This review is specific to Dr. Eike and Salina. I will explain below, but Dr. Eike is the best. We followed her from her previous employer and would do so again if she were to ever leave here.Dr. Eike defines the words "empathetic professional". She understands that our Cats are our family and treats them as such. We have always felt that our needs are the most important thing in the world to Dr. Eike, and this is demonstrated in her true investment in the care of our babies.When one of our Cats, who was very ill, had to go to the 24 hour emergency vet, Dr. Eike offered to speak with the doctor, even though it was late at night and way after hours. She gives of herself like no other vet we know, and we are true supporters, and fans, of her.Salina is part of Dr. Eike's team, and we are very happy she is. She has great bedside manner, is extremely gentle with our babies, and also has gone beyond the expected to help us.Our babies love them both!

We love everything about it! The vet and assistants are great…friendly…helpful…and try their best to give great service. They seek to understand you and your fur child and provide needed information while respecting how you wish to care for them…more natural treatments vs other methods. My only negative…and it’s not their fault…is we have moved to Georgia and they couldn’t come with us. I should mention that Dr Ann is the best…we saw her at our previous vet clinic…so glad we had found her again…she remembered us after all those years.

Dr. Ann is the BEST! Our dogs love going to see her, and the staff is very personable. Dr. Ann is always just a call away to answer any of our questions. The grooming is also awesome! Our dogs always come home smelling good and looking nice😊

These people are amazing! Whenever I have any emergencies with my pets they always squeeze them in!!! They are very kind and thoughtful of the owners feeling and are great at keeping the line of communication open!

Dr. Ann Eike is amazing! We followed her from Cedar Rapids to the clinic in Independence. Well worth the extra drive to get the best care for our furry babies. Ann is super caring and just loves animals. Highly, highly recommend.

Dr. Ann Eike is the best veterinarian my husband and I have taken our dogs to and for that reason, we drive 45 minutes to Independence for their appointments. Ann first diagnosed our oldest dog with a heart murmur and helped us figure out the best route for managing his condition. Our other dog is an Australian Shepherd who is very timid around new people but loves Ann (and Salina)! While he remains cautious, he has improved drastically with allowing Ann to give pets AND vaccines. The exam rooms are clean, the clinic kitties are adorable and the staff is helpful!

Dr. Eike is the absolute BEST! She’s done so much for our little family. She is kinda, patient, and loving. She hears me and my concerns without sweeping them under the rug. Because of her, I’ve had SO much additional time with my elderly cat.We followed her from Cedar Rapids to Independence; and we’ll follow her should she ever choose to move to another clinic. I have been going to the Independence Vet Clinic for about two years and I think the staff and vets are friendly and very helpful. I love Dr. Ann. She has always given Murphy and Wiley the best of care. Their prices for care is comparable if not cheaper then other vets that I have gone to, and the dog food and other things run about the same in price as you would find at other qualified Vet clinics.

I’m shocked to see anything less than four or five stars. I love this vet and the techs. They are so kind and caring, and let us come in on the same day before we were established clients. We love them!

Major price gouging! When I went into the clinic to have my pet looked at the vet asked if I was ok with getting an x-ray and blood work which was roughly $550. So imagine my surprise when they told me my bill was over $2300!!!! When I requested an itemized list of charges, they said I could only get one after I paid (which included tons of charges I did not approve). I was told if I wanted to know the charges I should have asked at the time but they never told me about half the services. The vet called the next day to give me an update and I asked the vet where my bill was currently at. She said they would call me back that afternoon but they never did and continued to rack up charges (including $185 for pet food, $600 for 2 overnight stays, and $100 for a bath/Shave/wound cleaning.) Which I still would have been okay with $1200-1400 but there was still an additional $1000 in charges for "stuff" I knew nothing about. They should respect their clients enough to inform them once services reach a certain amount. NEVER AGAIN!!

They worked me right in the even though I had been a patient with a different vet. Very thorough and very caring. They also made after visit phone calls to check on progress. So glad to have found them again, and a great local option if you live here.

Don't like it they are friendly but didn't listen to my concerns about doing everything in 1 appointment and had a lame excuse to spread it out so they got more money out of me. They took the animal to another room so you don't even know if they are doing what they said they done will not be going back

Staff was not very friendly or willing to discuss questions. Also did not seem very knowledgeable about mini dachsunds. Was not aware of the IVDD risks with early neuter/spay and also insisted that I could not get even 6 months worth of Heartgard because my mini dachsund could go over the 25 pound weight limit. She said I have to purchase each month, which is more expensive. She is a 6 month old mini dachsund and isn't supposed to get over 11 pounds... She currently is over 6 months old and only 8 pounds. Seems like they are just out for money to me.

I have a Boston terrier named Matylda— she is my friend and my pet, but this place values money over my dog’s seizures, I have 2 days left and my Matylda will start having full on epileptic seizures.. nay grand mallsBut don’t worry I blame myself for being stupid enough for getting stuck in this damn town.My Veterinarian sent this place a prescription and they won’t fill it without first checking my Friend and pet out first…. My vet is in Alburnett, IowaI cannot get there because my pick up is being worked on in Rydell Independence

Called to make an appointment to get my kittens tail looked at, and the person who answered the phone was very nice at first. I called again and forgot to ask what the pricing was. I asked if it would cost anything. Obviously I knew it would cost SOMETHING but I figured they’d just tell me what it cost, but no. This rude receptionist scoffed and went “Well yeah, we don’t do stuff for free”. Um, excuse you?? That’s not a good way to talk to someone who’s obviously worried about money. I was shocked, completely speechless. She had a very rude tone with the rest of the discussion. I didn’t say anything, I just hung up because I was so shocked. I couldn’t believe the disrespect, you don’t just say that to someone. If I had the guts I would call again and give her a piece of my mind, but they don’t deserve any of my wasted words. If she was this rude to me, I wonder how many other people she’s been rude to.

The groomer is fabulous...Libby let's her groom her and she looks great when done...she's done in 11/2 2 hrs ready for pick up.. ❤❤❤ Can't wait til Brenna gets there! (Vet)

Very rude ! Took our cat there because was constipated. Charged $300+. My wife didn’t have enough money with her, they kept the cat hostage until she came back with the rest of the money. We live 45 minutes away. I wouldn’t go back if my life depended on it!

Took my cats in back room and would not let me see what they were doing to my pet. They gave one of my pets a pill I did not know about until I paid the bill. One of my pets is terrified of people he don't know cause of his past that happened to him before I adopted him. He was not himself for a week. Makes you wonder what really goes on in the back room. They spelled my cats name and put the wrong phone number on rabies certificate.
