buy it. I just went to hyvee instead

My only problem here was one specific employee, they definitely made me feel pretty unwelcome and treated me as if I was trying to steal or something. Unfortunately, they did seem to be a member of management so I don't see that changing anytime soon. With the treatment I received and with the higher prices they have, I will be going elsewhere where I'm not made to feel so uncomfortable when just trying to purchase my groceries.

Always a positive experience when I go to this store, it is my favorite local neighborhood market!! Super clean and super friendly, best meat counter ever and great weekly sales. Got St. Louis ribs today on sale @ 1.99 lb.!!!👍😍

It used to be you'd at least get good service for the high prices. Now it's high prices and then you have to scan, bag, and carry out your own groceries. So basically the aldi model now but 3x their prices.

Well kept, amazing meat, friendly staff. The prices are high compared to some things I get at Aldi (frozen brocolli: $0.99@aldi VS. $2.49 @fareway), but I love having Fareway as a second store I go to. Plus, price isn’t there strength: it’s quality and service. So I think it’s fair they should be rated off their strengths. Love their brats, can’t beat them!

Love this store love what they have done with the place. Note of appropriate self checkout assistance.... I was checking out and had pushed skipped bagging and was waiting to see if it registered my finger push it didn't but apparently it wasn't fast enough because a worker came over and pushed it for me! Didn't ask if I wanted help just straight up invaded my personal space.....Not happy! will shop somewhere else for a while.

I went with my son to buy Powerball ticket. Asked for assistance since it was our first time to play.The lady was visibly frustrated with my queries and errors. She tried pushing a quick computer generated ticket which I didn't want adding to her frustration. I asked for further assistance and a nice lady tried helping. When I finalized following the instructions they gave me and got an error she kinda lost it. I just left the store. Wish she had just told me to read the instructions at the back of the ticket saving both of us undue frustration.Please familiarize with what you sell for better customer experience.

The only things I can say I struggle with is all together finding my way in this store. It could very well be me, but I find myself walking around searching for something almost every time. Staff is nice otherwise. Maybe even too nice. I particularly do not like all the bagging and walking me to the car. I'm sure other people will appreciate it, not me. I also think they should let customers push their cart to their car on their own and unload groceries. I have no desire to steal a cart, I really don't. Otherwise I'm happy with their groceries selection, meat is always fresh and well stocked and staff is always great. If you felt a notch of complaining, it's towards policy, not staff.

For the most part the staff are friendly and the service is good. Except in the evening when most of the management must not be there. Every time I go in the morning or afternoon the meat staff seems helpful and friendly. But in the evening the stuff is usually younger and several times I can’t even get help. Tonight was the last time. I was there waiting to buy some ham and watched as two of the three cleaned and the third helped everyone but me. And no there wasn’t many people waiting. I waited and watched as he helped new customers walking up the the meat counter instead of helping me as I waited. I gave up put me groceries back and just bought some prepackaged ham the only thing I really needed. I’m definitely going to try not to do business with faraway anymore even if they are just a few minutes away. Thank you for not surviving me.

Fast, friendly, and the best meat in town. You also do not have to search an entire city block to find things. Nice people almost always help load my car. Still did this morning. And again today.

Pros:They have fresh fish, meat, and produce. The quality of fish I buy from them is superb.Cons:Expensive! Every item is expensive!Closed on Sundays.

Fareway has jumped on the self check-out bandwagon. They take up half of the lanes so its often necessary to use them. Was not assisted with getting my groceries to the car either. Prices have skyrocketed and its disheartening. A loaf of bread I bought for a neighbor 5 days ago now costs 60¢ more. I left it behind. Sadly, there are lots of apartment dwellers in this area who shop nearby. Fareway takes advantage of this "captive audience."

Couldn't find a peppermint schnapps. A very kind male employee located it on the very bottom shelf. A limited supply, not readily visible but was perfect with hot chocolate this evening. His service was exceptional. This is one of the main reasons I frequent Fairway.

The clerks are very friendly. Its not overwhelming to shop because there aren't that mammy options for each individual item, though they do seem to have everything you need. Kind cashiers as well as baggers:) good prices on groceries as well!

The overall selection here might seem pretty limited compared to other supermarkets, but this is absolutely the place to go for produce and meat. By meat, though, I don't mean deli - the deli here doesn't have much going for it. Otherwise, better prices than other markets and great quality.

Love that I can find food here that are not available at larger chains. Amazing fresh meat selection and they still carry and load all your groceries. Its nice after a long night at work.

We don't get to Iowa City often but this store is very clean. I love the wide and clutter-free isles! Super professional and friendly.

Fareway Grocery is really convenient for people living on the west side of Iowa City. It's a small store compared to others in the area but they have a great section including some nice wines, cheeses, and Kalona Super Natural organic milk. The staff people are really friendly and helpful. They offer to help load your groceries in the car and return the cart. They are closed on Sundays.

I love this grocery store. I lived up the block for a few years and came here a few times a week. They don't have EVERYTHING that a Hy-Vee might have, but for a good price they offer all the essentials. Lots of good sales.
