I brought my car in to be diagnosed at the beginning of December because the battery light kept coming on and it was making an odd noise. The next day I got a call saying my vehicle was done, which I was confused about because I had brought it in to find out what was wrong and told them to call me before doing anything. They told me my battery terminal was cracked so they replaced it. I picked it up and it seemed fine however about two weeks later the noise started again and the battery light started coming on periodically. Eventually it came on and then my car would not start again. Very disappointing that all I wanted was to know what was wrong with my car, they claimed they fixed it and yet I ended up in the same position, same problem, and no idea what is even wrong with it. I also noticed when I received my car back the check engine light was off, meaning the code had been cleared. I already knew the check engine light was on due to the coolant thermostat. They never mentioned to me that the thermostat was going bad and throwing a code which I was expecting they would mention since I knew it was. They simply cleared the code and said nothing. I feel as though they slapped a bandage on the problem and just sent me on my way rather than doing what I asked and diagnosing what the issue is.

Have lived in the Hux for about 4 years now and never really thought about switching mechanics from when I lived in Ankeny, but two breakdowns on the Mercury brought me to Bud's recently and have had excellent service both times. Hopeful that I don't have to see their faces for a while but I feel good going back if I have to, lol. I did tow thru insurance but convenient they have their own wrecker too.

Today I was stranded on I35 going north between Huxley and Ames on GAME DAY!!! Dax, the owner of Bud’s Auto Repair and Towing and came out with his tow truck! I can not say enough about how much I appreciate what they did. They literally put their life on the line, when they deal with interstate traffic. Thank you Dax! You made sure my van was in working order before you sent me on my way.

Very knowledgeable staff and honest. Told me about an issue ton my truck and encouraged me to take it to the dealer since it was under warranty. They could have simply fixed the problem. I had no idea about the warranty, but they were honest and will keep my business.

Very friendly, fast, and reasonable / reliable repairs. I commute past Huxley and these folks have been awesome to work with on two occasions: one time they got my car off the side of the road after an ice storm. Just yesterday a guy lost his tire off his car in front of me and needed some serious help. The folks from Bud's got out there quick and went above and beyond to get him back on the road. Very kind of them and greatly appreciated!

My truck blew a fuel pump and Buds was the AAA tow company. I asked at the time of the tow I asked if they handled fuel pumps on Nissan trucks and how they compared price wise to a dealer. They assured me they could beat the pricing no issues. Well they quoted me $832 which seemed high compared to all the online posts for replacement costs. I called the dealer and they said they could do install for a clean $700. I called Buds back to see what the price difference was a result of they said they broke some bolts on the skid plate when taking off and doing diagnostic work. I asked what it would cost to where they were at so I could take to the dealer and they said 140 for the diagnostic work. Pretty much had me dead to rights, so was forced to incur the higher than promised pump. I also asked them multiple times to check my front left hub assembly as I was going on a road trip. They assured me that it was in fine and not an issue. Fast forward 2 days later and my hub assembly fails in Minneapolis leaving me stranded. WAY over priced for a small town mom and pop shop. That said they were nice in person, but I think ill take my business else where going forward.

We got a flat on I-35 and they picked us up within 20 min and towed us to the garage. Despite the Christmas rush, they gave us a used tire and had us on our way within 30 min. So, from the time we called, till the time we were back on the road, it took less than an hour. Plus, the bill was much less than we were expecting. Impressive service. Thanks!!

Excellent service. I was a walk-in in need of help with my car because it couldn't get past 1st gear. Bud's was the closest auto shop, so i inched it there in 1st gear. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. After a short explanation of the situation, and a 20 minute wait, i was on the road again no worse for wear. They even spotted an issue with the car i hadn't noticed and reccomended me a part and course of action. I'm not easily impressed, but Bud's Auto Repair is A-OK in my book. 5 stars and a high recommendation.

Best experience I've ever had at an automotive repair shop ever! Although I was dealing with a stressful situation Dax was incredibly kind and helpful despite being only 15 minutes from closing to care for the wheel issues on my Honda. If you like friendly, knowledgable, and thorough service than this is the best place to go! Highly recommended and I plan on coming for future auto repair services and telling friends and family about my great experience.

I had a flat when arriving in Huxley. Called Bud's & someone came in about 10 minutes, aired my tire so I could get it to the shop so they could check it out. A cotter pin was in the tire. Repaired the 2 holes & had me back on the road in no time. Very friendly staff! Thanks for the rescue. I highly recommend Bud's Auto Repair!

My wife was pulling our 32' travel trailer with the family and 250 miles away from me/home at the beginning of their vacation. The truck blew a high pressure oil pump line (diesel) and left them stranded on the side of I-35S just on the Huxley, IA off-ramp. I called Bud's Auto Repair because of the good ratings and close proximity and I'm so glad I did. Dax, was the first person I talked to and he was both timely and professional. He and I talked over the situation and he got the trailer and my family to his shop and the truck to a diesel specialist up in Ames. The point is he made an awful situation better and really treated my family like his family. Thank you Dax. My family was back on the road in about 6 hours (most of the time was waiting on parts) and able to make it to campground in Missouri that night. Don’t waste your time going here.. worst service I’ve ever had!! Bud was very rude didn’t listen to what I had done to my truck, did exactly what I had already done.! And still didn’t have a problem charging an outrageous price.. and still no truck to drive. Take a drive go somewhere else and save yourself so money!

We have 4 Vehicles That are all Taken Care of By Buds they are Early 2000's vehicles so repair is Needed from Time to Time. Buds has always Fixed The Problem at a Fair Price and Explained what was Wrong clearly. I only wish they Repaired Boats we would Trust Them Repairing that Also.
