The only reason I'm giving them a 4 instead of a 5 is because I was made to feel more like a bother by one of the front office employees. She did not greet us when we stepped up to the desk and when asking for my pets info seemed preterbed I needed to look up the info in my records. Customer service skills are very important no matter what business your in.

Brought a friend here today with her cat. She was so worried because her cat was sick. Within a few minutes the diagnosis was performed and the cat was made to feel better. Had a blocked uretha. All taken care of and allowed to go home. That made my friends day. AWESOME people here. They really love what they do and it shows.

Don’t recommend them for cat care. We took our cat to be seen and was given the worst bedside manner. We gave the vet our concerns and was told our animal was fine, and that it was normal behavior. We followed up with a different vet in Waterloo and now our poor boy is on 2 different medications and special food because he in fact was not “ Fine “

called for an APPT, when they said i could come the next day that should’ve been a sign. i scheduled one for the next week, got to the clinic and the lobby was full of people, i waited 30 minutes past my appointment. heard the front desk people say there was only one vet in the clinic.. when i finally got to the back with my cat, they looked at her for 5 minutes tops and sent us on our way. she is a stray cat, i wanted to make sure she is healthy.. that’s why i scheduled the appointment. all they did was tell me her weight and that they couldn’t give her shots because of a fever (102, google says that’s normal) and an age estimate that we had to ask for.. they barely even looked at her and did no testing at all. (they weren’t vets, probably training to be) everyone was nice but that’s about it. the front desk people were too busy to even remember why i was there. as a first time cat owner that was an extremely disappointing and sad experience. i’ve taken her to a vet that actually cares now and they’re doing the proper testing that should’ve been done in the first place. an absolute shame. spend the extra money and take your pet elsewhere, it’s worth it.

I don't give any stars! They are horrible... I think maybe they should stick to farm animals only because of them 1 telling me my boy couldn't be fixed because he had a soft pallet to misdiagnosed him for CANCER! He is no longer with us!It's sad the amount of people that won't come here and I don't blame them!

Small town atmosphere but high volume veterinarian with very reasonable prices. Usually in and out very quickly. It is our preferred veterinarian in the area. Note: If you're the kind of person who treats her pet better than her own kids, you might be happier going to a more boutique (pricier) vet in the city.

Dog had to get stitches and they did ok. They don't like to tell you anything but just worry about the money. If they were as concerned about my dog as getting paid it might be different. We're changing vets.

If I could give zero stars I would. This place focuses on large animals, not small. They don’t have equipment to accurately diagnose issues. In fact, they misdiagnosed our dog and cat resulting in their death. I’ve told our story to so many people that have had the same experience and yet this place is still open. In fact, today I was at Pawsitive Pet Care in Waterloo and a guy with a cat that was very sick said he just stopped going to Hudson Vet because they kept telling him to give his cat benadryl. That cat will be lucky to make it, she was in very bad shape. Others need to speak up and do more to shut this place down.

Priced fairly with attentive care, I haven't ever had a bad experience.Only "issue" I've had is that my older cat has a chronic sniffle and there doesn't seem to be much to do. I was told I should try benadryl, but my boy boots just spits it out.I guess for now I'm stuck wiping his nose for him. I don't think there was much else they could've done, and tbh, I didn't push too hard to get any alternatives. Boots doesn't seem to mind, though I'm not a huge fan of cleaning up his sneezes off the baseboards.

All of the Hudson Vets are super gentle and nice..Almost all of there staff welcomes you with a smile..Although the only people besides some children my Rosa dislikes is the vet.But they hang in there and prefer her to be slightly relaxed with help.Thank you Hudson Vet staff !!

1st time today. Took our cat Boots. Dr. Hargens seen him and was so good with him. Very gentle and the nurse was great. All the staff was friendly and could tell they love animals. Our regular vet for same service was $132.70. The cost today was only $74.40..Thanks

Dropped off my girlfriend's nawty pup for his appointment. I have used Hudson before & have always had great service from the vet... be it home visits for horse care to office checkups for my chihuahuas. Excellent vet!

I took my new puppy to them Friday because she had been vomiting and lethargic. Friday morning she ate aLittle bit and kept it down so they felt she was ok. They did not do any testing or X-rays! They did give her, her first shots. Now she is not eating. She will drink but throws it up later. I called them and asked it they could see her and I would pay them on Tuesday. They said no. They had to have 250$ up front. I spent all I had on Friday. I told them I could pay on Tuesday when my son gets paid but that is not good enough! What is wrong with this world? Not everyone has a ton of money lying around. I have many medical issues myself. He had the nerve to tell me this is my fault! That I am letting my dog die because I am not rich. If you had done tests while she was there she would have gotten the right treatment then we wouldn’t be in this situation ! You heartless SOB!

