Super fun learning experience! We took our grandchildren for the "hands on tour" . It was well worth it! I have nothing negative to say, we enjoyed everything! The staff were super nice and worked really well with the kids.Included was: feeding a calf, milking a cow, peting cows and kangaroos, as well as the family dog, making butter, and free ice cream.Just remember it is a working farm, with all the sites and smells. I would recommend good shoes, there is some walking on gravel, but old shoes, as cows do poop. Our grandkids said they want to go back next summer.

It was wonderful 😊 🤩👍The staff was very friendly and my daughter was with her 3 little kids from Germany here.Twins 9 months old, 2 boys and John the brother will be 4 in July! They're very helpful and kind and we had no problems with the Twin stroller to go around and the tour was awesome 👍 My Grandson John asked her Mom " Can we take a kangaroo home, please? " 😊☺️🙃🤗🤣🤣🙏We will come again!

Highly recommend! We brought our 6 and 8 year old today and the entire family had a blast. It was very hands on and educational and the kangaroos are just an added bonus!

What a great experience. They have a great tour and are very informative. The kids loved feeding the calves, milking a cow and the big surprise was the kangaroos! Who knew there were kangaroos in Hudson Iowa! Kids got to feed and interact right in the pen with them. After the farm tour we all had our fill of the great product made right here at the dairy. Milk, cheese, ice cream, beef sticks and we made our own butter. We went as a home school group , so you may need to book your tour ahead so check out their website. Highly recommend, especially for your town kids . Milk does not come from the grocery store.

Great place to visit. Staff was very curtious and friendly. Took a wagon ride to the farm and then broke up into groups. We took the hands on tour so got to bottle feed calfs and then got the tour of the farm, got to milk a cow and at the end we got to feed treats and pet the kangaroos. After arriving back at the center where we started you got to make your own butter, and then sample their milk and got an ice cream treat. They have cheese, curds, sausage, meats, and milk or sale if you wish to purchase. For the price it was well worth it. I would highly recommend getting some reservations and taking this tour.

Absolutely wonderful time. We learned a lot about the dairy farm and really enjoyed petting the kangaroos and cows. Your products are absolutely delicious. Can't wait to get home and try all the different flavors of cheese curds.

Interesting working dairy farm. I took the tour and enjoyed all aspects of it. I milked a cow, feed a baby cow , pet a kangaroo, tasted fresh milk and ice cream and made butter by shaking cream. The owners were very polite and socialable. I would recommend the tour for all ages.

We loved it here. We spent the night with the Harvest Host program. They have a tour they offer as well as an on site store. The ice-cream is really good and they seem to really care about the animals. It's family run and family oriented. Great place.

We visited today and took the tour. Wonderful experience for young and old! Favorite part was petting a kangaroo and eating ice cream. Where else could you do that?!

Have never been there and oh boy it was a great time!. I've been around farms most of my life but it was fun to go and play with the animals. Got to bottle feed a few of the calves, played and fed the kangaroos and try to pet the pregnant cows but they weren't having much of that. We even got to hand milk a cow 🐄 Went back to the welcome center and made some real butter and had some fresh chocolate milk and some yummy ice cream. The young lady that was doing the tour did a excellent job explaining everything and answering questions. If you have never been to a dairy farm I highly recommend you go to Hanson's dairy farm and do the tour!

This 150 year old farm is a hidden gem! If you do go do the hands on your. We fed kangaroos (he s you read that right), fed baby cows, milked cows, learned the history of the farm, pet goats, churned butter, and got a free pint of ice cream and cheese curds. Such a great tour and the fact it’s all family fun and operated is even better!

We visited the dairy farm and got some road-schooling about sustainable farming practices, clean dairy production and the future of farming in America. Met some super friendly hosts, wife went on a tour of the farm and we had the most delicious cherry chip I've cream in my lifetime. Plus my wife met kangaroos to pet and baby calves to bottle feed! Peaceful. The tranquility of middle America in full bloom. We would visit again. The store sells products made from the cows milk.