I took my cat here for the first time today to get her T4 levels checked because she has hyperthyroidism. I knew this vet wasn’t going to be anything fancy, but overall I was not impressed with the borderline rude receptionist, lack of communication with the staff, and very bare minimum care for my cat.When I arrived, I wasn’t really greeted; the lady at the front desk just said “Who do we have here?”. I told her my cat’s name, and then she didn’t say anything more. She didn’t tell me what to do, so I decided to sit down at one of the waiting chairs with my cat.The next thing I know, one of the techs(?) came out and said “we’ll bring her back for the blood draw”. She didn’t introduce herself, nor did she even give me the opportunity to come back to the room with my cat. I just said “okay” and handed off my cat. An older gentleman came out and asked me “how’s your cat doing? Losing any weight? Are her stools normal?” He did not introduce himself, but I realized afterwards that was the vet as he came out of his office with his name on it.I waited in the lobby for about 5-10 minutes before someone just set my cat on the counter without saying anything. At other places, they would at least say something like “okay, she’s all done. She was a good girl. You just have to pay at the front desk”. But nope, no one said anything to me. After waiting for a couple minutes waiting for someone to say something to me, I walked up to my cat to start petting her. After standing there for a couple more minutes, the lady at the front desk just said “that’ll be $35 flat for you”. I then informed her that I needed a refill of my cat’s medication. She acted like it was a big hassle and walked off without saying anything else, she didn’t even confirm the dose with me. She was very abrupt and not friendly. She counted up the pills and gave me the rest of what they had, and then rang me up. She confirmed my phone number and then I went home.After reading my receipt, I also realized they didn’t even weigh my cat. I feel like weighing your pet is a bare minimum thing to do when bringing any pet in for any level of care since it takes a few seconds (and is especially important for hyperthyroidism since weight can show how well their disease is being controlled).I did not feel welcomed here at this clinic, and I did not appreciate the lack of communication with the vet/technicians. I felt that the customer service was poor, and I would have hoped that they would treat a brand new client better than how they treated me. They did not make a good first impression and I don’t think I’ll be bringing my cat back here. Even thought this place was cheap, I’d rather pay more at a place that takes the time to at least introduce themselves, communicate with me more, do more than bare minimum pet care, and be friendly.

**DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS TO THIS PLACE FOR ANYTHING MORE COMPLICATED THAN SHOTS.** Hudson Veterinary Clinic caused my pet and me a lot of completely unnecessary pain and suffering. Please, do not be fooled by the good reviews. Being a "farm vet" is not a good thing unless you want your pet to be treated like a farm animal. I'm not going to get into all of the details because they're too painful to recount. The experience was so traumatic, watching my poor helpless dog literally wither away over the course of two months and over a half dozen visits, that I do not want to get a pet again because I fear ever having to go through this experience again.To Brian Hargens- You need to do everyone a favor and retire or stick to treating farm animals. Your lack of thoroughness has an enormous impact on the lives and wellbeing of others. My poor dog went through two months of terrible suffering because you couldn't bother to do some basic tests or imaging. One of your nurses was so incompetent that she told me only "big city" vets have access to injectable anti-nausea medications. When I told the vet I took my dog to after a half dozen times seeing you, he was stunned at your incompetence. If I could sue you, I absolutely would. Your laziness is inexcusable to the point of cruelty.

Poor customer service. Couldnt handle our dog as he was barking in the kennel after being neutered. Made us get him only two hours after being put under. Made the mistake of paying for a cheap service.

We had to put our beloved dog down today. The vet tech at the desk went above and beyond to help us find the best way to honor the remains. She looked into city code regarding private burial and was so nice through the whole process. One of the hardest days of my daughter's life, but that tech made it a little bit better.

Nice staff, caring attitude and affordable. Been using this vet for years and never had any issues, and never heard of any complaints from fellow pet owners. The building itself is kind of on the smaller size so the reception/waiting area can become quite crowded very quickly. So if your pet is skittish or aggressive around other animals it just worth knowing about this. Highly recommend this place!

I had the worst experience ever. First time there and it will be my last time going there. We went to a vet that was very expensive so wanted to give Hudson vet a shot since we’ve heard they are cheaper. I regret that decision. The lady at the desk and that assisted with the checkup was terrible. She was rude to me and was manhandling my cat. The doctor was also rude. I feel like they didn’t do a full exam and I left there a mess from how they treated my cat.

It is NOT a bad thing for Vet's to see both farm animals & Domestic pets. It shows a good variety of the Vet's abilities. It would have been nice to get a Pet Sympathy card after our cat Midnight died. I feel they do the best they can with limited resources. If they can ever pair - up with more Vets & expand their business to include X - Rays, body scans, Emergency Services & etc. (even if they have to charge more for their services to pay for their overhead expenses), it would GREATLY help them to provide even better care for the precious pets & families they serve. I hope & pray for the best for this Vet Clinic!

I have personally never taken my dogs or cat here but it has come to my attention recently that the veterinarian here is a vial soulless P.O.S!!! He has killed so many beautiful souls who did not deserve to die because he does not know what he is doing. Do not take your pets here if you truly love and care about them!!!!!! You should not have to worry about your pet dying going in for a simple surgery. That’s someone’s best friend that they just lost. I am truely disgusted please spread the word about this awful place.