We had an amazing time at Hansen’s Dairy Farm. It was a great hands on experience with the animals! The kids loved it all and even got to feed a one day old calf. Making butter and taste testing other products were a huge hit as well. We would definitely recommend it to anyone!

What a great place to learn about dairy farming. There are opportunities to pet cows and calves, milk a cow, bottle feed a calf and interact with kangaroos. After the tour, try their milk, make butter and eat ice cream. Great fun for families.

So much fun!! The tour was informative and engaging, even for our toddlers. We loved petting and feeding kangaroos, feeding a calf, milking a cow, and seeing the parts of the farm. At the end we made butter and enjoyed cheese curds and ice cream, all from Hansen's of course, and all delicious!! We bought more curds, milk, and butter to take home with us. Would definitely recommend this tour!

This was our second year at the farm. My kids absolutely love it, especially the kangeroos! The team does a great job with hands-on learning for all. There isn't just ONE thing you'll enjoy. It's all awesome and great experience. Even if you grew up on a farm, have family that farms, are from a rural area or the city - this tour really opens your eyes to dairy farming!

This is a great place for all ages. We were there just a few days ago and my daughter who turned 14 the next day still talks about it. The cost is very reasonable for whAt you get to do, what you learn and the yummy snacks. We absolutely loved it and will definitely go back. Well worth the drive! Don't forget to go online to reserve your tour (space is limited). Take a cooler for yummy treats to buy and take home for later. Maui was our tour guide and was so fun! He sang Happy birthday to my daughter at the end of the tour! Schedule your tour soon. You won't be disappointed

This is one of the best experiences for kids in the Cedar Falls area. Excellent tour, pet lots of cows and kangaroos (for some reason), and a fun butter-making and taste test session. Takes about 1.5-2 hours and reasonably priced. One forewarning is that your clothes will smell like barn after the tour, so not a good choice before a date or job interview (unless it’s also at a farm).

I brought a group of disabled adults on the petting zoo tour. The tour guide was very helpful. She even helped get a wheelchair through the gravel. She was very patient with my clients and treated them all with respect. I will definitely plan another tour again. The experience was amazing!!

Cedar valley gem! Makes you feel great about farms and where your food is coming from. Easy tour of the grounds including feeding a calf, milking a cow, petting the kangaroos and tasting the products. Huge fan after seeing the quality of the farm. May want to wear bug spray... There were areas that has a lot of biting flies.

Having been raised on a farm, it was a large, modern version of a trip back in time for me. What a wonderful experience! The two tour guides were excellent in their explanations, and the record-keeping that is done is outstanding! Admittedly, I liked the young calves—beautiful Holsteins! However, I may have been the only one in our tour who actually knew how to milk a cow by hand, having done this as a kid. It was fun, but I don’t think I could do it every morning and evening now. Their products are excellent! Just wish we could get them in our area. The kids liked the kangaroos, and that was fun. A very original idea to have kangaroos in Iowa! If you want a great experience, combined with some education about an aspect of the food chain, this is a great way to do it!

Best milk, cheese curds, and CARAMELS in town!!! Cute little shop close to home. The combination of that and being able to have money on an account there makes running in for a purchase quick and easy, which is appreciated. And CUUUTE little baby ice cream cones make my kids smile every time. :) Friendly service too!

Our guide was incredible. She was very knowledgeable and informative. Not to mention extremely upbeat despite the less than favorable weather and cold temperature. We definitely look forward to coming back when the sun is shining and the breeze is considerably warmer.

My niece and I traveled 2.5 hours and the tour was worth it! She especially enjoyed petting and feeding the kangaroos. Our tour guide was excellent - so much interesting information! We knew we would sample cheese curds, milk, ice cream and make butter but we were very surprised to get a half pint of ice cream, our choice of flavor! This farm is a jewel for northeast Iowa!
